Stairlift Service Across Pueblo County

Pueblo County, CO

From the 1890s Victorians on the Northside, where steep original staircases with narrow treads require careful rail placement to avoid damaging century-old millwork, to the Bessemer bungalows south of the Arkansas River where CF&I-era housing has settled unevenly over 120 years, our team has mapped every Pueblo neighborhood. We know which Mesa Junction Craftsman bungalows need a curved rail at the mid-landing turn, which Belmont homes have wide post-war staircases that install in three hours, and which Aberdeen ranch-era homes have raised entries needing outdoor-rated lifts. In Pueblo West, standard builder staircases with carpet treads and 13-foot runs are our most common install. We also cover Cañon City through Colorado Springs.

Straight

1903 Northside Victorian — straight rail on original oak treads

Northside, CO Installed March 2026

A 1903 Victorian on the Northside with original quarter-sawn oak treads, turned spindles, and a formal newel post. Mrs. Kowalski is 84 and stopped going upstairs entirely after a near-fall. The staircase is a clean straight run — 14 feet with no landing, dark hardwood open treads. We bolted the rail to the right side of the oak treads without touching a single spindle, seated the beige chair at the bottom landing, and parked it flush against the upper wall. She's been sleeping in her own bedroom every night since.

1928 Mesa Junction Craftsman — curved rail past the upper landing turn

Mesa Junction, CO Installed February 2026

A 1928 Craftsman bungalow in Mesa Junction with a staircase that doglegs at the upper landing. The curved rail bends around the half-wall at the top floor, and the brown-upholstered seat parks at the upper hallway where Mr. Gallegos steps off directly onto the landing. His VA provider at the PFC James Dunn VA Clinic wrote the HISA prescription, we prefilled VA Form 10-0103, and the grant covered the bulk of the cost. The rail threads past the original Craftsman millwork at the upper landing without grazing the built-in bookcase he built with his own hands in 1971.

1910 Bessemer cottage — shimmed rail in a compact traditional home

Bessemer, CO Installed January 2026

A 1910 worker's cottage in Bessemer with settled adobe-clay foundation and stone-look tile treads. The compact stairway sits next to a wooden sideboard with a potted plant — a cozy traditional interior. Two other companies said the stairs needed rebuilding first. We shimmed the rail brackets at three mounting points to compensate for the settlement, fitted the brown-upholstered seat at the bottom, and the chair rides perfectly level. Mrs. Valdez is 79, born and raised in Bessemer, and said the install team was the most careful crew she'd had in the house in 50 years.

Belmont raised porch — outdoor lift on stone-paved entry steps

Belmont, CO Installed December 2025

A 1952 ranch in Belmont with a raised front porch and six exterior stone-paved steps. Mr. Martinez uses a cane after a stroke and the front steps had become the single barrier between him and the outside world. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the outdoor entry, anchored through the rough natural stone paving into the concrete footing beneath. Natural daylight floods the covered porch from above, and the carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom gives solid footing. We sealed the motor housing to IP55 and applied cold-weather lubricant rated to -10°F. The lift has run through a full Colorado winter without a service call.

Pueblo West split-level — carpeted run, same-week install

Pueblo West, CO Installed November 2025

A 1998 split-level in Pueblo West with builder-grade carpet on the stairs and a standard 13-foot straight run from the entry level to the upper bedrooms. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones on the treads. Mr. Henderson is a retired Army sergeant who had a hip replacement at the VA. The mounting bolts go through the carpet into the tread below — invisible and removable. Wall-mounted light switches stay accessible with the chair folded. At the landing, the tiled floor gives a clean transition. The HISA grant through the PFC James Dunn VA Clinic covered $6,800 of the cost.

Platform Lift

Aberdeen ranch — indoor wheelchair platform lift at the sunken den

Aberdeen, CO Installed October 2025

A 1965 ranch in Aberdeen with a sunken den — three steps down from the kitchen. Mr. Trujillo uses a powered wheelchair after a spinal injury and those steps cut the house in half. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface and yellow high-visibility safety edges around the perimeter. The white handrail runs along the indoor stairway wall, and the orange-toned walls of the den frame the window behind the platform. Not a seated stairlift — a flat platform that carries the full wheelchair. The EBD Waiver through Health First Colorado covered the full cost within the $14,000 lifetime cap.

Common Questions

Everything Pueblo Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Pueblo right now?

Straight rails in the standard Pueblo home — the Pueblo West ranches, the Belmont post-war two-stories, the Mesa Junction bungalows — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Northside Victorians with mid-landing turns and Bessemer two-stories with tight switchbacks run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised porches and exterior entry steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is Pueblo less expensive than Denver or Colorado Springs for stairlifts?

Equipment prices are the same across Colorado — we don't inflate quotes based on zip code, and we don't charge less for Pueblo addresses either. The equipment costs what it costs. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: compensating rail mounts for foundation-settled treads in 1900s Bessemer cottages, or historical-district paperwork for Northside contributing structures. Every line item is on the written quote before you sign anything.

My Bessemer bungalow has uneven stairs from foundation settlement. Does that change the price?

It changes the install approach, not necessarily the price. Many Bessemer and Mesa Junction homes built between 1890 and 1940 have treads that are off-level by a quarter-inch to a half-inch after a century of adobe-clay settlement. We shim the rail brackets to compensate so the chair rides perfectly level. If the settlement is severe enough to require a curved rail on what looks like a straight staircase, that's a different cost category — but we tell you during the free assessment, not after install day.

Do you work with multi-generational households in Pueblo?

This is one of our most common calls in Pueblo — especially in Bessemer and the Northside where families have lived in the same home for decades. A parent's mobility changes, the bedrooms are upstairs, and the family needs a stairlift installed quickly. We can measure and install a straight rail within a week of your first call. If the parent is already sleeping downstairs because they can't reach the bedroom, we prioritize same-week install.

A word from Luis

Most Pueblo families call me after a fall or a near-miss — a slip on the original wood treads in a Northside Victorian, a parent who hasn't been upstairs since a knee replacement, a daughter in Denver worried about her father alone in a Bessemer bungalow he's lived in since 1974.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
