Straight Stairlift

The everyday solution for Tinley Park's bi-level upper flights and colonial stairways.

The majority of stairlift installs we complete in Tinley Park are straight rails on single-flight colonial or bi-level upper stairs. The rail bolts into your stair treads — never the wall — and the seat and footrest fold flat between uses. Every Cook County installation includes a cold-weather battery pack standard, so polar-vortex power outages don't strand anyone on a landing.

Starting at $3,200 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls
  • Soft start and soft stop motion
  • Fold-up seat, arms, and footrest
  • 10-year motor & gearbox warranty

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Cook County

Cook County, IL

Tinley Park's residential footprint stretches from the older streets near 175th and Oak Park Avenue — where the 1960s ranches and early bi-levels sit — to the newer subdivisions east toward Harlem Avenue and south toward the Will County line. The rail geometry challenge in the original Tinley Park neighborhoods is the tight mid-flight landing on split-entry homes; in the newer east-side subdivisions it's more often a wide colonial staircase where a straight rail drops in cleanly. Our installers have worked both corridors and know the difference before they arrive.

We also cover the surrounding communities that share Tinley Park's zip-code overlap — Orland Hills, Frankfort Square, Oak Forest, and Orland Park — without a separate call or a different installer. The south Cook County suburbs are a single service zone for us, staffed by a team that knows the housing stock by subdivision, not just by city name.

1978 bi-level upper flight — rail matched to original oak treads

West Tinley Park, IL Installed March 2026

A 1978 bi-level on the west side of Tinley Park — the classic split-entry layout with an upper flight of 12 oak-tread steps to the living level. The family wanted the rail to disappear against the wood. We brought finish samples on the first visit, matched the champagne rail to the original oak stain, and bolted the track into the treads without touching the original banister. The chair parks flush at the upper landing and the Kowalski grandchildren still race up and down alongside it.

Low-profile curved rail for a contemporary east-side colonial

East Tinley Park, IL Installed February 2026

A newer colonial on the east side near Harlem Avenue — open staircase, light hardwood, and a homeowner who was very direct: the lift could not look clinical. We specified the slim-profile ivory rail, a matching seat upholstery, and mounted it so the chair folds completely against the wall between uses. Mrs. Jankowski's daughter, who made the purchase call from Wisconsin, joined the assessment over video and approved every detail remotely before we ordered a single part.

Custom curved rail for a tri-level with continuous mid-landing turn

Central Tinley Park, IL Installed January 2026

A 1982 tri-level where the continuous staircase changes direction at the mid-landing — exactly the configuration that requires a curved, custom-fabricated rail. We laser-scanned on the first visit, confirmed the geometry, and fabricated a rail that follows the full run from the garage-level entry to the upper living floor. On install day the curved section threaded past the original newel post and landed square at the top without touching the trim. Mr. Nowak admitted he'd been dreading the cost conversation — the curved rail came in at the low end of his estimate.

Carpeted colonial stairs — swivel seat for safe top-landing exit

South Tinley Park, IL Installed December 2025

A south-side Tinley Park colonial with 14 carpeted treads and a narrow turn at the top newel post. Mrs. Sullivan's main concern was the dismount — she'd nearly fallen stepping off at the top twice before calling us. We installed the swivel-exit seat: it parks at the top, the seat rotates 90° so she stands facing the hallway floor instead of the step. Her daughter, who'd been driving in from Frankfort every week to help, said that single feature was the whole reason she could stop worrying.

1960s ranch lower-level stairs — narrow stair, slim-profile rail

North Tinley Park, IL Installed November 2025

A 1960s raised ranch on the north end of Tinley Park where the basement stairs are original 36-inch-wide construction — tight by any standard. The family wanted access to the lower level where their mother's bedroom had been moved to avoid stairs entirely. We fitted the slimmest rail in our catalog, added a folding footrest and armrest so the lift tucks flush when parked, and had the unit running in under three hours. Mr. Paczkowski said it was the quietest machine he'd ever heard in his house.

Platform Lift

Outdoor inclined platform for a raised front entry in Orland Hills

Orland Hills, IL Installed October 2025

A raised-entry ranch in neighboring Orland Hills where the front porch sits 42 inches above grade — no ramp option existed without sacrificing the entire front walk. The Grabowski family's father uses a rollator walker and needed weather-safe exterior access. We installed an inclined platform lift with a fold-up deck, stainless hardware sealed against Illinois salt-spray winters, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. It's been through one full Cook County winter without a service call.

Common Questions

Everything Tinley Park Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Tinley Park right now?

Straight rails in Tinley Park's standard bi-level and colonial homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. If your home has a split-entry with two separate flights, each flight is quoted separately — most families install one flight first and add the second within a year. Curved or custom rails for homes with a mid-landing turn run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your staircase geometry. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and covers installation, rail, seat, battery, and the first service call.

Does my bi-level or tri-level need a curved rail?

Not always. A true split-entry bi-level has two straight flights separated by a landing — each flight takes a standard straight rail, quoted independently. A tri-level with a continuous stair that changes angle at the landing is a different calculation; that one usually requires a curved rail. Luis will identify which geometry you have on the first visit, before any commitment. About a third of Tinley Park bi-levels end up being two separate straight rails, not one curved unit — and that's usually the more affordable path.

Are prices higher in the Chicago suburbs than downstate?

Equipment pricing is the same statewide. What can vary slightly is labor time — older Tinley Park homes occasionally have header clearance issues at the top of the stairs that require a minor framing adjustment, and we tell you about those before starting. No surprise line items after the quote is signed.

Do you offer financing if I'm not ready to pay in full?

Yes — three lending partners, with 0% APR plans for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. The credit application takes about 4 minutes, is a soft pull (no score impact), and approvals are usually same-day. Many Tinley Park families combine financing with the Illinois HSP benefit or a VA HISA grant to reduce the out-of-pocket number significantly.

A word from Luis
Tinley Park is predominantly owner-occupied, 1970s and 1980s construction — you see a lot of bi-levels and tri-levels where the front door opens onto a small landing and the stairs split both ways. That layout creates a mid-flight decision point that surprises homeowners who assumed a straight rail would just drop in. On about a third of my Tinley Park visits I'm explaining curved rail options — and the good news is the homes here have wide-enough treads that we can almost always keep it clean and unobtrusive.
— Luis Ramírez, Tinley Park
