Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Champaign County

Champaign County, IL

We install across every part of Rantoul. In Indian Hills and Golfview, 1970s split-levels mean a mid-flight landing — usually a straight rail with a short top section. The 1950s ranches in Bel Air have narrow 28–30" stairs, so we fit the Slimline rail that adds just 11 inches. Newer South Pointe two-stories carry wider treads and standard rails. The brick and frame homes in Maplewood and Heritage Estates often have carpeted flights we trim around neatly. Out in Rantoul East, the converted Chanute-era duplexes have the tightest geometry — that's where a precise tread measurement matters most. Nearby Champaign and Danville are part of our regular Champaign County route.

Indian Hills — straight rail on original oak treads

Indian Hills, IL Installed March 2026

A 1972 split-level in Indian Hills with dark oak treads and a straight lower flight. We bolted a 13 ft straight rail directly to the treads, set the beige seat at the bottom landing, and prioritized the sealed battery backup the family asked for. Done in a single afternoon.

Golfview — curved rail parked at the upper landing

Golfview, IL Installed February 2026

An early-1980s home in Golfview with a 90° turn at the top of the stairs. We laser-measured the flight and fabricated an 18 ft custom curved rail so the brown seat parks neatly out of the way on the upper landing. The ride wraps the turn smoothly with no transfer.

A compact 1958 ranch in Bel Air with ceramic tile treads and a tight stairwell beside a wooden sideboard. The Slimline straight rail fit the narrow flight without crowding the cabinet, leaving plenty of walking clearance for the rest of the household.

South Pointe — straight rail on carpeted stairs

South Pointe, IL Installed April 2026

A 2005 two-story in South Pointe with beige carpeted treads. We ran a 14 ft straight rail up the flight and trimmed the carpet cleanly around each bracket, so the brown seat matches the carpet tones and the stairs still look untouched.

A converted 1940s Chanute-era duplex on the east side, fitted with an indoor inclined wheelchair platform. The flat deck rides on a 16 ft rail with yellow safety edges and a white handrail, so the homeowner reaches the main floor in his wheelchair without transferring.

Common Questions

Everything Rantoul Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a straight stairlift cost in Rantoul?

Straight stairlifts in Rantoul start at $2,800 installed for a standard-width staircase. Longer flights add roughly $200 per extra foot of rail. The quote includes the rail, seat, labor, battery backup and a full controls demo — no separate site-visit fee.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more in Champaign County?

A curved lift in Rantoul starts at $9,000 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase after a one-hour laser measurement. Older Chanute-era homes with winder turns need a single continuous curved rail, which costs more than a straight track but rides far smoother.

Are there hidden costs beyond the quoted price?

No. The price we quote in Rantoul includes the rail, seat, professional installation, labor, battery backup and a demo of the controls. There are no structural charges because the rail bolts to the stair treads, not to your walls.

How much is a heavy-duty stairlift?

Our heavy-duty model is rated to 600 lb and starts at $5,050 installed. It uses a reinforced dual-tube rail and a wider 22-inch seat, and fits the same Rantoul staircases a standard lift would — including the wider east-side duplexes near the former base.

A word from Luis

Rantoul's housing tells the story of Chanute. You've got 1910s and '40s officer-row homes near the old base, 1970s split-levels in Indian Hills, and newer construction out in South Pointe. The converted base duplexes on the east side sometimes run 30 inches at the stairs, but even those take a standard Slimline rail without trouble.

What trips families up isn't the install — it's the funding. A good share of Rantoul households have a veteran in them, which means the VA HISA grant is on the table for a lot of my customers. I walk every family through it before we ever order a rail.

— Luis Ramírez, Rantoul
