Stairlift Service Across Orange County

Orange County, CA

From the 1960s midcentury ranches in Mesa Verde — where cul-de-sac subdivisions, tree-lined streets, and split-level floor plans are standard and the conversation almost always starts with measuring the landing turn — to the 1950s cottages on the Westside where narrow stairwells, low ceiling clearances, and original Freedom Homes tract construction dictate rail placement, our team has mapped every block in the city. We know which Eastside two-stories near Newport Beach have the wider stairwells and hardwood treads that install in three hours flat, which South Coast Metro condos near South Coast Plaza require board-level FEHA accommodation requests, and which College Park homes near Orange Coast College have the 1960s split-level geometry that makes a straight rail impossible. The Costa Mesa Senior Center on Park Avenue is three blocks from some of our most frequent install neighborhoods — we've fielded referrals from their case management team for years. Because central Orange County is tightly connected, we also cover Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Irvine, and Tustin at the same rate — no travel surcharges, no zone premiums.

1966 Mesa Verde ranch — straight rail on refinished oak treads

Mesa Verde, CA Installed March 2026

A 1966 two-story ranch on a tree-lined Mesa Verde cul-de-sac with 14 refinished oak treads and a polished oak banister the homeowner had restored five years earlier. Mrs. Whitfield was adamant that nothing touch the banister — she'd paid $4,200 to have the original woodwork stripped and refinished in 2021. We mounted the rail directly into the oak treads using oak-rated lag bolts, ran the track along the wall side opposite the banister, and folded the seat flush at the bottom landing. Her bridge club meets in the upstairs den every Thursday. Two members asked for our card after seeing how invisible the rail is when parked.

College Park split-level — curved rail through the half-flight landing

College Park, CA Installed February 2026

A 1968 split-level in College Park near Orange Coast College with seven steps from the foyer to the main level, a 90-degree landing turn, and eight more steps to the bedrooms. The Nakamuras had lived there since 1975. Two other companies told them they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the full run during the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mrs. Nakamura from the foyer to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps onto the carpet rather than the top tread. The foundation had settled about a quarter-inch on the lower run over 56 years — we shimmed the rail brackets to keep the ride level.

1952 Westside cottage — straight rail on original stone-tile treads

Westside, CA Installed January 2026

A 1952 Freedom Homes tract cottage on the Westside with 12 original stone-tile treads and a narrow stairwell — 32 inches wall to wall. Mrs. Delgado's son called from San Diego and the initial phone consultation happened entirely in Spanish. The stairwell width ruled out wider rail models; we specified the slim-profile track at 10.5 inches, anchored into the stone tile with chemical-set masonry bolts, and left 21 inches of clear stair width for other household members. Luis conducted the full walkthrough bilingually. Mrs. Delgado rode the lift upstairs that afternoon for the first time in three months.

Eastside raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor rail on flagstone steps

Eastside, CA Installed December 2025

A 1962 Eastside two-story three blocks from Newport Beach with a raised front entry, eight flagstone steps, and mature bougainvillea along the handrail. Mr. Brennan is a Navy veteran who qualified for an HISA grant through VA Long Beach — the Santa Ana community clinic processed the prescription in under three weeks. The outdoor lift is UV-coated for the Southern California sun, sealed against the coastal moisture that rolls in from the Pacific every morning, and anchored into the flagstone with chemical-set bolts rated for the stone thickness. Stainless fasteners throughout — standard on every Orange County coastal install.

Mesa del Mar two-story — straight rail on thick carpet over plywood subfloor

Mesa del Mar, CA Installed November 2025

A 1974 two-story in Mesa del Mar with 13 heavily carpeted treads and a plywood subfloor — the thick shag carpet had been replaced twice but the original plywood beneath hadn't been touched since construction. Mr. Chen had a knee replacement at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach and needed the lift installed before he came home. We measured on Monday, confirmed the subfloor could hold the standard lag bolts (it could — 3/4-inch structural plywood), installed on Wednesday, and Mr. Chen rode the lift from the front door to his upstairs bedroom six days after surgery without bearing weight on the stairs once.

Platform Lift

South Coast Metro condo — indoor wheelchair platform lift between levels

South Coast Metro, CA Installed October 2025

A 2006 multi-level condo in South Coast Metro where Mrs. Okafor uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — she needed to stay in the chair. We installed an indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges on the platform perimeter, upper and lower landing gates, and a constant-pressure control so the lift only moves while the button is held. The FEHA reasonable-accommodation packet was submitted to the HOA on day one and approved in 12 days. The platform folds vertically against the wall when not in use, leaving the stairwell clear for other residents. Mrs. Okafor's aide said it cut their daily transfer count from six to two.

Common Questions

Everything Costa Mesa Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Costa Mesa right now?

Straight rails in standard Costa Mesa homes — the Mesa Verde ranches, the Eastside two-stories, the Westside cottages — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level landings common in Mesa Verde and College Park run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised porches and exterior entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Costa Mesa than other parts of Orange County?

Equipment prices are identical across California — we don't inflate quotes based on zip code. What varies slightly is install complexity: a curved-rail install in a Mesa Verde split-level with settled treads takes longer than a straight run in an Eastside two-story. We show you the line items upfront. No surprise premiums, no hidden zone charges.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Orange County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of Costa Mesa families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for condo or HOA installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. With homeownership at just 39.4% in Costa Mesa, a large share of our work involves condo associations and HOA boards. California's FEHA requires associations to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities. We provide the FEHA accommodation-request packet at no charge and have worked with boards across South Coast Metro, Mesa del Mar, and the Eastside. If a board requires its own engineer's letter, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Most Costa Mesa families call me after something specific — a fall on the polished tile stairs in a Mesa Verde ranch, a parent stuck on the ground floor of a 1960s two-story for months after hip surgery, a daughter in Seattle who found out her mother hasn't been upstairs since Thanksgiving. My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
