Stairlift Service Across Lake County

Lake County, IN

We cover every St. John subdivision in Lake County. Bramblewood, off 93rd Avenue, is a 156-lot subdivision of newer single-family homes with wide oak treads — clean runs for a straight rail. Gates of St. John spans 700 acres of two-story and split-level plans, where 90° turns at the upper landing call for a custom-curved rail. Lake Hills ranch townhomes near the lake suit straight installs and outdoor porch lifts. Walden Clearing and The Preserve are recent luxury builds with carpeted stair runs, and older sections near Wicker Avenue mix quad-level and two-story layouts from the 1990s with tighter turns. Freeze-thaw winters make a reliable indoor lift essential for most families here.

Bramblewood — straight rail on dark oak treads

Bramblewood, IN Installed March 2026

The Kowalskis' two-story in Bramblewood has dark oak treads running up to the bedrooms. We bolted a straight rail to the treads — no wall brackets — and the cream upholstery matched the warm wood foyer tones. Mrs. Kowalski now reaches the upstairs bathroom on her own.

Weston Ridge — compact straight install on stone treads

Weston Ridge, IN Installed January 2026

The Nelsons' Weston Ridge home has a compact staircase tucked beside the living area. We fit a brown-upholstered lift over the stone-tread stairs, with the seat parking beside a wooden sideboard. A wall-hugging rail managed the tight clearance — three hours start to test. The retired teacher uses it twice daily.

Common Questions

Everything St. John Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in St. John, Indiana?

Straight-rail units start at $2,800 installed; curved at $9,000; outdoor at $4,000; heavy-duty at $5,050. Every price includes measurement, fabrication, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage.

Does living in St. John or Lake County affect stairlift pricing?

No. Pricing is flat across Northwest Indiana. What changes the number is your staircase geometry — straight versus curved, the number of turns, and total rail length. We confirm the exact figure at the free in-home assessment.

How much is an outdoor stairlift for St. John's weather?

Outdoor stairlifts start at $4,000. We spec IP55 weather-sealed units for every exterior install because St. John averages about 28 inches of snow a year with January lows near 15°F and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

How much is a heavy-duty stairlift in St. John?

Heavy-duty units start at $5,050 and are rated to 600 lb with a reinforced rail and a wider seat. Like every model, the price includes on-site measurement, installation, and the 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage.

A word from Luis

St. John is a different install than Schererville or Crown Point. The housing stock here is newer — 1990s and up — so you get wider treads and cleaner stair geometry. But you also get a lot of two-story layouts where the staircase turns at a landing. A straight rail won't work on those — you need a custom-curved unit, and I've measured 200 of them in Gates of St. John alone.

The other thing families don't expect is the weather. When it's 5°F in January, an outdoor lift on a Lake Hills porch has to start every time, so we spec IP55 weather-sealed units for every exterior install. I live in the region. When I tell a family in Walden Clearing the install takes three hours, I mean it — I know what the stairs look like before I walk through the door.

Luis Ramírez, St. John
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

St. John families tend to research thoroughly — you don't build in one of Lake County's higher-income towns without valuing quality, and that's the right instinct for a stairlift too. Whether it's a straight rail for a Bramblewood ranch or a curved unit for a two-story in The Preserve, the product that fits your actual stairs is the one worth buying.

We measure every job on site, no exceptions. Call (800) 965-0350 or fill out the form to schedule an in-home assessment. Luis walks the stairs with you, takes measurements, and gives you a printed quote the same day — no pressure, no same-day-sign gimmicks.
