Stairlift Service Across Martin County

Martin County, FL

The Manatee Pocket Waterfront District holds Port Salerno's oldest homes — 1950s and 1960s fishing cottages with steep, narrow staircases that need a slim straight rail. New Monrovia, the historic platted-grid neighborhood west of A1A, runs to compact 1960s homes, many with carpeted stairs. Rocky Point and its waterfront pockets — Manatee Bay, Manatee Cove, and Inlet Isle — sit right on the water, where dock-level porch entries take a marine-grade outdoor lift built for salt spray off the Pocket. Homes here range from raised waterfront builds to single-story ranches, so we measure each staircase on site and spec the rail to match. We serve all of these, plus the streets along Salerno Road and Cove Road.

New Monrovia — straight rail on original oak treads

New Monrovia, FL Installed February 2026

This 1968 New Monrovia ranch had original oak treads that turned slippery for the homeowner after hip surgery. We bolted the straight rail to the treads with the beige seat at the bottom landing — no wall mounting, no drywall opened. Three-hour install, woodwork untouched.

Manatee Pocket Waterfront District, FL Installed November 2025

A compact 1959 cottage in the Manatee Pocket Waterfront District had a narrow stairwell beside a wooden sideboard with tile treads. We fit a slim-rail straight unit that clamped to the treads and left a 24-inch walking clearance. The brown seat tucks in beside the cabinet.

Common Questions

Everything Port Salerno Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Port Salerno?

A straight stairlift in Port Salerno starts at $2,800 installed. That covers the rail, the seat, battery backup, and the three-hour installation. The price you're quoted at the assessment is the price you pay.

Does salt air off the Manatee Pocket affect cost?

Only for outdoor and near-water installs. Those use IP55-rated units with marine-grade seals, which adds roughly $300 to $500 over a standard indoor straight unit. Curved lifts start at $9,000 and outdoor lifts at $4,000.

Are there financing options in Port Salerno?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month. We also walk you through the Florida SMMC-LTC Medicaid waiver application and the VA HISA grant paperwork, both of which can cover most or all of the cost for those who qualify.

Is a curved stairlift worth the higher price?

If your Port Salerno staircase has a turn, a landing, or an intermediate flat section, a curved lift is the only safe option. It runs $9,000 and up and installs in a day — far less than the $15,000-plus a staircase remodel typically costs.

A word from Luis

Port Salerno homes tell a story the moment I walk in. The older fishing cottages around the Manatee Pocket and New Monrovia have steep, narrow staircases — we use slim-rail units there so there's still room to walk past. The newer builds out toward Rocky Point have wider treads and open stairwells, which makes for a quicker install.

The real variable here is the salt air. Any home within a mile of the Pocket gets marine-grade components, even on an indoor lift, because the humidity alone will corrode standard parts in a couple of years. I'd rather spec it right the first time than come back.

A lot of my customers are veterans or long-time waterfront families on fixed incomes. I walk them through the VA HISA grant and the Florida SMMC-LTC Medicaid paperwork myself. If the stairs in your Port Salerno home are getting hard, call me and I'll come measure.

— Luis Ramírez, Port Salerno
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Port Salerno is a place where the fishing heritage runs deep — families have lived along the Manatee Pocket for generations, and many of those homes have staircases built before accessibility was a word anyone used. A stairlift isn't a luxury here. It's the difference between a senior staying in the home they've owned since 1972 and having to move to a single-story condo in Stuart.

If the stairs in your Port Salerno home are getting hard, call us at (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment. We'll measure your staircase, give you a flat price that holds, and handle any VA or Florida Medicaid paperwork that applies.
