Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Kern County

Kern County, CA

From the 1970s two-stories in Northwest Delano — where straight stairways and carpet treads are standard and installs typically wrap in under three hours — to the older single-family homes in Downtown Delano where the stairway sometimes runs along an exterior wall and the lower landing opens directly into the main living area, our team knows the local housing patterns. We've worked in East Delano subdivisions where 1980s construction means narrow stairwells and low-headroom upstairs hallways, and in the Albany Park neighborhood where slightly newer builds from the 1990s sometimes have the split-entry layout that requires a landing-to-upper-floor solution. Because Delano sits at the center of the Bakersfield-Delano CBSA, we also cover McFarland, Earlimart, Richgrove, and Wasco at the same rate — no travel surcharges for the surrounding Kern and Tulare County communities.

Straight

East Delano two-story — straight rail on dark hardwood treads

East Delano, CA Installed March 2026

A 1982 two-story in East Delano with 13 dark hardwood oak treads and a warm-toned open staircase visible from the front entry. Mr. Gutierrez had worked agriculture for 35 years and his knees simply stopped cooperating. The rail bolts directly into the oak treads on the right side — no wall mounting, no spindle modifications. The beige seat sits unfolded at the bottom landing, ready to ride. The consultation happened entirely in Spanish; his daughter translated for us when she joined on speakerphone from Fresno. Installed three days after the assessment.

Downtown Delano — curved rail bends around upper-floor half-wall

Downtown Delano, CA Installed February 2026

One of Delano's older homes near Downtown — a two-story with a staircase that curves 90 degrees at the upper landing around a half-wall balustrade. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the top floor so Mrs. Vega steps off directly onto the upstairs hallway. Two other companies said they couldn't work with the layout. We laser-scanned the staircase geometry, fabricated a single continuous curved rail that threads the turn, and installed it in one day. Mrs. Vega has lived in that house since 1971. The consultation and walkthrough happened entirely in Spanish.

Albany Park — straight rail on stone treads in a compact older home

Albany Park, CA Installed January 2026

A compact 1990s home in the Albany Park neighborhood with stone tile treads and a traditional feel — a wooden sideboard sits at the base of the stairs with a potted plant, and the stairway is narrower than a modern build. The Morales family wanted a low-profile rail that didn't look institutional. We anchored the rail using chemical-set masonry bolts rated for the tile substrate, specified a brown-upholstered seat that blends with the warm cottage tones of the home, and completed the install before lunch.

Outdoor

Fremont — outdoor lift on stone-paved front porch entry

Fremont, CA Installed December 2025

A farmhouse-style home in the Fremont neighborhood with a raised front porch entry — rough natural stone paving at the base and carpeted outdoor treads leading up to the front door. Mr. Sandoval is a veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno. The cream-colored outdoor seat is UV-rated for the Central Valley sun, weather-sealed against the seasonal Tule fog that rolls through Kern County each winter, and anchored into the stone paving with chemical-set bolts. HISA covered $6,800 of the cost.

Northwest Delano — straight rail on carpeted stairs at the landing

Northwest Delano, CA Installed November 2025

A 1978 two-story in Northwest Delano with fully carpeted treads and a landing area where the brown-upholstered seat parks flush against the wall. The carpet color closely matches the seat upholstery, so the unit blends into the stairway rather than standing out. Mrs. Reyes's mother had stumbled twice in the past year on these stairs. We bolted the rail through the carpet into the tread wood beneath — no cutting, no trimming. The tiled floor at the bottom landing made for clean anchor points. Her mother, 79 years old, now uses the lift six times a day.

Platform Lift

Downtown Delano — indoor wheelchair platform lift for full-time chair user

Downtown Delano, CA Installed October 2025

A 1960s home in the older Downtown Delano core where Sra. Flores uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface and bright yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The white handrail runs along the terracotta-painted stairway wall. Sra. Flores rolls on at the bottom, presses one button, and rolls off at the upper level. The full consultation, demonstration, and operating walkthrough happened in Spanish. Her grandchildren can still use the stairs — the platform folds flat against the wall when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Delano Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Delano right now?

Straight rails in Delano's two-story tract homes — the 1970s and 1980s builds in Northwest and East Delano — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. If your staircase has a landing turn or a curved section (less common in Delano's standard tract homes, but present in some 1990s Albany Park builds), a curved rail runs $9,000 to $15,000 because it's fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and covers installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Do you charge more because Delano is in the Central Valley, far from the coast?

No travel surcharges for Delano, McFarland, Earlimart, or Wasco. Equipment prices are the same as anywhere else in California — we don't add distance fees for the Bakersfield-Delano corridor. What slightly affects cost is staircase geometry (a curved rail is always custom-fabricated and priced accordingly) and whether your home needs a new electrical outlet near the stair base. We put every line item in writing before you decide.

Do you conduct consultations and installs in Spanish?

Yes. Every Delano and Kern County assessment can be conducted entirely in Spanish if that's what your household prefers. Luis is bilingual, all printed quotes and consent forms are available in Spanish, and the post-install operating walkthrough happens in the language of your choice. Zero surcharge — it's how we work in this community.

Are there any hidden fees I should know about?

Our written quote covers the rail, seat, battery backup, installation labor, and the first service visit. What can add cost (and we tell you upfront): if your home has no 120V outlet within reach of the stair base, we add a dedicated circuit pulled by a C-10 licensed electrician. City of Delano building code follows California's CBC, which does not require a building permit for stairlift installation in most residential settings. We tell you exactly what's included before we schedule.

A word from Luis

Most families in Delano call me when a parent — usually a farmworker or retired farmworker who has lived in the same house for 30 or 40 years — can no longer get to the bedroom without holding the wall. These homes were built in the 1970s and 1980s, affordable two-stories in Northwest Delano and East Delano, and nobody planned for the stairs to become the problem. My job is straightforward: show up within 24 hours, measure accurately, and give you a written quote you can trust. Hablo español — si su familiar prefiere la consulta en español, así lo hacemos.
