Bestseller

The workhorse for Port Arthur’s Gulf Coast bungalows and 1970s two-stories — flood-bracket standard on every install. Most Port Arthur homes are single straight staircases built between 1950 and 1990 — pier-and-beam bungalows in Port Arthur Heights, brick two-stories near Lakeview, post-Harvey rebuilds along the Groves border. Every straight-rail install in Jefferson County ships with our Gulf Coast baseline: quick-release seat bracket for flood events, high-humidity lubricant rated for Southeast Texas air, and UV-stabilized upholstery that handles 90-percent summer humidity without cracking. Most installs wrap in under four hours.

Stairlift Service Across Jefferson County

Jefferson County, TX

From the original pier-and-beam bungalows of Port Arthur Heights — many built in the 1950s, repaired after Harvey, and now home to grandparents who have outlasted every named storm in Jefferson County — to the brick two-stories near Lakeview and the renovated homes along Memorial Boulevard, our team has measured staircases across every part of the city. Park Central homes have the 1950s dogleg landings that require custom curved rails. Groves border homes rebuilt on post-Harvey subfloors need different bracket anchoring. Homes inside the FEMA 500-year flood plain get the quick-release bracket standard. We also carry dedicated coverage into Groves, Port Neches, Nederland, and Central Gardens — same installation standards, same Gulf Coast baseline spec.

Port Arthur Heights bungalow — straight rail on original pine treads

Port Arthur Heights, TX Installed March 2026

A 1960s pier-and-beam bungalow in Port Arthur Heights with original heart pine treads and dark-stained hardwood stairs. Mr. Tran is a Vietnam veteran whose VA HISA grant covered the full cost. We mounted a beige seat at the bottom landing, ran the straight rail up the right side along the open-tread staircase, and bolted directly into the pine treads without marking the wood. The warm indoor tones of the 1960s bungalow and the cream-colored seat blend naturally. The quick-release flood bracket is standard on every Jefferson County install.

Curved

Lakeview two-story — curved rail bends around the upper landing

Lakeview, TX Installed February 2026

A 1970s two-story in the Lakeview area where Mrs. Broussard needed a rail that follows the 90-degree curve at the upper-floor landing. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a custom curved rail in 12 days, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top floor so she steps directly onto the hallway. The curved rail bends around the half-wall balustrade at the upper landing, and the powered swivel seat rotates her away from the stair edge before she stands. The quick-release flood bracket is included because the home sits inside the FEMA 500-year flood plain.

Park Central 1950s — compact straight rail in a traditional cottage-style home

Park Central, TX Installed January 2026

A 1950s cottage-style home in Park Central with stone-tile treads and a narrow staircase next to a wooden sideboard. The Fontenot family’s grandfather needed a compact straight rail that wouldn’t block the tight walkway. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat at the bottom near the hallway furniture, ran the slim-profile rail along the wall, and the folding seat tucks flat when parked. The traditional feel of the home — stone treads, potted plants, compact spaces — stayed intact.

Outdoor

Memorial Boulevard — outdoor porch lift on stone-paved entry steps

Memorial Boulevard area, TX Installed December 2025

A raised pier-and-beam home along Memorial Boulevard with stone-paved entry steps leading up to a covered front porch. Mr. Leger’s second cardiac event made the exterior steps dangerous. We installed a cream-colored weather-resistant seat on the raised porch entry, anchored into the natural stone paving at the base. The sealed motor housing handles Gulf Coast humidity and hurricane-season rain, and the UV-stabilized upholstery won’t crack in Port Arthur’s 95-percent-humidity summers. The quick-release flood bracket lets the motor be carried inside in under five minutes.

Groves border — straight rail on carpeted post-Harvey staircase

Groves border, TX Installed November 2025

A home on the Port Arthur–Groves border where the carpeted staircase was rebuilt after Harvey flood damage. Mrs. Nguyen had been reluctant to put anything permanent on stairs she considered temporary. We measured the actual tread geometry on the carpet-covered treads, confirmed bracket spacing was safe on the rebuilt subfloor, and installed a brown-upholstered seat that matches the warm carpet tones. The seat sits at the landing with wall-mounted light switches accessible on the opposite side. The carpet pile hides the bolt flanges cleanly.

Platform Lift

Lakeview — indoor wheelchair platform lift for refinery-injury recovery

Lakeview, TX Installed October 2025

A Lakeview home where Mr. Guidry, who lost partial mobility following a refinery accident, uses a power wheelchair and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail. The platform rides the rail at an incline so Mr. Guidry rolls his wheelchair on at the bottom, rides up, and rolls off at the top floor without leaving his chair. The orange-toned interior walls and the window beside the stairway make the installation feel integrated into the home.

Common Questions

Everything Port Arthur Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Port Arthur right now?

Straight rails in standard Port Arthur homes — the 1950s to 1980s bungalows in Port Arthur Heights, the pier-and-beam two-stories in Lakeview, the post-Harvey rebuilds along the Groves border — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for older homes with dogleg landings, which are common in pre-1970 Park Central construction, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Every quote includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the Gulf Coast flood-bracket upgrade at no additional charge. Honored for 30 days, in writing.

Does the VA HISA grant cover the full cost for Port Arthur veterans?

It can — and often does. Port Arthur has one of the highest veteran percentages in Texas. The VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected disabilities, which is the full installed cost of most straight-rail stairlifts in Jefferson County. Non-service-connected disabilities qualify for up to $2,000. We prefill VA Form 10-0103, coordinate with the HISA coordinators at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, and follow up on your behalf. Many Port Arthur veterans have paid nothing out of pocket.

Is there an additional charge for the Gulf Coast flood bracket?

No. The quick-release seat bracket — which lets you remove and carry the motor upstairs in under five minutes ahead of a flood event — is standard on every Jefferson County install. Living in a FEMA flood plain should not cost extra for the protection you need. The bracket is included in the written quote price, no surcharge.

Do you offer financing for Port Arthur homeowners?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and fixed-rate plans from $79 per month. Application is a soft credit pull that does not affect your score and takes about four minutes. Many Port Arthur families combine financing with a partial VA HISA grant or the IRS medical expense deduction to reduce the monthly cost significantly. We walk through the math together during the free assessment so you know the real number before you commit.

A word from Luis

Most Port Arthur families call me after something has already gone wrong — a fall at the top of the stairs, a discharge from Baptist Hospital or the Beaumont VA clinic, or a daughter in Houston who can’t sleep because Dad is alone in a two-story on the Lakeview side. Port Arthur has one of the highest veteran densities in Texas, and I spend more time on HISA paperwork here than anywhere else in Southeast Texas.

I know which Port Arthur Heights bungalows have the narrow 1960s banister clearance, which Lakeview two-stories sit inside the 500-year flood plain, and which Groves border homes were rebuilt on post-Harvey subfloors. One visit, one price, 30 days to decide. Tôi nói tiếng Việt cơ bản — I speak basic Vietnamese for our Port Arthur community members.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Port Arthur’s housing stock has survived Harvey, Imelda, and Beryl — and the families inside those homes have outlasted every storm. If the stairs are now the one thing keeping you from using your own house safely, that is a solvable problem with equipment built specifically for Gulf Coast conditions. Every Jefferson County install ships with the flood-bracket, the humidity-rated lubricant, and the UV-sealed upholstery as baseline — not upgrades.

Call for a free in-home assessment. Luis will be at your door within 24 hours with a written quote honored for 30 days. If you qualify for HISA, we start the paperwork the same week.
