Stairlift Service Across Skagit County

Skagit County, WA

From the hilltop estates of Cap Sante — where mid-century homes and waterfront properties look across Fidalgo Bay toward the San Juans — to the Victorian cottages and Craftsman bungalows of Old Town, our team has measured staircases across every Anacortes neighborhood. Skyline's waterfront homes face constant salt spray off Burrows Bay that corrodes standard zinc hardware within 18 months. Marine Heights hillside houses have split-level entries with mid-landing turns that need custom curved rails. The Orchards takes standard straight runs on its newer construction. San Juan Passage's 99 traditionally-styled homes off the western shore mix indoor curved jobs with the occasional platform install. Every outdoor unit ships with 316 marine-grade stainless and IP55 motor housings as standard.

1912 Old Town Victorian — straight rail on original fir treads

Old Town, WA Installed March 2026

A 1912 Victorian in Old Town with 14 original Douglas fir treads and a narrow stairwell typical of turn-of-the-century island construction. Mrs. Henderson had been sleeping in the downstairs parlor for three weeks after hip surgery at Island Hospital. We laser-measured the 14-foot-6 run, confirmed the dense fir treads could accept the mounting hardware without splitting, and installed the same week. The beige seat parks flush at the bottom landing near the original oak banister.

1965 Marine Heights split-level — curved rail through a 90° landing

Marine Heights, WA Installed February 2026

A 1965 home in Marine Heights with a 90-degree landing turn between the entry and the upper bedrooms. Mr. Patterson is a retired Navy machinist who served at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto carpet. His VA provider at Mount Vernon VA Clinic wrote the HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost.

Cap Sante cottage — compact rail beside stone-tread entry and oak sideboard

Cap Sante, WA Installed January 2026

A compact older home on the Cap Sante hillside with 13 stone-and-tile treads and a wooden sideboard tucked into the narrow entry hall. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the bottom right next to the cabinet. The dense stone gave the rail solid anchoring — folded, the seat takes up just 11 inches and leaves clear passage past the sideboard. Mrs. Callahan's visiting nurse said it was the cleanest install she had seen in a tight Anacortes entryway.

Skyline waterfront home — outdoor lift with marine-grade hardware on salt-exposed porch

Skyline, WA Installed December 2025

A Skyline waterfront home with a raised entry porch and six flagstone steps that collect salt spray and algae year-round from Burrows Bay. Mrs. Christiansen slipped on the wet stone last winter before her daughter finally called. We installed the outdoor lift with 316 marine-grade stainless fasteners, an IP55-sealed motor housing, and a fitted cover that sheds water and prevents algae growth on the cream upholstery. The battery backup keeps the lift running through Pacific storm outages.

The Orchards ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs, same-week install

The Orchards, WA Installed November 2025

A newer ranch in The Orchards with a 36-inch-wide staircase, carpeted treads, and tile at the base. Mr. Dawson's son in Burlington called Monday, we measured Tuesday, the install crew was at the house Thursday. The brown seat at the upper landing matches the carpet tones. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. Luis explained every button twice and left a printed manual on the wall.

Platform Lift

San Juan Passage home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

San Juan Passage, WA Installed October 2025

A two-story home in San Juan Passage where Mr. Nguyen uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway: flat black anti-slip deck, yellow high-visibility safety edges on every threshold, white handrail, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot run it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered the $6,800 service-connected maximum, and the COPES Waiver covered the rest through his DSHS coordinator.

Common Questions

Everything Anacortes Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Anacortes, WA?

Straight rails in standard Anacortes homes — The Orchards ranches, the postwar homes near Commercial Avenue, the newer builds in San Juan Passage — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for landing turns in Marine Heights split-levels and Old Town Victorians run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for waterfront entries and raised porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Do outdoor stairlifts cost more because of the salt air?

No. Marine-grade 316 stainless fasteners and sealed motor housings are baseline on every Anacortes outdoor install — not an upcharge. Fidalgo Island sits in salt water on three sides, and standard zinc-plated hardware corrodes within 18 months in this environment. We spec 316 stainless fasteners, IP55-sealed motor housings, and UV-stabilized upholstery rated for 2,000+ hours of Pacific Northwest coastal exposure. These are standard on every Anacortes outdoor quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Skagit County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $15,000 to $35,000 minimum given the premium Anacortes housing market. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've owned for decades, with the island views and waterfront access you chose Anacortes for. For most families here, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing in Anacortes?

Yes. We offer fixed-rate financing from $79 per month with no prepayment penalties. Most Anacortes homeowners choose 36- or 60-month terms. You can also combine financing with VA HISA grant funds or Washington COPES Waiver coverage to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket cost. We walk you through every option during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Anacortes families usually call after a scare on the stairs — a slip on salt-air-dampened treads in an Old Town Victorian, a father who hasn't been upstairs since knee surgery at Island Hospital, a daughter on the mainland worried about her parents in a 1940s Cap Sante bungalow with waterfront views they refuse to give up.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
