Stairlift Service Across Las Animas County

Las Animas County, CO

In the Corazon de Trinidad Historic District, 1880s-1910s Victorians along East Main Street and North Commercial Street have narrow stairs under 32 inches with original oak treads, so curved rails are common around mid-run landings. Cottages near Simpson's Rest mix steep runs with stone treads that need masonry anchors. Ranch homes out toward Hoehne, Jansen, and Sopris have wider stairs but raised entry steps where freeze-thaw heaves the concrete. The Cougar Canyon golf community and homes near Starkville often run split-level, where a short straight rail solves a half-flight. We install across Las Animas County with no travel fees.

Corazon de Trinidad — straight rail on original 1898 oak treads

Corazon de Trinidad Historic District, CO Installed March 2026

The Crawfords' 1898 Queen Anne on East Main has a dark, narrow oak staircase just 32 inches wide. Maya, 78, had been sleeping downstairs after a fall. Luis bolted a beige straight rail to the treads — it parks at the bottom landing, with no marks on the woodwork and no wall damage.

North Commercial Street, CO Installed February 2026

Near Simpson's Rest — compact cottage with stone treads

Simpson's Rest, CO Installed January 2026

The Hansens' cottage below Simpson's Rest has stone-tread stairs — a 1930s detail that's beautiful but slippery. The brown seat sits at the bottom near a wooden sideboard. Luis mounted the rail directly to the stone treads with masonry-rated fasteners, working around the furniture.

Jansen — outdoor lift on freeze-heaved stone steps

Jansen, CO Installed April 2026

This ranch home out toward Jansen had five rough-stone entry steps, two of them uneven from years of freeze-thaw shifting. Luis installed a cream outdoor unit along the right edge, weather-sealed for the high-plains winters. Juanita, 82, now uses it daily to reach her garden.

Cougar Canyon, CO Installed May 2026

Hoehne — indoor wheelchair platform between floors

Hoehne, CO Installed December 2025

The Reyes family's ranch out by Hoehne needed full wheelchair access. Roberto uses a power chair full-time, so Luis fitted an indoor inclined platform lift — a flat black deck with bright yellow safety edges and a white handrail — that now carries him between floors safely.

Common Questions

Everything Trinidad Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost in Trinidad, Colorado?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved models start at $9,000, outdoor units at $4,000, and heavy-duty lifts at $5,050. Every quote includes the free in-home assessment, the rail, the seat, full installation, and a 5-year warranty. There are no travel fees anywhere in Las Animas County, including out toward Hoehne, Jansen, and Aguilar.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more in Trinidad?

Curved stairlifts are custom-bent to your exact staircase after a one-hour laser measurement on site. Many homes in the Corazon de Trinidad Historic District predate 1920 with mid-run landings and 90-degree turns, and each bend requires its own fabricated rail. That custom work is why curved lifts start at $9,000 while straight lifts start at $2,800.

Are there hidden fees for stairlift installation in Trinidad?

No. The price quoted at your assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, carriage, installation, cleanup, and a 5-year warranty, with no travel fees for Trinidad or the rest of Las Animas County. Optional add-ons like a power swivel or an extended rail are disclosed up front at the assessment, never added afterward.

Can I finance a stairlift in Trinidad?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 per month through our third-party lending partner, with a soft credit check and no prepayment penalty. We also accept credit cards and checks, and we help with VA HISA grant paperwork (up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans) and Colorado's Health First EBD Waiver, which covers home modifications up to a $14,000 lifetime maximum.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts into Trinidad homes for over a decade — the brick and adobe Victorians along East Main, the bungalows near North Commercial Street, and the ranch places out by Hoehne and Jansen. The oldest homes in the Corazon de Trinidad district are the ones that surprise people: those staircases were built in the 1890s, steep and narrow with original oak treads.

A straight rail bolts right to the treads and we're done in about three hours, with no damage to the woodwork. At 6,000 feet our winters bring hard freeze-thaw, so for porch steps I always spec a weather-sealed outdoor unit.

Luis Ramírez, Trinidad
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Trinidad's historic core was built for a coal-boom era, not for aging knees — steep oak staircases, half-flights, and freeze-heaved porch steps are the norm. A stairlift keeps you in the home you know without remodeling.

Call (800) 965-0350 to book a free in-home assessment. Luis will measure your exact stairs, quote a fixed price, and most straight lifts are installed within the week.
