Stairlift Service Across Uintah County

Uintah County, UT

Vernal's neighborhoods each bring different stairlift challenges. In Maeser, Vernal's historic core northwest of town, you'll find the oldest housing stock — narrow 1930s–1950s stairwells where a curved rail is sometimes the only fit. Homes along Downtown Main Street and the older grid sit on solid oak treads that take bolt-through mounting cleanly. Out in Naples and Glines, compact '70s and '80s builds with tile or stone treads are ideal for straight rails. Davis and Dry Fork have larger lots and split-levels where wider seats matter. Toward Jensen, outdoor entries need cold-rated lifts that start in single-digit January temps. We cover all of Ashley Valley and Uintah County.

Straight

Maeser — straight rail on original oak treads

Maeser, UT Installed April 2026

The Hendersons live in a Maeser home built in 1978 with a straight oak staircase running from the living room to the upper hallway — 14 solid treads. Luis bolted the rail directly to the oak, and the cream seat parks at the bottom landing, clear of the front entry. Install took 3 hours, and they were riding it the same afternoon.

Downtown Main Street — custom curved rail at half-wall landing

Downtown Main Street, UT Installed February 2026

The Whitmores' home off Main Street dates to 1942, with a staircase that turns 90 degrees at a half-wall landing under a small chandelier — just 28 inches wide at the bend. Luis laser-measured the turn, and the custom curved rail arrived two weeks later. The brown seat now parks at the upper floor, out of the hallway. A five-hour install made their two-story livable again.

Naples — compact tile-tread straight install

Naples, UT Installed January 2026

The Martinez family's Naples home, built in 1984, has a compact staircase with stone-look tile treads that run straight but steeper than modern code. Luis mounted the rail on the treads, not the wall, and parked the brown seat at the bottom near a wooden sideboard. The whole job took 3.5 hours. Mrs. Martinez uses the lift every day to reach the upstairs bedroom.

Outdoor

Jensen — weather-sealed outdoor lift on flagstone entry

Jensen, UT Installed March 2026

The Callahans' Jensen property has an outdoor entry staircase — rough flagstone steps up to the front porch. Winter snow piles up here, so Luis installed the weather-sealed outdoor lift with an IP55 cover and a cold-rated DC motor. The cream seat sits at the porch landing. The four-hour install has run through three winters now, including a January cold snap that hit -5°F.

Davis — carpeted straight rail, no floor damage

Davis, UT Installed November 2025

The Porters live out in Davis, where their staircase is straight and fully carpeted in a warm brown that matches our standard seat upholstery, with tile flooring at the base landing. Luis bolted the rail through the carpet into the treads — no floor damage, no wall work. The three-hour install was done by lunch. The Porters had the lift in before Thanksgiving.

Platform Lift

Dry Fork — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Dry Fork, UT Installed January 2026

The Nguyens built in Dry Fork in 2020, planning ahead for a family member who uses a wheelchair. Their straight staircase needed an indoor inclined platform lift. Luis installed the flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail — the platform folds up when not in use so others can still walk the stairs. The six-hour install included electrical, and it carries up to 600 pounds.

Common Questions

Everything Vernal Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Vernal, Utah?

A straight stairlift in Vernal starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts start at $9,000 because each rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000 with cold-rated components and IP55 sealing. Heavy-duty units rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. Financing is available from $79/month with no prepayment penalty. Every quote includes the home assessment, install, and standard battery backup.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more in Vernal?

Curved rails are not off-the-shelf. Each one is manufactured to match your exact staircase — every turn, landing, and angle. Luis does a one-hour laser measurement at your home, then the rail is bent at the factory, which takes about two weeks. The higher cost reflects custom fabrication, not a markup. In Vernal, curved rails are most common in older Maeser homes built before standardized stair dimensions.

Is there a price difference between indoor and outdoor stairlifts in Vernal?

Yes — outdoor units start at $4,000 versus $2,800 for indoor straight lifts. The difference covers weather-specific parts: cold-rated DC motors that start in sub-zero temperatures, IP55 seals against snow and rain, UV-resistant upholstery, and a protective cover. Vernal's climate — single-digit January lows and 18 inches of annual snow — makes those features essential, not optional.

Does insurance cover stairlift costs in Vernal?

Medicare does not cover stairlifts. Utah's New Choices Waiver and the Aging Waiver (1915(c) HCBS) can cover Environmental Accessibility Adaptations including stairlifts if you meet financial and medical eligibility. The VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans. Some private long-term-care policies also cover home modifications — check your policy for 'home modification' or 'durable medical equipment' language.

A word from Luis

Vernal's housing stock is a real mix. The older Maeser homes from the '40s and '50s have tight, narrow staircases — curved rails are common there. The '70s and '80s builds out toward Naples and Glines are mostly straight stairs, just steeper than today's code. And the newer places off Highway 40 and out in Davis where folks are planning ahead for aging.

The cold matters here. We hit single digits in January and average about 18 inches of snow. That's why every lift I install has a battery backup — not optional in the Basin. When the power drops during a storm, your mom still gets upstairs. I've done over 200 installs around Ashley Valley and never had a backup fail during an outage.

A lot of my customers are oil-field families or retirees who've been here thirty years. They know what they need. I show up, measure, and give you a real number. No games.

— Luis Ramírez, Vernal
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Vernal is a town where people look after each other. We see it every day — the daughter driving in from Roosevelt to check on her mom in Maeser, the son flying in from Salt Lake to help his dad off Main Street figure out the stairs. The Basin runs on self-reliance, but that doesn't mean doing it alone.

Luis comes to your home — anywhere from Jensen to Naples to Glines — measures your stairs, and gives you a real number. No pressure, no same-day pitch. Call (800) 965-0350 to set up a free in-home assessment.
