Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Middlesex County

Middlesex County, MA

From the historic homes along Monument Street and Lexington Road — where 18th-century colonials sit on large wooded lots with steep, narrow original staircases and low clearances — to the mid-century ranches and split-levels in the Conantum neighborhood with their architect-designed open floor plans, our team has measured staircases across every part of Concord. West Concord's Victorian-era homes near the rail depot feature tight stairwells and hardwood treads original to the 1890s. The Nine Acre Corner area has postwar capes and colonials with standard 36-inch-wide runs. Homes along the Sudbury River near Nashawtuc Hill often have walkout basements with exterior stairs that benefit from outdoor-rated lifts. The newer subdivisions off Walden Street have wider staircases and carpeted treads that accept standard rail mounting without modification.

1780 Monument Street colonial — straight rail on original hardwood treads

Monument Street, MA Installed March 2026

A 1780 colonial on Monument Street with 14 original hardwood treads and a painted wooden banister dating to the Federal period. Mrs. Walsh had been sleeping in the den for three weeks after knee replacement surgery at Emerson Hospital because the steep stairs to the second-floor bedrooms were too risky. We drove over the next morning, laser-measured the 15-foot run, confirmed the dense hardwood treads could accept the mounting hardware without splitting, and installed the same week. The rail parks flush against the wall at the bottom. The original wainscoting was never touched. Mrs. Walsh slept in her own bed that night for the first time in a month.

1958 Conantum split-level — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Conantum, MA Installed February 2026

A 1958 architect-designed split-level in the Conantum neighborhood with six steps from the entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then seven more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Morrison is a retired Army officer who has lived in this house since 1986. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. His VA provider at the Bedford VA Healthcare Center wrote the HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost.

West Concord Victorian — slim-profile rail on steep narrow staircase

West Concord, MA Installed January 2026

An 1892 Victorian near the West Concord rail depot with a steep, narrow staircase only 30 inches wide between the original oak banister and the plaster wall. The homeowner had been avoiding the second floor since a fall on the landing last autumn. We confirmed the dense hardwood treads gave the slim-profile rail solid anchoring — folded, the seat and rail together take up just 11 inches, leaving 19 inches of clear passage. We never touched the original banister or crown molding. The Brennans' visiting nurse said it was the cleanest install she'd seen in the Metrowest area.

Nashawtuc Hill home — outdoor lift on icy walkout basement stairs

Nashawtuc Hill, MA Installed December 2025

A 1965 colonial near Nashawtuc Hill with a walkout basement and seven concrete steps that ice over every winter during nor'easters. Mrs. Keane slipped on the top step last January and broke her wrist. Her daughter called us while she was still at Emerson Hospital. We measured the entry steps, installed the outdoor lift with heated rail contacts to prevent ice buildup, marine-grade stainless fasteners to resist the freeze-thaw cycle, and a fitted cover. The battery backup kept the lift running through two February power outages. Mrs. Keane uses that entrance daily without worrying about the ice.

Nine Acre Corner colonial — straight rail, same-week install

Nine Acre Corner, MA Installed November 2025

A postwar colonial near Nine Acre Corner with a standard 36-inch-wide staircase and carpeted treads. Mr. Doyle's son in New York called on Monday, we measured Tuesday morning, and the install crew was at the house Thursday. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. The seat folds flat against the wall, and the wider treads in this newer construction made it one of the cleanest installs we've done in Concord. Mr. Doyle takes the commuter rail into Boston and says knowing the stairs are handled when he gets home changed his daily routine.

Platform Lift

West Concord home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

West Concord, MA Installed October 2025

A two-story home in West Concord where Mr. Hanley uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren can't activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum, and the MassHealth Frail Elder Waiver covered the remaining balance through his case manager at Minuteman Senior Services. Mr. Hanley rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Concord Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Concord, MA?

Straight rails in standard Concord homes — the capes near Nine Acre Corner, the colonials along Walden Street, the ranches off Sudbury Road — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the landing turns and L-shapes found in historic homes along Monument Street and Lexington Road run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and walkout basement stairs run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Concord stairlift prices higher than other Middlesex County towns?

Equipment prices are identical across eastern Massachusetts — we charge the same in Concord as we do in Acton, Maynard, or Sudbury. What varies is install complexity: an 18th-century colonial on Monument Street with original plaster walls and a 28-inch-wide stairwell takes more time than a 1990s colonial off Walden Street with 36-inch treads. We list every line item on the written quote so you see exactly what you're paying for before you commit.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving out of my Concord home?

Moving costs in Concord's housing market — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $40,000 to $80,000 given current Middlesex County home values. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've lived in for decades, on the street you know, near Emerson Hospital and the doctors you already see. For most Concord families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing in Concord?

Yes. We offer fixed-rate financing from $79 per month with no prepayment penalties. Most Concord homeowners choose 36- or 60-month terms. You can also combine financing with VA HISA grant funds, MassHealth Frail Elder Waiver coverage, or the Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP) through MassAbility to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket cost. We walk you through every option during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Concord homeowners usually reach out after the same realization — the colonial they raised their family in, the one on Monument Street or Lowell Road or down near the Sudbury River, has stairs that no longer work for them. A knee replacement recovery. A spouse who stopped going upstairs after a fall at Emerson Hospital. An adult child in Cambridge who noticed Dad gripping the banister with both hands last Thanksgiving.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
