Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Caledonia County

Caledonia County, VT

We install across St. Johnsbury and Caledonia County. The Main Street Historic District and Railroad Street Victorians and foursquares have steep, narrow staircases that often need a custom-bent curved rail. Up on The Hill and along Summerville and Boynton Avenue, the older colonials usually take a straight rail bolted to the treads. The split-levels and ranches in St. Johnsbury Center, Mount Pleasant, and East St. Johnsbury are a good fit for both seat and platform lifts. We seal every outdoor unit for sub-zero cold, freeze-thaw, and mud season, and also serve nearby Lyndon and Danville.

Common Questions

Everything St. Johnsbury Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in St. Johnsbury?

A straight stairlift in St. Johnsbury starts at $2,800 installed. That covers the rail, the seat, the DC motor with battery backup, and all labor. A typical St. Johnsbury Center home takes a 12–14 foot rail and about three hours to install. The price we quote at your free assessment is the price you pay.

How much is a curved stairlift for St. Johnsbury's older homes?

Curved stairlifts in St. Johnsbury start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase. For the Main Street and Railroad Street Victorians, we laser-measure every tread. Measurement and fabrication take about three weeks; the install itself is a single day.

Does an outdoor stairlift cost more in Vermont's climate?

Outdoor stairlifts for St. Johnsbury homes start at $4,000. The higher price covers a weather-sealed motor housing, a powder-coated rail, and IP55-rated components that hold up to Northeast Kingdom winters, sub-zero cold, and freeze-thaw. We seal every exterior connection so the unit runs all winter.

Are there hidden fees or trip charges for St. Johnsbury?

No. Our St. Johnsbury assessments are free and there is no trip charge in our core Caledonia County service area, including The Hill, St. Johnsbury Center, and East St. Johnsbury. The quote we give you at the assessment is firm and includes the rail, seat, motor, battery backup, and labor.

A word from Luis

St. Johnsbury homes are some of the oldest I work in. The Main Street and Railroad Street Victorians have steep, narrow staircases with tight landings, so I usually bolt the rail right to the treads — the original plaster and woodwork never get touched.

Up on The Hill and out in St. Johnsbury Center, the colonials and split-levels give me more room, but our Northeast Kingdom winters are brutal on porch steps. For those I spec an IP55-sealed outdoor unit that handles sub-zero cold, freeze-thaw, and the spring mud season. I will always tell you straight what your stairs actually need.
