Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Shenandoah County

Shenandoah County, VA

We cover Woodstock and all of Shenandoah County. The Court Street historic district holds limestone and brick homes from the 1795 courthouse era, many with original staircases under 34 inches that suit a slimline straight rail. The Church Street Victorians often have 90-degree landings that need a curved rail. Homes near W.O. Riley Park off Park Avenue tend toward later two-stories with oak treads that take a straight rail cleanly. Along Main Street (US-11) and out toward the North Fork and the Seven Bends, mid-century ranches and split-levels are common. We also serve Maurertown, Toms Brook, Edinburg, Mt. Jackson, Strasburg, and New Market.

Straight

Church Street Victorian — straight rail on original oak

Church Street Historic District, VA Installed March 2026

This 1896 Victorian kept its original dark oak treads — beautiful but steep, with a 17-inch riser that was hard on the homeowner's hips. We mounted a beige straight rail directly to the treads, bolting through the old-growth oak without splitting it. The seat parks at the bottom landing near the front-hall closet, with no wall damage.

Curved

Court Street — curved rail around a 90-degree landing

Court Street area, VA Installed April 2026

A 2003 colonial near Court Street had a formal staircase with a 90-degree turn at the mid-landing beneath a chandelier. We laser-measured it on a Tuesday, factory-bent the rail, and installed it the following week. The brown seat parks at the upper landing past the half-wall, and the retired homeowner reaches his second floor without stopping to rest.

W.O. Riley Park area — compact stone-tread cottage

W.O. Riley Park area, VA Installed February 2026

This 1940s cottage off Park Avenue had stone treads with a terra-cotta finish on a staircase barely 32 inches wide. We installed a brown straight rail with a folding seat that tucks to 14 inches when parked, anchoring the brackets into the stone with masonry-rated fasteners. The homeowner moves between the living room and upstairs bedroom on her own now.

Outdoor

North Main Street — outdoor porch install

North Main Street, VA Installed November 2025

A 1960s ranch on North Main Street had a stone-paved front porch with five risers from the driveway — the only entrance without a step-free path. We installed a cream outdoor lift with an IP55-sealed rail, weatherproof seat cover, and a track heating element. The work happened in November in the low 30s, and the lift was running before we left.

Main Street split-level — carpeted stairs

Main Street (US-11), VA Installed January 2026

This 1980s split-level off US-11 had wall-to-wall beige carpet on the main staircase — eight steps up to the bedroom hall and a hazard the homeowner had fallen on twice. We installed a brown straight rail whose seat tone blends with the carpet, bolting through the carpet and plywood sub-tread into the structural stringer. She ascends at night now without waking her husband.

Platform Lift

Maurertown — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Maurertown, VA Installed May 2026

This 1910 farmhouse in Maurertown had a 14-step straight staircase too narrow for a caregiver to assist, and the family's son uses a wheelchair full-time. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black deck, yellow safety edges, and a white handrail. The platform folds against the wall when unused, leaving 26 inches of passable stair width.

Common Questions

Everything Woodstock Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost in Woodstock, Virginia?

A straight rail starts at $2,800 installed, a curved rail at $9,000 depending on the turns, an outdoor lift for porches or decks at $4,000, and a heavy-duty model with 600 lb capacity at $5,050. Every quote includes in-home measurement, the rail, the seat, installation by Luis, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. No hidden fees or Shenandoah County travel surcharges.

Is a curved stairlift worth the higher cost for my historic Woodstock home?

If your staircase has a landing, turn, or directional change — which describes most of the Church Street Victorians and older Court Street homes — a curved rail is necessary. The rail follows the exact stair path after on-site laser measurement and custom factory-bending, giving you one continuous ride instead of two straight lifts with a mid-stair transfer. Most historic-home families in Woodstock choose a single curved rail.

What financing is available for a stairlift in Shenandoah County?

Financing starts from $79/month with approved credit. Many Woodstock households combine financing with grant programs — veterans often use the VA HISA grant for the bulk of the cost and finance the remainder. The Virginia Livable Home Tax Credit can return up to $6,500 of the cost at tax time. Luis reviews every option during the free in-home assessment.

Are there hidden costs after the quoted stairlift price in Woodstock?

No. The assessment price is the final price and covers the rail, seat, installation labor, cleanup, and a full operation demonstration. There is no charge for weekend installs, homes off US-11, or hauling away packaging. The only adjustment occurs if measurement reveals a supposedly straight staircase actually has a slight curve, and you are told before any work begins.

A word from Luis

Woodstock's housing is a real mix. The 1890s Victorians on Church Street have tight switchback stairs, while the split-levels off Main Street put a tripping-hazard half-flight between the living room and the bedrooms. I've measured stairs in more than 60 homes here in Shenandoah County, and the thing people don't expect is that a curved rail handles even the oddest landing — we laser-map the whole stairwell, factory-bend the rail, and it fits the first time with no changes to historic plaster walls.

About a third of my Woodstock installs are for veterans using the HISA grant. The Winchester VA Clinic on Dawson Drive handles the medical-necessity paperwork and Martinsburg processes the approval, and I walk families through both forms. The line I hear most after an install is, 'I should have called you two years ago.'

Luis Ramírez, Woodstock
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Woodstock's homes span 1890s Victorians on Church Street with tight switchback stairs to mid-century split-levels where the half-flight to the bedroom level becomes a tripping hazard. A stairlift keeps residents in the home they know, on streets where neighbors still look out for one another.

Luis offers a free in-home assessment, documents medical necessity for funding programs, and usually completes the install the same week. One call ends the worry about those stairs.
