Stairlift Service Across Placer County

Placer County, CA

Auburn's housing reads like a timeline. The Old Auburn Historic District — Maple, Commercial, Court, and Lincoln Way — holds the 1860s-1890s Gold Rush Victorians on the National Register: narrow original treads, hand-carved banisters, plaster walls. Up the ridge in Aeolia Heights, postwar bungalows replaced an old olive orchard. Bowman and Christian Valley west of town are unincorporated 1970s-1990s ranches with carpeted standard runs. Above town along Foresthill Road, custom hillside homes have switchback staircases cut into the foothill grade. Out toward Ophir the lots widen, and along Lincoln Way the multi-level builds need curved rails for split-foyer geometry.

1890s Old Town Victorian — straight rail on original hardwood treads

Old Auburn Historic District, CA Installed March 2026

An 1890s Victorian on Sacramento Street in the Old Auburn Historic District, with 13 original oak treads and a hand-carved banister the Garrisons have polished since 1992. Mrs. Garrison had been sleeping on the parlor sofa for two weeks after hip surgery at Sutter Auburn Faith.

China Hill hillside home — curved rail through a 90° upper-landing turn

China Hill, CA Installed February 2026

A custom hillside home on China Hill: eight steps from the main floor to a 90-degree upper landing, then seven more to the bedroom suite. Three other companies told the Novaks the geometry was too complex for one rail. Luis digitally scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated one continuous curved rail, and parked the brown seat at the upper landing.

Old Town cottage — straight rail on stone treads beside the family sideboard

Aeolia Heights, CA Installed January 2026

A compact 1880s miner's cottage at the edge of Aeolia Heights — light-stone tile treads, low overhead clearance, an old wooden sideboard along the stairwell wall the Mitchells inherited with the house. The stairwell is 28 inches wide. Luis bolted the slim-profile rail directly into the stone-set stair stringers, set the brown seat at the bottom beside the sideboard. No carpet, no drywall touched, original 1880s plaster intact.

Ophir home — outdoor lift on flagstone rear deck stairs

Ophir, CA Installed December 2025

A foothill home in Ophir with seven flagstone deck stairs from the backyard to the main living level. Mr. Kimura had already fallen once on rain-slicked stone carrying groceries up. The cream seat parks at the bottom of the stone treads, IP55-sealed motor, UV-stabilized for Sierra foothill sun above 100°F. The battery backup kept the lift running through a PG&E PSPS shutoff last October during fire-weather watches.

Christian Valley ranch — straight rail on carpeted upper-landing run, HISA-funded

Christian Valley, CA Installed November 2025

A 1970s ranch in Christian Valley with carpeted treads — warm tan pile that matches the brown seat upholstery — and tile flooring at the base where the rail ends. Mr. Jensen, retired Air Force, called after his VA primary care provider at the Louis A. Conter VA Clinic in Auburn recommended a stairlift for progressive neuropathy. HISA covered $6,800.

Platform Lift

Lincoln Way home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Lincoln Way, CA Installed October 2025

A multi-level home along Lincoln Way where Mr. Perez uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected injury. A seated stairlift was not an option. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift along the staircase: flat black anti-slip deck rated to 600 lb, yellow high-visibility safety edges, white handrail, keyed lockout for visiting grandchildren. The HISA grant covered $6,800 and the Medi-Cal HCBA Waiver covered the balance.

Common Questions

Everything Auburn Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Auburn, CA?

Straight rails in standard Auburn homes — the 1970s-1990s ranches in Bowman and Christian Valley, the postwar bungalows in Aeolia Heights — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the landing turns in Old Town Victorians and the hillside homes above Foresthill Road run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor lifts for raised entries and deck access run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Auburn prices different from Roseville or Rocklin?

Equipment prices are the same across the Sacramento metro — we do not adjust based on location. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow Victorian treads in the Old Auburn Historic District, hillside fabrication above Foresthill Road, and the UV-resistant coating we spec on every outdoor install for Sierra foothill sun. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. Every line item appears on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Placer County — agent commission, closing costs, packing, new deposits — typically run $30,000 to $55,000 given current Sacramento metro home values. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the Auburn home you have lived in for decades, near your doctors at Sutter Auburn Faith and your community. For most families here, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Auburn homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, the CalHFA Rehabilitation Loan, or the Medi-Cal HCBA Waiver so Auburn homeowners pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Auburn calls usually come after a scare on the stairs — a retired teacher in an Old Town Victorian on Sacramento Street who slipped on the polished oak landing, a veteran above Foresthill Road who has not been upstairs since shoulder surgery at Sutter Auburn Faith, a daughter in Roseville worried about her parents alone in the 1970s ranch on Lincoln Way they refuse to leave.

I drive out, laser-measure the staircase, hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. If you qualify for the HISA grant through the Louis A. Conter VA Clinic on Heritage Oak Place or the Medi-Cal HCBA Waiver, we start that paperwork the same visit.
