Stairlift Service Across Mercer County

Mercer County, NJ

From the 1960s ranches and split-levels of Hamilton Square, where the mid-landing 90-degree turn is the single most common staircase we measure, to the 1950s Cape Cods of Mercerville with their steep, narrow second-floor stairs tucked against the kitchen wall, our team has mapped every neighborhood in the township. We know which Yardville colonials have the formal front-hall staircase with original oak banisters that require tread-only mounting, which White Horse developments from the 1970s have the wide-tread construction that installs in under three hours, and which Groveville homes near Route 130 have the raised front porches that need an outdoor-rated rail.

1958 Yardville colonial — straight rail on original oak treads

Yardville, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1958 colonial in Yardville with a formal front-hall staircase, original red oak treads, and an oak banister with turned spindles that Mrs. Kowalski's husband built by hand when they moved in 48 years ago. Her first words on the phone were 'do not touch his banister.' We measured the 15-foot straight run, confirmed the existing hallway outlet would reach, and bolted the rail into the tread surface only, well clear of every spindle and the newel post. The seat parks flush against the wall at the bottom landing.

90-degree landing turn in a 1964 Hamilton Square split-level

Hamilton Square, NJ Installed February 2026

A 1964 split-level in Hamilton Square with the classic mid-landing layout: six steps from the foyer to the main living level, a 90-degree turn at the landing, then eight more steps up to the bedrooms. Two companies told the Brennans they would need two separate lifts with a transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mrs. Brennan from the foyer to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top.

1952 Mercerville Cape Cod — straight rail up the steep second-floor staircase

Mercerville, NJ Installed January 2026

A 1952 Cape Cod in Mercerville with the steep, narrow staircase between the kitchen wall and the living room that is standard in Cape Cod construction. The treads are original hardwood with a stone-tile threshold at the base where the kitchen floor meets the first step. Mr. DiNardo, 81 years old and recovering from knee replacement surgery at Capital Health in Trenton, needed the lift working before he came home from rehab.

Raised front porch in Groveville — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

Groveville, NJ Installed December 2025

A 1955 ranch near Route 130 in Groveville with a raised front porch, seven exterior steps, and flagstone paving at the base. Mr. Horvath is a Korean War-era veteran enrolled at the Hamilton VA Clinic on Quakerbridge Road. His VA provider wrote the HISA prescription, we prefilled VA Form 10-0103, and the grant was approved in five weeks. The rail is bolted through the flagstone into the concrete substrate, sealed with marine-grade epoxy against the freeze-thaw cycling.

Carpeted staircase in a White Horse colonial — rail over plush Berber

White Horse, NJ Installed November 2025

A 1970s colonial in White Horse with a fully carpeted staircase and a plush Berber runner that Mrs. Callahan had installed in 2020. She was clear on the phone: do not cut the carpet. The rail mounts bolt through the carpet into the tread subfloor beneath using spacer washers that compress the pile without cutting or tearing. We hand-drove each bolt to avoid melting the Berber fibers.

Platform Lift

Indoor inclined platform lift in a Mercerville two-story — yellow safety edges, wheelchair-accessible

Mercerville, NJ Installed October 2025

A two-story home in Mercerville where Mr. Okafor, a full-time wheelchair user after a stroke, needed floor-to-floor access without transferring out of his chair. The seated stairlift models were not an option. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift that rides the staircase rail — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges on the perimeter, white handrails on both sides, and automatic folding ramps at the boarding point. Mr. Okafor rolls on at the bottom, presses one button, and exits at the upper floor.

Common Questions

Everything Hamilton Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in a typical Hamilton Township home?

Straight rails for the standard colonials, Cape Cods, and ranches across Hamilton run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. That covers the 12-to-16-foot straight runs you find in most Mercerville and Yardville homes. Curved rails for split-level staircases with mid-landing turns, common in Hamilton Square's 1960s neighborhoods, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches run $4,000 to $7,500.

Are prices different in Hamilton than in Princeton or Lawrenceville?

Equipment cost is identical across Mercer County. We do not adjust quotes based on neighborhood or ZIP code. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: mid-landing turns in Hamilton Square split-levels, homes with no ground-floor outlet near the stair base, or older Yardville colonials with uneven treads from 60 years of settling.

Do you charge extra for split-level staircase installs?

Split-level staircases require a curved rail, which costs more than a straight rail because it is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. That is the only difference. There is no surcharge for the split-level layout itself, no surcharge for the mid-landing turn, and no surcharge for the swivel-exit seat at the top.

Do you offer financing if I do not qualify for MLTSS, HISA, or JACC?

Yes. Three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull, takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Hamilton families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction to bring the monthly cost down.

A word from Luis

Hamilton families call me when the stairs become the barrier between the bedroom and the rest of the house. A daughter in Princeton calls because her mother in a 1962 Mercerville Cape Cod has not been upstairs in two months. A son in Philadelphia calls because his father in a Hamilton Square colonial slipped on the carpeted landing last week and will not admit the stairs are the problem.

I drive to your house, measure your staircase, and hand you a written price that holds for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells, no fine print.
