Stairlift Service Across Racine County

Racine County, WI

From the turn-of-the-century Victorians and foursquares lining Milwaukee Avenue and Pine Street in Burlington's historic downtown — where steep hardwood stairs built before 1920 are the rule, not the exception — to the 1970s ranch homes and split-levels along Honey Creek Road on the west side, our crew has measured staircases across every Burlington neighborhood. Browns Lake homes on the east side feature walkout basements with interior stairs leading to upper bedrooms. Fox River Estates and the homes along Yahnke Road have wider modern staircases with open floor plans that simplify installs. Wehmhoff-Jucker Park area homes along Calumet Street are compact postwar Cape Cods with narrow treads and tight newel posts. The Spring Prairie area south of town has larger farmstead-style homes where curved rails handle L-shaped stairways in one continuous ride.

Downtown Victorian on Milwaukee Avenue — straight rail on original hardwood treads

Downtown Burlington, WI Installed March 2026

A turn-of-the-century Victorian on Milwaukee Avenue with original hardwood treads and a carved walnut banister the Whitfields have maintained for 30 years. Mrs. Whitfield had been sleeping in the downstairs parlor for a month after knee replacement surgery at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington because the steep stairs were off-limits. We drove out, measured the 15-foot run with a laser, confirmed the century-old oak could accept the mounting hardware without splitting, and installed the same week. The brown-upholstered seat parks flush against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Whitfield slept in her own bed that night.

Pine Street foursquare — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Pine Street, WI Installed February 2026

A 1905 American Foursquare on Pine Street with seven steps from the front entry to the landing, a 90-degree turn, then eight more steps to the second floor. Mr. Morrison worked at the Nestlé chocolate plant in Burlington for 25 years and has lived in this house since 1988. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top. His VA provider at the Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee wrote the HISA prescription, and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost. One ride, zero transfers.

Honey Creek Road ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Honey Creek Road, WI Installed January 2026

A 1970s ranch on Honey Creek Road with carpeted stairs to the finished basement and a standard 36-inch-wide staircase. The brown-upholstered seat sits at the top of the stairs next to the family's coat closet and a potted plant Mrs. Anderson keeps by the landing. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. Folded, the seat and rail take up 11 inches, leaving 25 inches of clear passage. The grandchildren who visit from Elkhorn every Sunday run past it without a second glance.

Browns Lake home — outdoor lift on icy front porch steps

Browns Lake, WI Installed December 2025

A lake house near Browns Lake with six concrete front steps that iced over every winter from November through March. Mr. Fletcher had already fallen twice on the icy steps before his daughter called us. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the bottom, ready when he comes home from errands. Every component is freeze-rated to minus 20 degrees for Wisconsin winters, UV-stabilized for summer sun, and carries an IP55 seal against snow, ice, and rain. The battery backup kept the lift running through a two-day cold-snap power outage last January.

Calumet Street Cape Cod — straight rail on narrow treads, same-week install

Calumet Street, WI Installed November 2025

A postwar Cape Cod on Calumet Street near Wehmhoff-Jucker Park with narrow treads and a tight newel post at the bottom. Mrs. Kim's daughter called on Monday, we measured Tuesday afternoon, and the install crew arrived Thursday morning. The Racine County Aging and Disability Resource Center connected the family with the Community Options Program, which covered the full cost. The slim-profile rail clears the tight newel by three inches, and the swivel seat at the top lets Mrs. Kim step off onto the upstairs landing facing the hallway. She was riding it by Thursday evening.

Platform Lift

Fox River Estates — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Fox River Estates, WI Installed October 2025

A split-level home in Fox River Estates where Mr. Price uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered $6,800 and the IRIS waiver through Wisconsin Medicaid covered the remaining balance. Mr. Price rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Burlington Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Burlington, WI?

Straight rails in standard Burlington homes — the ranch homes near Honey Creek Road, the Cape Cods on Calumet Street, the lake houses near Browns Lake — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most downtown Victorians and foursquares with landing turns, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries and porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Burlington prices different from Racine or Milwaukee?

Equipment prices are the same across Wisconsin — we do not inflate or discount based on metro size. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow pre-1920 treads in downtown Burlington homes, steep basement-to-bedroom runs in Browns Lake houses, and the freeze-rated lubricant we spec on every Wisconsin install to handle sub-zero winters. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. We list every line item on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Racine County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposits — typically run $12,000 to $25,000 given current Burlington home values. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've lived in for decades, in the neighborhood you know, near your doctors and your community. For most Burlington families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Burlington homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, Wisconsin's home accessibility programs, or Racine County Aging and Disability Resource Center benefits so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Burlington calls usually come from families near the Fox River — a retired factory foreman from the Nestlé plant whose back went out last winter, a grandmother on Milwaukee Avenue whose daughter in Elkhorn worries about the steep basement stairs, a Korean War-era veteran on Pine Street whose VA provider at the Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee wrote the HISA prescription months ago but he never followed up.

I drive out, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
