Stairlift Service Across Rockland County

Rockland County, NY

From the 1960s split-levels and bi-levels of Airmont and Hillcrest — where the conversation is almost always about fitting a rail past a mid-staircase landing turn on carpeted or hardwood treads — to the 1970s colonials of Wesley Hills and New Hempstead where wide formal staircases turn at the upper landing, our team has mapped every village in Ramapo. We know which Suffern village cottages have the stone accent walls that other installers call impossible, which Spring Valley ranches have the raised front entries that need freeze-thaw sealed outdoor rails, and which Monsey and Viola multi-level homes require wheelchair platform lifts for full-floor accessibility. We also serve Montebello, Kaser, Sloatsburg, Chestnut Ridge, and Pomona.

Straight

Airmont split-level — straight rail on original hardwood stairs

Airmont, NY Installed March 2026

A 1965 split-level in Airmont with original hardwood treads and the classic Rockland County floor plan — six steps up from the foyer to the main living level, then eight more to the bedrooms. Mrs. Goldberg had a hip replacement at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern and her orthopedist told the family to eliminate stair climbing before she came home. Her daughter called us on a Tuesday. We measured Wednesday, confirmed the lower flight was a clean straight run with no banister interference, and installed by Friday afternoon. The rail bolts into the hardwood treads only — no wall damage, no banister contact, no mess. Mrs. Goldberg came home from Good Sam on Saturday and rode upstairs without touching the railing. She's used it every day since without a single service call.

Wesley Hills colonial — curved rail past the upper landing turn

Wesley Hills, NY Installed February 2026

A 1978 colonial in Wesley Hills with a wide staircase that turns 90 degrees at the upper landing — the kind of staircase a national chain will quote as two separate straight rails requiring a mid-flight transfer. We laser-scanned the entire run, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mrs. Schwartz from the foyer to the upstairs hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps off directly onto the hallway floor. The family had been considering selling the house and moving to a ranch. The curved rail cost a fraction of what a move would have, and Mrs. Schwartz told us she couldn't imagine leaving the home where she raised four children.

Suffern village cottage — straight rail alongside stone accent wall

Suffern, NY Installed January 2026

A 1952 stone-front cottage in Suffern village, two blocks from Lafayette Avenue, with interior stairs bordered by a decorative fieldstone half-wall on one side. The DeLucas had been told by another installer that the stone made a stairlift impossible. We mounted the rail on the open tread side opposite the stone, ran the track tight to the wall line, and the chair folds flat enough that their daughter still carries groceries past without squeezing. Mr. DeLuca is 87 and had been sleeping in the downstairs den for six months because the stairs were too risky. He slept in his own bedroom the night we installed and hasn't come back downstairs to sleep since.

Spring Valley raised porch — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone entry steps

Spring Valley, NY Installed December 2025

A 1960s raised ranch in Spring Valley with eight exterior stone steps from the driveway to the front porch — no handrail, and a Hudson Valley freeze-thaw cycle that makes the flagstone treacherous from November through March. Mrs. Morales uses a walker full-time and had not left the house in two months because the front steps were impassable. Her son called us after she missed three doctor's appointments. We installed an outdoor straight rail sealed against Rockland County's freeze-thaw, with a cold-weather battery rated to -10°F and marine-grade fasteners to handle the road salt that blows up from Route 59. Mrs. Morales walked out her front door the next morning for the first time since October. Her son drove her to the doctor that afternoon.

Hillcrest midcentury ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Hillcrest, NY Installed November 2025

A 1964 bi-level ranch in Hillcrest with wall-to-wall carpeted stairs, standard width, and a clean straight run from the lower level to the bedrooms. Mrs. Baptiste had been managing the stairs by sitting down and scooting up one step at a time after her second knee surgery — her home health aide told the family that method would eventually cause a fall. We measured on a Monday, installed Tuesday afternoon, and Mrs. Baptiste rode the lift for the first time that evening. The rail bolts through the carpet into the treads — no carpet removal, no re-stretching, no staple mess. Her aide told us the next visit that Mrs. Baptiste was going upstairs three times a day instead of once because she finally could.

Platform Lift

Monsey accessible remodel — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Monsey, NY Installed October 2025

A multi-level home in Monsey where Mr. Katz uses a power wheelchair after a spinal cord injury. The five-step interior level change between the main entry and the living area made the home functionally inaccessible — he was confined to the lower level while the rest of the family lived upstairs. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift on the stairway with a flat anti-slip platform and high-visibility yellow safety edges on every border. The controls are mounted at wheelchair height on both levels, and the automatic safety gate locks before the platform moves. Mr. Katz rolls on, presses one button, and rides up the stairway to the living area. His wife told us he ate dinner at the family table for the first time in eight months the night we installed it.

Common Questions

Everything Ramapo Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Ramapo right now?

Straight rails in standard Ramapo homes — the 1960s Airmont split-levels, the Hillcrest bi-levels, the Spring Valley ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, required for most Wesley Hills colonials and homes with landing turns, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for the raised front entries common across Spring Valley and Airmont run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different for Suffern vs. Monsey vs. Airmont?

Equipment prices are identical across every village in Ramapo — we don't adjust quotes by neighborhood. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: stone accent walls in older Suffern cottages, multi-level Monsey homes requiring platform lifts, or cold-weather outdoor installs in Spring Valley that need freeze-thaw sealing. We itemize every line upfront. No surprise fees.

Does the cold-weather outdoor package cost extra?

No. Every outdoor Ramapo install ships with freeze-thaw sealing, salt-resistant 316-stainless fasteners, and a cold-weather battery rated to -10°F as standard. Rockland County's Hudson Valley winters demand it — an outdoor rail without freeze-thaw protection starts cracking within two seasons. National chains price these as $300–$500 add-ons. We include them because it's the only responsible way to install outdoor equipment in this climate.

What does a wheelchair platform lift cost in a multi-level Monsey home?

Indoor inclined platform lifts for the multi-level homes common in Monsey and parts of Spring Valley run $8,000 to $14,000 depending on the rise height and whether the unit needs to handle a full-width power chair. The price includes the platform, rail, safety edges, gate interlocks, installation, and the first service visit. For VA-eligible veterans the HISA grant can offset up to $6,800 of that cost.

A word from Luis

Most Ramapo families call me after a near-miss — a parent who slipped on the carpeted stairs of a 1960s Airmont split-level, a grandmother in Monsey who hasn't been upstairs in a month, a son in Manhattan worried about his father alone in a Spring Valley colonial with steep stairs and no one nearby to help.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
