Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County, FL

We install throughout Progress Village, the planned community founded in 1960 along Progress Boulevard. The original Unit 1 and Unit 2 ranches have compact 32-to-34-inch staircases with tile or linoleum treads that need a slim straight rail and a carbide bit to drill cleanly through the tile. The two-story townhomes in Oak Creek and Magnolia Park often turn at the upper landing — that's a curved-rail job we laser-measure on site. Homes on the lower-lying Delaney Creek side that want porch access get the IP55 weather-sealed outdoor unit for Florida rain and humidity. We also serve nearby Palm River-Clair Mel, Gibsonton, Riverview, and Brandon.

Straight

Oak Creek — straight rail on dark hardwood treads

Oak Creek, FL Installed February 2026

A two-story Oak Creek townhome with dark hardwood stairs — 13 steps, straight run, 34 inches wide. The Williams family needed a lift for Mrs. Williams, 72, who had stopped using the upstairs bedroom after a fall. Luis installed a beige straight-rail unit with the seat parked at the bottom landing, finished in 3 hours.

Magnolia Park — 90° curved rail at the upper landing

Magnolia Park, FL Installed March 2026

A two-story Magnolia Park townhome with a staircase that turns 90° at the upper landing — carpeted treads, a chandelier above. The curved rail was laser-measured on site, factory-bent, and installed in one day. The brown seat parks at the top floor, tucked tight against the half-wall so it stays out of the hallway.

Progress Village Unit 1 — compact rail on tile treads

Progress Village Unit 1, FL Installed January 2026

An original 1962 ranch in Unit 1 with tile-over-concrete treads — 12 steps, only 32 inches wide. The narrow clearance called for a slim-profile rail, and Luis used a carbide bit to drill through the tile without cracking it. The brown seat installs at the bottom near a wooden sideboard along the wall.

Delaney Creek — outdoor straight rail on stone pavers

Delaney Creek, FL Installed April 2026

A Delaney Creek-side home with five rough-stone porch steps up to the front door. Mr. Rodriguez, 78, could no longer manage the uneven pavers. Luis installed a cream-colored outdoor straight rail — IP55 weather-sealed, marine-grade fasteners, UV-resistant seat — built for Florida rain and humidity on the lower-lying side of the neighborhood.

Progress Village Unit 2 — carpeted straight run

Progress Village Unit 2, FL Installed February 2026

A Unit 2 ranch with 13 carpeted steps in a warm beige tone — the brown stairlift seat matched the carpet almost exactly. The standard straight rail bolted through the carpet into the wood treads beneath, and the carpet laid back down over the brackets so the mounting points barely show. Finished in 3 hours.

Platform Lift

Progress Boulevard core — indoor wheelchair platform

Progress Boulevard, FL Installed May 2026

The Bennetts' son uses a wheelchair full-time, and their original ranch off Progress Boulevard had an interior half-flight he couldn't pass. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail that folds up when parked. The platform carries his chair the full run, indoor install only, done in about 4 hours.

Common Questions

Everything Progress Village Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Progress Village?

A straight stairlift for a standard Progress Village staircase — 12 to 14 steps, 32 to 34 inches wide — starts at $2,800 installed. That price includes the rail, seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. Most original Unit 1 and Unit 2 ranches take a straight rail at the base price.

How much is a curved stairlift in a Progress Village two-story?

Curved stairlifts start at $9,000. Every curved rail is custom-bent to your exact stair geometry after a 1-hour laser measurement in your home — common for the two-story Oak Creek and Magnolia Park townhomes that turn at the upper landing. The price covers the custom rail, seat, and full installation.

Do you charge extra for battery backup on Progress Village installs?

No. Battery backup is standard on every stairlift we install — straight, curved, outdoor, or heavy-duty. The 4Ah battery runs the lift for roughly 6 hours after a power cut, which matters in Progress Village during hurricane season and summer thunderstorm outages.

Is there a warranty on stairlifts installed in Progress Village?

Yes — 5 years on parts and motor, plus a lifetime warranty on the rail itself. Financing is also available from $79/month for qualified buyers, with no prepayment penalty.

A word from Luis

Progress Village homes tell a story when you walk in. The original 1960s units in Unit 1 and Unit 2 were built as ranches and split-levels — a lot of 12-step straight staircases with tile or linoleum treads, narrow by today's standards at about 32 to 34 inches wide. The newer two-story townhomes in Oak Creek and Magnolia Park are where I bend a curved rail around the upper landing.

What I tell families here is to think about storm season. Progress Village took a beating from Hurricanes Helene and Milton — power was out for days. Every lift we install has a 4Ah battery backup that runs it for roughly 6 hours after the power cuts. On the lower-lying Delaney Creek side, if you want a porch lift, go with the IP55 weather-sealed outdoor model.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Progress Village was built in 1960 as Tampa's first planned community for Black homeownership, and a lot of those original Unit 1 and Unit 2 families still live in the homes they bought. A stairlift lets you keep the house you fought to own and use every floor of it again.

A straight rail goes in about 3 hours; a curved rail for an Oak Creek or Magnolia Park two-story takes a day because the rail ships custom-bent from the factory. Every lift includes a 4Ah battery backup that runs through storm-season outages. Call (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment.
