Stairlift Service Across Prince William County

Prince William County, VA

From the original 1960s split-foyers of Ashdale and Birchdale — brass handrails, carpeted treads, and six-step foyer drops unchanged for half a century — to the 1990s colonials of Queensdale and Princedale, our team has measured stairs in every 'dale' in the community. We know which Forestdale and Hillendale ramblers have the steeper-than-code pitch requiring an adjustable-angle rail mount, which Mapledale townhouses need HOA documentation for shared-entry stairs, and which Silverdale and Kerrydale single-families have the wider 1980s stairwell that installs in under three hours. We cover Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Montclair, and Independent Hill as a single service area — same crew, same pricing, no handoffs.

1990s Queensdale colonial — beige seat on refinished oak treads

Queensdale, VA Installed March 2026

A 1993 Queensdale colonial with refinished oak treads, a warm wood-tone banister, and a foyer wide enough that the family didn't want the lift to dominate the entry. Mr. Nguyen — a retired Army logistics officer from Fort Belvoir — needed access to the upstairs bedrooms after a hip replacement. We matched the beige seat to the warm oak tones, bolted the rail into the treads with backing plates for the pre-finished hardwood, and parked the chair at the upper landing where it folds flat against the wall. His VA HISA grant through the DC VA covered the majority of the cost.

90° curved rail in a Hillendale split-level — brown seat parked at the upper hallway

Hillendale, VA Installed February 2026

A 1975 Hillendale split-level with the classic Dale City geometry: six steps up from the front landing to the bedrooms, a 90-degree turn at the upper hallway, and a pendant light fixture hanging directly in the rail path. We digitally scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that clears the pendant with three inches to spare, and mounted the brown upholstered seat so it parks flush at the upper landing. Mr. Reyes swivels and steps onto the hallway carpet. The whole consultation happened in Spanish because that was the only language Sra. Reyes was comfortable in. Luis walked them through every button twice.

1968 Ashdale split-foyer — compact rail beside the entry credenza

Ashdale, VA Installed January 2026

An original 1968 Ashdale split-foyer — the kind Cecil Don Hylton built by the hundreds — with the entry landing, a wooden credenza the homeowner inherited from her mother, and the original terrazzo-tiled foyer floor. Mrs. Patterson had not gone downstairs to the family room in four months. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on the compact-profile rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the credenza by two inches, and drilled through the original carpet into the wood substructure. The brass handrail she's gripped since 1968 is untouched. Her bridge club meets in the family room again.

Raised front entry in Forestdale — weather-sealed outdoor lift on the stone paving

Forestdale, VA Installed December 2025

A 1972 Forestdale raised rambler with a stone-paved front entry and five exterior steps that ice over every Northern Virginia winter. Mr. Alvarez is a retired Marine who served 22 years at Quantico and qualified for the full HISA grant through the DC VA. We installed the cream-colored outdoor seat on a hot-dip galvanized rail anchored into the stone paving, fitted the freeze-thaw gasket kit standard for the Northern Virginia climate, and added a weather hood over the joystick. The entire consultation and paperwork walkthrough was in Spanish. He's ridden it through the full 2025-2026 winter including the January ice event without a single fault.

Birchdale split-foyer — brown seat on the original carpeted stairs

Birchdale, VA Installed November 2025

A 1971 Birchdale raised rambler with the original brown carpet on 12 treads running from the front landing up to the bedrooms. The carpet color hadn't changed since the Jenkinses bought the house in 1976. We drilled through the carpet into the wood substructure, mounted the brown-upholstered seat that practically disappears against the matching carpet tones, and added the swivel-exit feature so Mrs. Jenkins steps off onto the upstairs hallway runner instead of the top tread. Mr. Jenkins — a retired Prince William County firefighter — said the whole thing took less time than replacing the kitchen faucet.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform lift in a Mapledale townhouse for a Quantico veteran

Mapledale, VA Installed October 2025

Mr. Davis is a disabled Marine veteran who uses a power wheelchair after a service-connected spinal injury at Quantico. His Mapledale townhouse has a half-flight between the main level and the upstairs bedrooms — too short for a traditional elevator, too steep for a ramp. We installed an inclined platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat black anti-slip deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The platform folds against the wall when not in use so his wife and son still use the stairs normally. The DC VA processed his HISA grant in four weeks. He rolls onto the platform, rides to the upper hallway, and is in his own bedroom every night.

Common Questions

Everything Dale City Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in a Dale City split-foyer right now?

The classic Dale City split-foyer — six steps down from the front landing to the family room and another six to eight up to the bedrooms — takes a straight rail on each run. A single straight rail runs $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Most Dale City families install the upper run first (foyer to bedrooms) and add the lower run later if needed. The 1990s Queensdale and Princedale colonials with wider stairwells and hardwood treads fall in the same range. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in the older Ashdale section vs. newer Queensdale?

Equipment prices are identical across Dale City. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: compensating rail mounts for the steeper-than-code pitch in some 1960s Forestdale raised ramblers, carpet-through drilling in the original 1970s Birchdale treads, and additional time for townhouse HOA coordination in Mapledale or Nottingdale. We tell you every line item upfront. No surprise premiums based on your neighborhood.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Dale City assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of families along the I-95 corridor through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. For the Hispanic community across Ashdale, Birchdale, and the Woodbridge border, it's how we do business. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for HOA or townhouse association installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we prepare for you. Dale City's townhouse sections — Mapledale, Nottingdale, parts of Birchdale — have community associations, and the Virginia Property Owners' Association Act plus the federal Fair Housing Act require associations to approve reasonable accessibility modifications for residents with a documented medical need. We carry the documentation packet on every Dale City assessment. What can add cost (rarely) is when a board requires a formal engineer's letter. If that's the case, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Most Dale City calls start with a split-foyer. The husband can't do the six steps from the front door down to the family room anymore, or the wife stopped going upstairs to the bedrooms after her knee replacement, or a daughter in Fairfax is calling because her parents are still in the same Birchdale raised rambler they bought in 1974 and nobody has talked about the stairs until now.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure the split-foyer run and the upper stair, and give you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
