Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across San Bernardino County

San Bernardino County, CA

Del Rosa, in the northeast foothills, has the oldest housing stock — 1940s and 1950s bungalows with narrow staircases, original hardwood treads, and occasionally a half-landing requiring a curved rail. Steeper lot grades here create more outdoor-entry stairlift demand than anywhere else in the city.

Downtown San Bernardino around Court Street and D Street mixes pre-war Victorians with mid-century buildings. The Victorians have original banisters homeowners refuse to alter — our rail bolts into treads without touching the banister or millwork.

The University District near CSUSB and the Hospitality Lane corridor is the 1980s tract-home belt — standard two-stories with wide staircases. These are our fastest installs: straight run, standard brackets, three hours.

The Arrowhead Springs foothills toward Highway 18 have steeper lots and exterior stairs from driveways to main entries — demanding weather-sealed outdoor equipment rated for summer heat and winter frost.

Straight

Del Rosa bungalow — straight rail on original hardwood oak treads

Del Rosa, CA Installed March 2026

A 1952 bungalow in the Del Rosa foothills with original dark oak treads and a banister the family had maintained for over 70 years. We brought color samples on the first visit, matched the rail finish to the oak grain, and bolted the track into the treads without touching a single spindle. The beige-seat rail is nearly invisible when parked at the upper landing. Mrs. Castillo's book club met twice before anyone noticed it.

Hospitality Lane corridor two-story — curved rail with 90° upper-landing turn

Hospitality Lane Corridor, CA Installed February 2026

A 1988 two-story tract home near Hospitality Lane with a 90° turn at the upper landing. The Nguyens' mother had been sleeping on the living room couch for three months because she couldn't manage the turn. We digitally scanned the staircase on the first visit, custom-fabricated a curved rail, and installed in a single afternoon. The brown-seat chair parks flush at the landing and swivels so she steps off onto the hallway, not the top tread. She slept in her own bed that night for the first time since November.

Downtown San Bernardino Victorian — compact straight rail preserving original wooden sideboard

Downtown San Bernardino, CA Installed January 2026

A 1920s Victorian on D Street with stone-tile treads, a narrow stairwell, and an original wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs that the homeowner was clear could not be touched. We mounted the brown-seat rail along the opposite wall, ran the track past the sideboard with two inches to spare, and added a folding footrest so the chair parks flush against the wall when not in use. Mrs. Whitfield keeps fresh flowers on the sideboard every week — the lift doesn't interfere.

Arrowhead Springs hillside — outdoor stairlift on stone-paved entry steps

Arrowhead Springs, CA Installed December 2025

A hillside home where the driveway sits 5 feet below the main entry — the stone-paved exterior stairs are the only way in. The Martinez family's father uses a walker and could no longer manage the climb. We mounted a cream-seat outdoor lift with UV-coated housing for the IE summer sun, stainless fasteners rated for the occasional winter frost in the foothills, and a keyed lockout at the bottom for security. It has run through one full summer of 110°F days without a service call.

University District — straight rail on carpeted stairs with swivel exit

University District, CA Installed November 2025

A two-story home two blocks from CSUSB where three generations share the house. Mrs. Orozco's granddaughter is a nursing student at the university; she was the one who called. The stairs are carpeted, 14 treads, with a tight turn at the bottom newel. We installed the brown-seat model with a swivel-exit at the top so abuela steps off onto the hallway floor, and a folding footrest so the grandchildren can still pass the rail on their way to class.

Platform Lift

Del Rosa split-entry — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Del Rosa, CA Installed October 2025

The Reyes' son was injured in a motorcycle accident and now uses a power wheelchair. The split-entry Del Rosa home has six steps from the garage level to the main floor — a common foothills layout. We installed an inclined platform lift with yellow high-visibility safety edges, a fold-up deck when not in use, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. The platform handles the daily in-and-out without blocking the stairs for other family members.

Common Questions

Everything San Bernardino Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in San Bernardino right now?

Straight rails in standard San Bernardino homes — the tract homes along Hospitality Lane, the Del Rosa bungalows, the two-stories near CSUSB — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level ranches and foothills homes with landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for hillside entries in the Arrowhead Springs area run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in the Inland Empire than in LA?

Equipment prices are the same across California — we don't inflate quotes for zip codes. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: hillside lots in the foothills that require extra anchoring, pre-war homes in downtown San Bernardino with original banister preservation, and heat-rated motor specs that we include as a standard baseline in every Inland Empire install. We tell you the line items upfront.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every San Bernardino assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. For the Inland Empire's Hispanic community, it's how business should be done.

My home is on a steep hill near Arrowhead. Does the grade affect the price?

The interior stairlift price is the same regardless of lot grade. What the grade affects is whether you also need an outdoor entry lift — many hillside homes in Arrowhead Springs have exterior stairs from the driveway up to the main floor. If that's the case, we quote the outdoor unit separately and both quotes are written and honored for 30 days.

A word from Luis

Most Inland Empire families call me after a near-miss on the stairs — a slip in a Del Rosa ranch that's been in the family since 1972, a parent who hasn't been upstairs in months after knee surgery at St. Bernardine's, a daughter in LA calling about her father in Arrowhead Springs who won't admit the climb is getting harder every week.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
