Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Somerset County

Somerset County, NJ

From the pre-war Colonials along Vosseller Avenue to the post-war capes on Boesel Avenue, from the older two-stories near the Main Street corridor to the raised ranches in Mountain View and the split-levels above Tea Street, our team has measured stairs on every block in Bound Brook. We know which Main Street rowhouses have the 28-inch stairwells that require the compact-profile rail, which Vosseller homes have the turn at the upper landing, and which Mountain View split-levels have the half-flight with non-standard tread depth.

Because Bound Brook borders South Bound Brook, Middlesex, and Bridgewater, we cover the entire Somerset County corridor without additional travel charges.

Original oak treads in a 1928 Vosseller Avenue Colonial — beige seat, banister preserved

Vosseller Avenue, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1928 Colonial on Vosseller Avenue with original oak treads and the ornate banister the homeowner refused to let anyone touch. Two other companies proposed wall-mounted brackets. We bolted the compact-profile rail directly into the oak treads — no wall contact, no banister contact, no plaster damage. The beige seat folds to 11 inches, leaving enough clearance for the homeowner's grandchildren to pass on the stairs. Mr. Hernandez Sr. rides it every morning and evening without assistance.

Custom curved rail around a post-flood landing turn on Main Street

Main Street, NJ Installed February 2026

A two-story near Main Street where the family relocated all living spaces upstairs after Tropical Storm Ida flooded the ground floor in 2021. The L-shaped staircase has a 90-degree turn at the mid-landing. We laser-scanned the staircase, designed the curved rail to clear the newel post by two inches, and fabricated a single continuous track from the entry hall to the upper bedrooms. The brown seat matches the existing woodwork. Mrs. Morales's mother rides it every day without giving the turn a second thought.

Split-level half-flight with shimmed treads in Mountain View

Mountain View, NJ Installed January 2026

A 1960s split-level in Mountain View with the half-flight staircase common in that era — seven treads with non-standard depth that throws off a factory rail mount. Other companies quoted custom fabrication at premium prices. We used our adjustable shim kit to bring every tread to spec, bolted the standard rail down, and verified zero deflection under full load. The ivory seat folds flat against the wall, leaving the narrow split-level hallway fully passable.

Freeze-proof outdoor rail on brick front steps on Boesel Avenue

Boesel Avenue, NJ Installed December 2025

A 1948 Cape Cod on Boesel Avenue with five brick front steps that ice over every winter. Mr. Torres is a 91-year-old Korean War veteran who has lived alone since his wife passed. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the base of the entry. The freeze-proof battery rode through the January 2026 nor'easter without a hiccup. The HISA grant through the Lyons VA in Basking Ridge covered $6,800 of the cost. Every component is galvanized and rated for New Jersey's 50+ annual freeze-thaw cycles.

Steep 1948 Cape Cod staircase with adjustable-angle mount in Bound Brook Heights

Bound Brook Heights, NJ Installed November 2025

A 1948 Cape Cod in Bound Brook Heights with the steepest interior staircase we've measured in Bound Brook — a pitch well beyond modern code. The adjustable-angle mount brought the seat to a comfortable riding position on the first try. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage. The seat swivels at the upper landing so Mr. Rivera's father-in-law steps off onto the hallway floor instead of balancing on the top tread.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran on Tea Street

Tea Street, NJ Installed October 2025

A two-story home on Tea Street where the homeowner uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so the grandchildren can't activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum, and NJ JACC covered additional monthly care costs at $1,090/month. He rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides to the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Bound Brook Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bound Brook right now?

Straight rails in standard Bound Brook homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for Main Street L-shaped staircases and Vosseller Avenue Colonial turns — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured. Outdoor models with freeze-proof hardware run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is Bound Brook more expensive than Bridgewater or Somerville for installation?

Equipment prices are identical across Somerset County. We don't adjust quotes based on zip code or town. Bound Brook families do tend to use grant funding at higher rates than surrounding towns — NJ JACC, the VA HISA grant, and NJ Medicaid HCBS waiver are all heavily used here. We walk every family through the funding options during the free assessment.

Do narrow pre-war stairs cost more to install?

The compact-profile rail fits staircases as narrow as 26 inches, which covers the vast majority of Bound Brook's older homes along Main Street and the pre-war blocks. Narrow stairs don't increase the equipment price. Occasionally the century-old treads need a backing plate to distribute the bolt load, which adds $50–$100 in hardware. We tell you at the assessment, not on install day.

If my home was raised after the floods, does that change the price?

Several Bound Brook homes were elevated after Tropical Storm Ida and Hurricane Irene. If the elevation added or lengthened interior stairs, the rail length may increase — a longer rail costs more than a shorter one. If you added exterior stairs to a new raised entry, an outdoor-rated unit is required. Either way, we measure at the assessment and the written quote reflects the exact configuration. No surprises.

A word from Luis

Bound Brook is a mile square with a lot of history packed into it — pre-war Colonials along Vosseller Avenue, post-war capes on Boesel, and the older two-stories near Main Street that have been here since the trolley days. I've measured stairs in all of them.

The flooding shaped this town. After Tropical Storm Ida in 2021, several families raised their living spaces to the upper floor and suddenly needed a stairlift they never planned on. The Lyons VA in nearby Basking Ridge handles HISA grants for Somerset County veterans — I've done the paperwork dozens of times. And if you qualify for NJ JACC, that's up to $1,090 a month toward staying in your home.
