Stairlift Service Across Sevier County

Sevier County, TN

From Boyds Creek farmhouses with 1920s narrow staircases to Cherokee Hills ranch homes where the basement stairs become the daily obstacle, Seymour's housing runs a century deep. Bays Mountain Estates has 1990s two-stories with oak-tread stairs; over in Shooks Gap, split-levels from the 1970s trap seniors between the living room and bedroom with a half-flight that gets harder every year. Porterfield Gap hillside builds often have 14-step straight runs. Seymour Air Park offers newer single-level homes, but porch steps and basement stairs still need outdoor units. We've bolted rails to hardwood, carpet, tile, and stone treads in every corner of this Chapman Highway corridor.

Straight

Dark Hardwood Stairs, Bays Mountain Estates

Bays Mountain Estates, TN Installed February 2026

1990s two-story with dark oak treads and a straight 12-step staircase rising from the entry foyer. The Kincaids' mother, 78, had started avoiding the upstairs bathroom at night. Luis mounted the beige seat at the bottom landing, bolting the rail directly into the oak treads. No wall anchors needed. The chair folds to 12 inches — the staircase is still walkable for the rest of the family.

Curved

Curved Rail at Upper Landing, Cherokee Hills

Cherokee Hills, TN Installed March 2026

Ranch home with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing where the staircase wraps around a half-wall beneath a chandelier. The curved rail was laser-measured in one hour, then custom-bent at the factory. Luis positioned the brown seat at the top floor, letting Mr. Pendleton ride down to the kitchen each morning. The rail follows the turn perfectly — no overhang, no dead space.

Stone-Tread Stairs, Boyds Creek

Boyds Creek, TN Installed January 2026

A compact 1925 farmhouse with tile-over-stone treads leading up from a small living area near a wooden sideboard. Tight clearance — 34 inches. Luis mounted the brown seat at the base, anchoring into the stone with hardened bolts. The install took an extra 30 minutes for the stone drilling, but the rail sits flush and stable. Mrs. McCaslin, 82, uses it to reach her bedroom without her daughter shadowing her.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Entry, Porterfield Gap

Porterfield Gap, TN Installed April 2026

Hillside home with a rough stone-paved porch entry — seven steps up from the driveway with no handrail on the open side. Luis installed a cream outdoor-rated unit with IP55 weather sealing and marine-grade components. The rail bolts to the stone treads. A fitted cover keeps the seat dry through Seymour's winter freeze-thaw cycles. Mrs. Henson, 76, now gets her mail and greets visitors without help.

Carpeted Stairs, Shooks Gap

Shooks Gap, TN Installed December 2025

1970s split-level off Chapman Highway with carpeted treads — beige pile that matches the stairlift upholstery. The half-flight connects the main living area to the bedroom level. Mr. Ellison, a retired teacher with arthritis, had been sleeping on the couch for six months to avoid the stairs. Luis mounted the brown seat at the base landing with a tiled floor. The install was done in a morning.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform, Seymour Air Park

Seymour Air Park, TN Installed May 2026

Single-level home with a straight staircase to a finished basement. The Delgados' adult daughter uses a manual wheelchair and needed basement access for the family room and laundry. Luis installed an inclined platform lift — flat black deck with yellow safety edges, not a seat. She rolls on, engages the lock, and rides down. The platform folds up when not in use. White handrail matches the existing stair rail.

Common Questions

Everything Seymour Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Seymour, TN?

A straight stairlift in Seymour starts at $2,800 installed. Curved units start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000, and heavy-duty models (rated to 600 lb) start at $5,050. We give you a firm quote at the free assessment — no surprises, no upsells.

Are there any hidden fees with a Seymour stairlift installation?

No. The quote we give you at the assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, chair, installation labor, and a demo of how to use it. We don't charge extra for weekend installs, and there's no separate trip charge for Seymour addresses along the Chapman Highway corridor.

Is financing available for a stairlift in Seymour?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month. We run the application at the assessment; most Seymour families get an answer in under 10 minutes. No prepayment penalty, and you can pay it off early. We also walk you through the TennCare CHOICES home modification benefit (up to $6,000) and VA HISA grant paperwork if you qualify.

Does Medicare cover stairlift costs in Seymour?

Medicare Parts A and B do not cover stairlifts — they classify them as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans in Tennessee offer a home-safety allowance, but it varies by plan. We'll help you check. Most Seymour families use a combination of the CHOICES program, VA HISA grants, or our $79/month financing.

A word from Luis

I've installed lifts up and down the Chapman Highway corridor for 15 years now — Boyds Creek farmhouses built in the 1920s, newer two-stories in Bays Mountain Estates, split-levels over in Shooks Gap. The housing stock here is all over the map, which means the stair geometry is too. Some homes have those narrow 32-inch staircases from the 1970s. Others have wide oak treads in 1990s builds. Curved stairs aren't as common here as they are up in Gatlinburg, but I've done a few in Cherokee Hills where the staircase wraps around a landing.

The thing I tell every Seymour family at the assessment is this: we're going to measure your exact stair, bolt the rail to the treads — not the wall — and have the lift running in about three hours. No drywall damage, no rewiring. And the battery backup matters here because winter ice storms knock out power on these hillside roads more often than folks expect.

— Luis Ramírez, Seymour
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Seymour sits in a practical spot — 12 miles from Knoxville, 9 from Sevierville, and about half an hour from the Smokies. For families here, the question isn't whether to get a stairlift. It's whether to wait until after a fall. Most of the homes we work in were built between 1970 and 2005, and the stairs in that era weren't planned for aging in place.

If your mom is holding the handrail with both hands on the way up, or your dad has started sleeping in the recliner because the bedroom feels too far — call us. We'll come out, measure the stairs, and give you a firm number. Same day.
