Stairlift Service Across King County

King County, WA

Downtown Auburn has 1910s-1930s Craftsman bungalows with original oak treads and steep staircases. The rail bolts into the treads without touching the banister or newel post — we've color-matched rail finishes to century-old oak here dozens of times.

Lea Hill east of SR-167 mixes 1960s split-levels with post-2005 subdivisions. The split-levels are Auburn's most common curved-rail install because the 90-degree landing turn becomes a fall risk with age. Newer homes are typically straight runs that wrap in three hours.

West Hill and the Green River Valley floor hold the most affordable owner-occupied housing — 1950s cottages, 1970s ramblers, and manufactured homes. Many residents qualify for the COPES waiver through DSHS-ALTSA. We also cover Algona, Pacific, Lake Holm, and Lakeland with no travel surcharge.

1926 downtown Craftsman — rail color-matched to original oak treads

Downtown Auburn, WA Installed March 2026

A 1926 Craftsman bungalow three blocks from Auburn Avenue with original quarter-sawn oak treads and a Douglas fir banister the family has maintained for a century. Mrs. Nakamura's first words on the phone were clear: nothing touches the banister. We color-matched the rail finish to the century-old oak and bolted every bracket into the treads — the banister, wall, and newel post remain untouched.

90° landing turn in a 1968 Lea Hill split-level — one rail, zero transfers

Lea Hill, WA Installed February 2026

A 1968 split-level ranch on Lea Hill with five steps from the entry to the main living area and eight more up to the bedrooms, connected by a 90-degree landing. Two companies told the Guerreros they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the full run and fabricated one continuous curved rail — entry to bedrooms in a single ride, no transfers at the landing.

Green River Valley cottage — stone-entry stairs, compact rail beside the original built-in

Green River Valley, WA Installed January 2026

A 1947 worker cottage on the Green River Valley floor with stone-tile entry treads and a narrow staircase leading up to two bedrooms. Mrs. Lundgren has lived there since 1979 and was firm: nothing changes, nothing moves, the house stays as it is. We installed the compact-profile rail beside her original built-in cabinet without moving a single piece of furniture.

Raised front porch on West Hill — stone-paved entry, marine-grade outdoor lift

West Hill, WA Installed December 2025

A 1952 rambler on West Hill with a raised front porch and seven exterior stone-paved steps — the only path from the driveway to the front door. Mr. Hensley is a retired Army supply sergeant who served at Fort Lewis before it merged into JBLM. His HISA grant through VA Puget Sound covered most of the cost. The marine-grade epoxy rail and IP55 weather-sealed motor handle every season in the valley.

Lakeland two-story — carpeted stairs, swivel-exit, COPES-funded

Lakeland, WA Installed November 2025

A 1989 two-story in the Lakeland area south of Auburn proper with 14 carpeted treads and a landing that drops straight into the upstairs hallway. Mrs. Okafor qualified for the COPES waiver through DSHS-ALTSA — we coordinated with her HCS case manager and handled every piece of paperwork. The swivel seat at the top makes stepping off onto the carpet safe and simple.

Indoor wheelchair platform for a Lea Hill split-entry — HISA-funded

Lea Hill, WA Installed October 2025

Mr. Reyes was injured during a training exercise at JBLM and now uses a power wheelchair full-time. The Lea Hill split-entry home has six steps from the garage level to the main floor. A seated stairlift wouldn't work — he needs to stay in his chair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform with a flat anti-slip surface, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and white handrails inside the indoor stairway. His HISA grant through VA Puget Sound covered the full cost.

Common Questions

Everything Auburn Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Auburn, WA right now?

Straight rails in standard Auburn homes — downtown Craftsmans, Lea Hill ranches, West Hill ramblers — run $3,200 to $6,250 installed. Curved rails for Lea Hill split-levels with landing turns run $10,250 to $17,100 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for the raised front porches common on West Hill run $4,550 to $8,550. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and first service visit.

Are Auburn stairlift prices different from Seattle or Bellevue?

Equipment prices are identical whether you live in Auburn, Kent, Federal Way, or Bellevue — we don't inflate quotes by zip code. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: century-old Craftsman treads downtown, stone entries on the valley floor, or HOA paperwork in newer Lea Hill developments. We itemize everything upfront.

Does the marine-grade outdoor coating cost extra in Auburn?

No. Every outdoor Auburn install ships with marine-grade rail coating standard — the Green River Valley's fog, rain, and moisture demand it. National chains price this as a $400 add-on. We include it because an outdoor rail in south King County without marine coating starts corroding within 18 months.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift available in Auburn?

Used straight rails run $1,500 to $2,800 installed — roughly half the cost of new. We recondition every unit in-house: new batteries, new upholstery, factory-tested motor and safety sensors. Curved rails cannot be reused because each track is fabricated to one specific staircase. If your Lea Hill ranch or downtown bungalow has a standard straight run, a refurbished unit is a solid option with the same labor warranty.

A word from Luis

Most Auburn families call me after something has already gone wrong — a slip on the hardwood in a downtown Craftsman, a retired soldier from JBLM who can't reach the upstairs bedroom after surgery at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, a daughter in Seattle worried about her mother alone in a West Hill rambler.

I drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. The Green River Valley has steep Craftsman bungalows, Lea Hill split-levels with 90-degree landings, and stone-entry ramblers on West Hill — I've measured every type. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
