Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Somerset County

Somerset County, NJ

From the brick-front colonials and center-hall Georgians lining the cul-de-sacs of Green Knoll — where staircases tend to be wide, carpeted, and two full flights — to the 1960s split-levels and raised ranches of Finderne with their half-flight entry stairs and 90-degree landings, our team has measured staircases across every Bridgewater neighborhood. Bradley Gardens homes mix Cape Cods with bi-levels on compact lots. The newer construction along Route 202/206 corridor features open-foyer two-stories with vaulted ceilings. Chimney Rock area residences sit on sloped lots where raised front entries need outdoor lifts for six or seven concrete steps. Somerset County winters bring ice on those front steps from December through March, so outdoor installs get weather-sealed motor housings and battery backup rated for below-freezing conditions.

Straight

Green Knoll colonial — straight rail on fourteen carpeted treads

Green Knoll, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1972 center-hall colonial in Green Knoll with fourteen carpeted treads and a wide stairwell typical of the neighborhood's brick-front homes. Mrs. Moretti had been sleeping in the first-floor study for six weeks after hip replacement surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset because the long flight to the bedrooms was off-limits per her surgeon. We laser-measured the 15-foot run, confirmed the subflooring beneath the carpet could accept the mounting hardware, and installed the same week. The rail parks flush against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Moretti slept in her own bed that night for the first time in over a month.

Finderne split-level — curved rail through a 90-degree landing turn

Finderne, NJ Installed February 2026

A 1963 split-level in Finderne with six steps from the front entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Kowalski is a retired machinist who worked at the Bridgewater industrial park for 28 years and has lived in this house since 1988. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. His VA provider at the Lyons VA Medical Center wrote the HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost.

Bradley Gardens Cape Cod — slim-profile rail in narrow enclosed stairwell

Bradley Gardens, NJ Installed January 2026

A 1950s Cape Cod in Bradley Gardens with a narrow enclosed stairwell only 32 inches wide between the original banister and the plaster wall. The dense old-growth hardwood treads gave the slim-profile rail solid anchoring — folded, the seat and rail together take up just 11 inches, leaving 21 inches of clear passage. We never touched the original banister. Mrs. Sullivan's visiting nurse said it was the cleanest install she had seen in an older Bridgewater home.

Chimney Rock raised entry — outdoor lift on seven icy concrete steps

Chimney Rock, NJ Installed December 2025

A ranch on a sloped lot in the Chimney Rock area with a raised front entry and seven concrete steps that collect ice and road salt from December through March. Mrs. Simmons slipped on black ice last January and fractured her wrist catching herself on the railing. Her son called the next day. We installed the outdoor lift with marine-grade stainless fasteners anchored into the concrete, an IP55-sealed motor housing that keeps out ice and salt spray, and a fitted cover that sheds snow. The battery backup kept the lift running through the February nor'easter when the neighborhood lost power overnight.

Route 202 corridor home — straight rail, same-week install

Route 202 Corridor, NJ Installed November 2025

A newer two-story colonial along the Route 202 corridor with a standard 36-inch-wide staircase and carpeted treads in an open foyer. Mr. Randall's daughter in Manhattan called on Monday, we measured Tuesday, and the install crew was at the house Thursday morning. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. The seat folds flat against the wall, and the wider staircase made it one of the cleanest installs we have done in Bridgewater. The installer explained every button twice and left a printed manual on the wall next to the controls.

Platform Lift

Route 202 home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Route 202 Corridor, NJ Installed October 2025

A two-story home along Route 202 where Mr. Torres uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum. Mr. Torres rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Bridgewater Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bridgewater, NJ?

Straight rails in standard Bridgewater homes — the colonials in Green Knoll, the split-levels in Finderne, the raised ranches along Route 202 — run $2,450 to $4,850 installed. Curved rails for landing turns in Bradley Gardens bi-levels and Finderne split-levels run $7,900 to $13,200 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches in Chimney Rock run $3,500 to $6,600. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a ranch home in Somerset County?

Moving costs in Somerset County — real estate commission on a $550,000+ home, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $30,000 to $60,000 minimum. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,450 to $4,850 and lets you stay in the home you own, in the school district you chose, near the doctors and neighbors you already have. For most Bridgewater families, the stairlift costs less than the realtor's commission alone.

Do you offer financing in Bridgewater?

Yes. We offer fixed-rate financing from $70 per month with no prepayment penalties. Most Bridgewater homeowners choose 36- or 60-month terms. You can also combine financing with VA HISA grant funds or the NJ JACC program to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket cost. We walk you through every option during the free assessment.

Are outdoor stairlifts more expensive because of New Jersey winters?

No. Weather-sealed motor housings, corrosion-resistant hardware, and UV-stabilized upholstery are baseline on every Bridgewater outdoor install — not an upcharge. Somerset County gets freezing rain, ice storms, and road salt from December through March that corrode unprotected hardware within two seasons. We spec marine-grade stainless fasteners, IP55-sealed motor housings, and battery backup that operates in below-freezing temperatures. These are standard on every outdoor quote.

A word from Luis

Bridgewater families usually call after a turning point — a fall on the carpeted stairs in a Finderne split-level, a father who stopped going upstairs after knee surgery at Robert Wood Johnson, a daughter in Manhattan who found out her mother has been sleeping in the first-floor study for weeks rather than tackle the long staircase in the family's Green Knoll colonial.

My job is direct: drive to your house within 24 hours, laser-measure every tread, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
