Stairlift Service Across Fairfax County

Fairfax County, VA

West Falls Church is a Fairfax County CDP of postwar subdivisions clustered around the West Falls Church Metro. Jefferson Village (Cape Cods, 1948-1952) and Westlawn (1954-1958 split-levels) have narrow 32-inch staircases where straight rails bolt to oak treads. Hillwood brick ramblers and Raymondale ranchers often add exterior stone entries suited to outdoor lifts. Sleepy Hollow and Woodley colonials carry 90-degree landing turns that need custom-bent curved rails. Pimmit Hills and Idylwood split-levels near the Metro keep short 6-10 step flights ideal for a single straight lift. Most homes use hardwood or carpet-over-pine — rails fasten to treads, so no drywall repair is required.

Common Questions

Everything West Falls Church Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in West Falls Church?

Straight stairlifts begin at $2,800 installed. Curved rails start at $9,000, outdoor units at $4,000 with IP55 weather sealing, and heavy-duty lifts rated to 600 lb at $5,050. Every quote includes on-site measurement, rail, carriage, seat, installation labor, and a 5-year warranty. Financing runs $79/month.

Are stairlift prices higher in Fairfax County than nearby areas?

No. Pricing is flat across Northern Virginia. Installation time can vary in older West Falls Church homes with narrower staircases or non-standard tread depths, but the equipment price stays the same whether you're in Jefferson Village or Pimmit Hills.

Does insurance cover stairlift costs in West Falls Church?

Medicare does not cover stairlifts. Virginia Medicaid's CCC Plus Waiver covers environmental modifications for eligible members. The Virginia Livable Home Tax Credit offers up to $6,500 in state tax credits, and VA HISA grants provide up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans.

What financing is available for West Falls Church residents?

Financing starts at $79/month over 12-60 months with no prepayment penalty and approval usually under 10 minutes online. Credit cards, checks, and ACH transfers are accepted. Veterans can use a HISA grant to cover the full cost of a straight lift.

A word from Luis

I've installed over 400 lifts in this CDP, and the 1949 Cape Cod on a Jefferson Village side street has a different staircase geometry than the 1955 split-level over in Westlawn. The postwar housing here is tight and well-built — tread depths vary, and some stairs run just 32 inches wide, narrower than modern code. Our rails still fit.

What I hear most from families in Hillwood, Idylwood, and Sleepy Hollow is that they didn't think a lift would work in an older home. It almost always does. If your mom or dad lives in one of these 1940s or 1950s houses and the stairs have become a problem, call me. I'll measure and give you a firm quote — no pressure. I've been doing this 15 years and live ten minutes away. This is my community too.

Luis Ramírez, West Falls Church
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

West Falls Church holds one of the densest pockets of postwar housing in Fairfax County. Jefferson Village, Westlawn, Hillwood, Sleepy Hollow, Woodley, and Raymondale were platted between 1940 and 1955 with narrow staircases, hardwood treads, and steep pitches built for young Truman- and Eisenhower-era families. Seventy years on, original owners and their children are adapting these homes for new stages of life.

A stairlift is the fastest, least-disruptive way to keep an older West Falls Church home livable — no moving, no ramps, no first-floor bedroom conversion. Just a rail bolted to the treads and a seat that glides upward. Call (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment. Luis knows these blocks and has likely installed on your street.
