Stairlift Service Across Wake County

Wake County, NC

From the two-story colonials of Preston — where the conversation is almost always about preserving refinished oak treads and matching the seat color to the foyer woodwork — to the late-1980s Lochmere subdivisions around Lake Lochmere, where L-shaped landings and Williamsburg-inspired Cape Cods require curved-rail fabrication, our team has measured stairs in every major Cary neighborhood. Amberly townhomes have compact 34-inch stairways with stone-tile-to-carpet transitions. MacGregor Downs homes feature wide carpeted staircases with brass handrails. Weston's raised front entries need outdoor lifts sealed against Piedmont humidity. We also cover Morrisville, Apex, Holly Springs, and Raleigh at the same rate.

Straight

Preston colonial — straight rail on original oak treads, beige seat

Preston, NC Installed March 2026

A 1990s two-story colonial in the Preston subdivision with fourteen oak treads and a dark walnut banister the homeowner had refinished two years ago. We mounted the rail directly into the oak treads without touching the banister or the wall paint, specified the beige seat to complement the warm tones in the foyer, and added a swivel-exit at the upper landing so she steps off onto the hallway carpet instead of twisting on the top tread. The lift folds flat against the right wall — her husband still carries laundry up the left side without brushing it.

Lochmere two-story — curved rail with 90° turn at the upper landing

Lochmere, NC Installed February 2026

A late-1980s two-story in Lochmere's Williamsburg Commons section — the staircase wraps 90 degrees at the upper landing before opening onto the bedroom hallway, with a chandelier hanging dead center over the turn. We laser-scanned the staircase, designed the curved rail to thread under the chandelier with four inches of clearance at the headrest, and fabricated a brown seat that matches the existing oak handrail. Mr. Patel rode the lift home from the front door on day one of recovery after his second knee replacement at Duke Raleigh Hospital. The chandelier is still exactly where it has been since 1989.

Amberly townhome — compact straight rail, brown seat, stone-tile entry

Amberly, NC Installed January 2026

A 2012 townhome in Amberly's villa section with a compact staircase — stone-tile treads on the first three steps transitioning to carpet on the upper run, cozy 34-inch width between walls. We specified a slim-profile brown seat that folds to just 11 inches from the wall, allowing her husband to pass comfortably on the left. The rail mounts into the stone treads with chemical-set anchors on the lower section and standard wood screws on the carpeted upper run. A wooden sideboard with a potted plant sits beside the bottom landing — the lift parks without blocking it.

Outdoor

Weston front entry — outdoor lift on stone paver steps

Weston, NC Installed December 2025

A 2000s colonial in the Weston subdivision with a raised front entry — six stone paver steps from the driveway to the front door, no handrail on either side. The outdoor lift has a cream seat with UV-resistant upholstery, marine-grade rail coating rated for North Carolina humidity, and chemical-set anchors into the stone pavers. The HOA architectural review committee in Weston approved the installation in nine days using our standard accommodation packet. Mr. Franklin qualified for a VA HISA grant through the Durham VA Medical Center covering $6,800 of the cost.

MacGregor Downs — straight rail on plush carpet, brown seat

MacGregor Downs, NC Installed November 2025

A 1980s traditional in MacGregor Downs with a wide carpeted staircase — twelve treads, plush cream carpet, and a brass handrail the homeowner was not willing to replace. We bolted the rail through the carpet and pad into the wooden substructure beneath, mounted a brown seat that parks flush at the bottom landing where the tiled foyer meets the first carpeted tread. The brown upholstery blends with the warm carpet tones. Total time on-site was just under three hours. Mrs. Whitfield's grandchildren fight over who gets to ride it when they visit.

Platform Lift

Cary ranch addition — indoor wheelchair platform lift between levels

West Cary, NC Installed October 2025

A 1990s ranch-style home in western Cary with a three-step split between the main living area and a bedroom addition built in 2004. We installed an indoor wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides, and automatic gate arms at top and bottom. The platform runs on standard 120V household current with a battery backup that carries five full cycles during a power outage. The orange-toned walls and natural window light frame the installation against the indoor stairway. Mr. Torres rolls on, presses one button, and rolls off at the lower level.

Common Questions

Everything Cary Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Cary right now?

Straight rails in standard Cary two-story homes — the colonials in Preston, the family homes in Lochmere, the townhomes in Amberly — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for L-shaped landings in older Lochmere sections and some MacGregor Downs floor plans, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Cary than in Raleigh or Apex?

Equipment prices are identical across Wake County — we don't inflate quotes for Preston or MacGregor Downs addresses. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: chemical-set anchors into stone-tile treads in Amberly townhomes, curved-rail fabrication for the L-shaped landings in Lochmere, or HOA paperwork windows in communities with architectural review committees. We itemize everything upfront on the written quote.

Does Cary's HOA approval process add cost or delay?

Our quote includes the HOA documentation we prepare for you. Cary has more HOA-governed communities than almost any town in Wake County — Preston, Amberly, Lochmere, Weston, MacGregor Downs, and Carpenter Village all have architectural review committees. Under the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, HOAs must permit reasonable accessibility accommodations. We provide the accommodation-request packet at no charge. Typical approval runs 7-14 days. The only potential added cost is if your board requires a third-party engineer's letter — we tell you before we start.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Cary assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis handles consultations across the Triangle in both languages. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

A word from Luis

Most Cary families call me after a parent starts avoiding the upstairs bedrooms in their Preston colonial or Lochmere two-story — a knee replacement recovery, a hip that won't cooperate with fourteen oak treads anymore, a spouse in Amberly whose doctor said no more stairs until further notice.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
