Luis installed a straight rail in our Leisure Knoll ranch last March. My husband uses it three times a day now instead of sleeping on the pullout downstairs. The oak treads weren't touched and the seat folds right out of the way.

We have a Leisure Village condo with that turn at the landing. Luis came in, laser-measured the staircase, and had the curved rail fabricated and installed in about ten days. It glides around the corner without a bump. Worth every penny.

The outdoor lift on our front porch off Randall Road has been through two nor'easters and a January freeze with no issues. Luis explained the marine-grade rail and the sealing before we bought. Out here near the Pine Barrens that matters.

I've done over 200 installs in Ridge, and three out of four are in the Leisure communities. The Leisure Village condos have a particular staircase — a tight turn at the upper landing with narrow treads, often hardwood — so those almost always get a custom curved rail. Leisure Knoll ranches, on the other hand, are straight flights that go in fast.
Before I quote anything I check the pitch. A lot of these 1970s Knoll and Park Ridge stairs run steeper than today's code, around 38 degrees, which changes the seat angle and the footrest setup. I know these Ridge floor plans cold.
