Stairlift Service Across Delaware County

Delaware County, PA

Upper Chichester Township runs from the Delaware state line up past U.S. 322, with Boothwyn as the main village along Chichester Avenue. Twin Oaks began as a 1920 factory-worker subdivision off Market Street — many of those original row homes still have narrow, steep staircases that take a custom-fitted straight rail. Linwood Heights sits near the Marcus Hook border with compact post-war homes where we often install on carpeted treads. Larkin Knoll (1970s–1990s split-levels and colonials off Bethel Road) and Cherry Tree Knoll (1990s townhomes and detached singles) are where curved-rail jobs cluster — the split-level geometry with quarter-turn landings needs a laser-measured rail. Gardendale, with homes built from the 1920s through the early 2000s, mixes stone-tread cottages and newer two-story frames.

Straight

Dark Hardwood Straight Rail, Boothwyn Colonial

Boothwyn, PA Installed March 2026

Classic 1960s two-story colonial on a tree-lined street off Chichester Avenue. Dark oak treads with original hardwood — no two risers matched after sixty years of settling. A beige straight rail bolted into the treads, bottom landing mount. The homeowner had been sleeping on the first-floor sofa for eight months before the install. She uses the upstairs bathroom again now.

Curved

Curved Rail, Upper-Landing 90° Turn, Larkin Knoll

Larkin Knoll, PA Installed February 2026

1973 split-level with a quarter-turn landing at the top — the rail had to bend 90° around the half-wall at the upper floor. Brown upholstered seat parked at the top landing, out of the downstairs sightline. Laser measurement took an hour because the landing wasn't square — off by nearly two degrees. The fabricated rail arrived ten days later and the install crew had it aligned by early afternoon.

Straight

Stone-Tread Straight Rail, Gardendale Cottage

Gardendale, PA Installed January 2026

1950s cottage with worn stone treads — compact interior, narrow hallway at the base. Brown seat mounted at the bottom, next to a wooden sideboard cabinet. The installer used longer bolts to anchor into the stone securely without cracking. The tight clearance at the base meant the footrest had to be set a half-inch closer to the rail than standard. Homeowner's wife can now carry laundry upstairs.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Rail, Twin Oaks Row Home

Twin Oaks, PA Installed November 2025

1920s brick row home with a five-step exterior entry off Market Street. Rough stone paving at the base, no cover over the stairs. Cream outdoor-rated rail with marine-grade upholstery and IP55 weather sealing. Installed in November — the crew worked between rain bands. The homeowner used to avoid leaving the house from December through March. This winter she got to her daughter's for Christmas.

Straight

Carpeted-Stair Straight Rail, Cherry Tree Knoll

Cherry Tree Knoll, PA Installed April 2026

1998 detached single-family with beige wall-to-wall carpet on the staircase. Brown upholstered seat matched the carpet tone almost exactly. Tiled floor at the base landing. The rail bolted through the carpet into the wood treads beneath — no carpet damage beyond the bolt holes, which closed back after the install. Standard three-hour job with no surprises. Homeowner's first words after the test ride: 'I should have called last year.'

Indoor Wheelchair Platform, Linwood Heights

Linwood Heights, PA Installed September 2025

Post-war single-family home, straight staircase. The homeowner uses a wheelchair full-time and needed access to the upstairs bedroom and bath. Flat black deck platform with yellow safety edges, white handrail, indoor use. Platform folds up at the bottom when not in use, leaving the staircase passable. 600 lb capacity. The deck rides on a reinforced rail. Installed over one long day with the family at home.

Common Questions

Everything Upper Chichester Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Upper Chichester Township?

A straight stairlift in Upper Chichester starts at $2,800 installed. Curved models, which are custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement, start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for porch or entry stairs start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. The final price depends on rail length, number of turns, and any landing complications — common in the split-level homes in Larkin Knoll and Cherry Tree Knoll. We give a firm quote at the in-home assessment, never a range.

How much does a curved stairlift cost for a split-level home in Upper Chichester?

Curved stairlifts start at $9,000. The split-level homes built in the 1970s through 1990s in neighborhoods like Larkin Knoll and Cherry Tree Knoll typically have one quarter-turn landing — those usually run $9,000–$12,000 depending on rail length. The rail is bent at the factory from a laser scan of your exact stairs, which takes about an hour on site. No guesswork, and no gaps between the rail and your wall.

Can I rent a stairlift in Upper Chichester instead of buying?

We don't offer rentals — the economics don't work for a product that's custom-fitted to one staircase. But we do offer financing from $79/month, which keeps the monthly outlay predictable. Many families in Upper Chichester use financing for a parent's straight-rail install and pay it off over 24–36 months. There's no prepayment penalty.

Does the $2,800 straight stairlift price include installation?

Yes. The $2,800 starting price covers the rail, the seat, the battery-backed DC motor, installation labor, and the in-home assessment. We don't add a separate install fee or a travel charge for Upper Chichester addresses. The assessment visit — where we measure your stairs and confirm the rail length — is free.

A word from Luis

Upper Chichester is where I've been installing stairlifts the longest — since 2009. You see the whole history of Delaware County housing here. I've put straight rails into 1700s farmhouses off Naamans Creek Road where the treads are worn stone and the rise is irregular. I've bent curved rails through 1970s split-levels in Larkin Knoll with landings that weren't square to begin with. And I've done platform lifts in 1990s colonials in Cherry Tree Knoll where the hallway at the top is tight. Every job teaches you something about how this township was built.

The thing people don't realize until we show up is that an install doesn't tear up your house. Three hours for a straight rail. We bolt into the treads — not the wall — so your drywall stays intact. The U.S. 322 construction has made getting around tricky lately, but we know every back road through Boothwyn and Twin Oaks. Call the office. We'll come out, measure, and tell you exactly what works for your stairs.

— Luis Ramírez, Upper Chichester
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Upper Chichester has been continuously inhabited since 1681 — longer than most townships in Pennsylvania. The housing stock tells the story: a c.1700 stone house on Chichester Avenue from a William Penn land grant, 1920s Twin Oaks row homes built for factory workers, 1970s Larkin Knoll split-levels, and 2005 Creekside Village 55-plus condos. That range of architecture means every stairlift install here has to be measured and fitted to the actual staircase — not pulled from a template.

We keep a warehouse within driving distance of Boothwyn, so parts and service calls don't get delayed. Whether you're off Meetinghouse Road near the historic Friends meetinghouse or in a newer subdivision off Bethel Road, we can usually get someone out to measure within two business days. The U.S. 322 widening has added some detours, but we know the back routes through the township. If your stairs are getting harder, call and ask for Luis.
