Straight Stairlift — Citrus Heights, CA

Straight Stairlift

Bestseller

The default for Citrus Heights' 1970s ranch homes — from Larchmont Northridge to Arcade Creek. Over 70% of our local installs are straight rails on homes built between 1970 and 1985. Most have a single straight staircase — 8 to 14 steps from the living area to the bedrooms. The rail bolts into your stair treads, never into the wall or banister. The seat and footrest fold flat when parked, the battery backup keeps you moving through Sacramento County's rare power outages, and most installs wrap in under four hours. If you have original hardwood treads, we match the bracket finish so the hardware disappears against the wood.

Starting at $3,250 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls
  • Soft start and soft stop motion
  • Fold-up seat, arms, and footrest
  • 10-year motor & gearbox warranty

Compared to Alternatives

vs Curved: 3x less expensive and installed in one visit. vs Home elevator: 10-15x less cost and no construction. vs Moving bedroom downstairs: Keeps your home exactly as it is.

Stairlift Service Across Sacramento County

Sacramento County, CA

From the 1970s ranch tracts along Sunrise Boulevard — where low-pile carpet on split-level stairs and raised front entries account for the majority of our Citrus Heights installs — to the Larchmont Northridge subdivision where 3- and 4-bedroom homes built in the 1970s sit on quiet cul-de-sacs with aging-in-place owners, our team knows which block needs what. We've installed in Sylvan Corners area homes where the original oak-dotted lots still have the raised foundations that require an outdoor entry lift, in Rusch Park neighborhood ranches where the basement stairs were the last barrier to staying home after surgery, and in Arcade Creek area homes where the HOA board required a reasonable-accommodation letter before approving visible exterior work.

Larchmont Northridge ranch — straight rail on original red-oak treads

Larchmont Northridge, CA Installed March 2026

A 1976 ranch in Larchmont Northridge with original red oak treads on the split-level stairs between the living room and the three bedrooms upstairs. Mrs. Fitzgerald's son drove down from Roseville after she mentioned she'd been avoiding the upstairs bathroom for two weeks rather than climbing the eight steps. The staircase is a clean straight run — no landing, no turn. We bolted the rail into the treads only, color-matched the finish to the existing oak, and folded the seat flush against the wall at the bottom so the hallway stays fully passable. Mrs. Fitzgerald was back in her own bedroom that evening.

Sunrise Boulevard split-level — curved rail through the 90° upper landing

Sunrise Boulevard, CA Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level off Sunrise Boulevard — the signature Citrus Heights floor plan. Four steps from the entry to the living level, a 90-degree landing, then seven more steps to the bedrooms. Two companies told the Sakamotos they'd need two separate lifts or a ramp that would eat half the hallway. We laser-scanned the full staircase during the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mrs. Sakamoto from the front entry to the upstairs hallway in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps off onto level floor instead of the top tread. The original 1972 subfloor had a slight dip at the landing — we shimmed the brackets so the ride stays perfectly level.

Sylvan Corners area ranch — straight rail on stone-finished garage entry

Sylvan Corners, CA Installed January 2026

A Sylvan Corners area ranch with a raised foundation and a five-step stone-finished staircase from the attached garage up to the kitchen level. Mr. Henderson is 81 and carries groceries in from the garage three times a week — those five steps with two bags of Raley's groceries had become the most dangerous part of his day. We bolted a straight rail into the stone treads with masonry anchors, added a folding seat that parks flush at the top, and tested it under load with Mr. Henderson and a full grocery trip. He rides up, sets the bags on the kitchen counter, and sends the chair back down with the remote.

Greenback Lane ranch — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone-paved front entry

Greenback Lane, CA Installed December 2025

A 1974 ranch near Greenback Lane with a raised stone-paved front entry — six steps from the walkway to the front door, fully exposed to Sacramento Valley sun. Mrs. Reyes's mother moved in from the Philippines and the front steps were her single biggest obstacle. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor rail with stainless mounting hardware, an IP55 sealed motor housing rated for Central Valley heat, and a UV-resistant seat cover that protects against the 100-plus-degree summer days that thin standard lubricants. The lift has run through one full Sacramento summer — triple-digit heat waves in July and August — without a service call.

Arcade Creek area — straight rail on deep-pile carpeted stairs

Arcade Creek, CA Installed November 2025

A 1979 two-story in the Arcade Creek area with deep-pile carpeted stairs — the plush nylon that was standard in every Sacramento County subdivision built in the late 1970s. Mrs. Okonkwo's daughter in North Highlands had been driving over every evening to help her mother up the stairs to bed. That's 14 round trips a week. We installed a straight rail through the carpet without removing or cutting it — the mounting brackets compress the pile and bolt into the subfloor below. The chair folds flat against the wall at the bottom, and the carpet shows no damage. Mrs. Okonkwo rides up on her own now.

Platform Lift

Rusch Park neighborhood — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Rusch Park, CA Installed October 2025

A 1971 ranch near Rusch Park where Mr. Dalton, a retired Air Force staff sergeant who served at the former Mather Air Force Base, uses a power wheelchair after a service-connected spinal injury. The home has a three-step rise between the garage and the main living area — too short for an interior ramp, too steep for his wife to push him up safely. We installed an enclosed indoor wheelchair platform lift with bright yellow safety edges along the platform perimeter, automatic folding ramps at top and bottom, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot operate it unsupervised. The lift carries Mr. Dalton and his 320-lb power chair from garage level to kitchen level in under 15 seconds. His HISA grant through the Sacramento VA Medical Center at Mather covered the full cost.

Common Questions

Everything Citrus Heights Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Citrus Heights right now?

Straight rails in standard Citrus Heights homes — the Larchmont Northridge ranches, the Arcade Creek two-stories, the Sunrise Boulevard split-levels — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-levels with landing turns cost $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised stone entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and the first service visit.

Does heat-rated motor housing cost extra in Sacramento County?

No. All Citrus Heights installs ship with IP55 sealed motor housings as baseline because Central Valley summers routinely exceed 105°F and standard lubricants thin at those temperatures. UV-resistant seat covers and heat-rated batteries are also standard on every outdoor install. These are included in the written quote — not added as line items after the fact.

Do you charge more for Spanish-language service?

No. Every assessment can be conducted in Spanish — Luis is fully bilingual. All quotes, consent forms, and operating manuals are available in Spanish at zero additional cost. About one in five Citrus Heights families we serve requests Spanish-language service.

Why is a curved rail so much more expensive than a straight rail?

A straight rail is a standard-length aluminum track cut to fit and bolted into your treads. A curved rail is custom-fabricated from a laser scan of your exact staircase — every angle, every rise, every turn is machined to within 1mm tolerance. The fabrication takes 10-14 days and the rail is unique to your home. That engineering and manufacturing cost is why curved rails for Citrus Heights split-levels start at $9,000 versus $2,800 for a straight run. If your split-level has a 90-degree landing turn, a curved rail is the only option for a single continuous ride.

A word from Luis

Most Citrus Heights families call me after a close call on the stairs — a slip on the carpeted steps of a 1970s ranch off Sunrise Boulevard, a father who stopped going down to the garage workshop after a hip replacement, a granddaughter in Portland worried about her grandmother in a Larchmont Northridge house she's owned since 1978. My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
