Expert Stairlift Installation in South Fayette, PA

South Fayette Township's older sections around Morgan, Cuddy, and Noblestown are full of two-story homes built long before anyone thought about aging in place, while newer subdivisions like Sterling Ridge, The Berkshires, and Newbury tend toward layouts with their own multi-level quirks. Either way, stairs are stairs — and with 17.8% of the township's roughly 18,300 residents over 65, a lot of families here are weighing a stairlift instead of a move. We put straight rails in the newer builds off Forest Ridge and Newbury about as often as we template curved rails around the tighter, turned stairwells on the older Cuddy and Noblestown streets.

Stairlift Service Across Allegheny County

Allegheny County, PA

South Fayette splits cleanly between old and new, and the stairs follow. The 1900s miner's cottages in Sturgeon, Morgan, Cuddy and National Hill have narrow treads and original wood, so we lean on compact rails and a folding seat. The newer planned communities — Newbury, Hickory Heights and Springhouse — have wide oak-hardwood staircases that take a standard straight rail in a single morning. The patio-home communities at Stonegate and the Villas of Wood Creek are popular with downsizing seniors, often a short flight to a second-floor bedroom. Whatever the layout, the rail bolts to the treads and leaves only dime-sized holes if you ever remove it.

Common Questions

Everything South Fayette Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost for a South Fayette home?

Straight staircases — common in the newer Sterling Ridge, Newbury, and Forest Ridge subdivisions — typically run $2,000–$5,000 installed. Older Morgan, Cuddy, and Noblestown homes more often have a turn or a mid-flight landing, which calls for a curved rail custom-built to that specific staircase; those jobs usually land between $10,000 and $15,000. With homeownership here at 81.3%, almost everything we quote is for an owner-occupied house, not a rental.

Is South Fayette pricier for a stairlift than nearby towns?

Not because of the zip code — pricing follows the staircase, not the address. The township skews toward the premium end on affordability, but we quote the same rail pricing here as anywhere else in Allegheny County; what actually moves the number is whether the stairs are straight or turned, and how many steps you've got.

A word from Luis
I've done lifts on both ends of this township — a straight rail in a Sterling Ridge colonial and a curved one in an older farmhouse-style place near Noblestown where the stairs turn twice before the landing. The wooded, hilly lots out here mean a lot of these houses have basements or split levels too, so the main staircase isn't always the only one people call about. With ANSYS and the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's South Center campus employing a lot of working-age adults in the township, close to half my South Fayette calls now come from an adult child setting up the install for a parent.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

South Fayette keeps growing — new homes in Newbury, new restaurants, a planned community center on Hickory Grade Road — but the older neighborhoods are still full of multi-generational families. A stairlift lets you keep the second floor and stay on familiar streets instead of letting the stairs decide when you move.

Call Luis at (800) 965-0350 or fill out the quote form. He'll visit your South Fayette home — off Millers Run Road, in Hickory Heights, or on a Wood Creek cul-de-sac — measure every tread and give you a firm price. No obligation and no pressure.
