Straight Stairlift

Bestseller

The essential tool for Paramount's post-war ranches, duplexes, and split-level entries — straight runs installed in under three hours. More than 70% of the stairlifts we install in Paramount are this model. The rail anchors into stair treads — never the wall — the seat and footrest fold flat out of the passage, and the battery backup keeps the lift running through Edison outages. Paramount's compact 1950s housing stock means most straight runs are 10-15 feet and wrap in well under half a day. We have fitted stairwells as narrow as 26 inches in West Paramount and Clearwater using the compact-profile version.

Starting at $3,250 installed

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County, CA

From the post-war duplexes of West Paramount — where tight stairwells and shared entries require our compact-profile rail with folding seat and footrest — to the raised-entry ranches near Rosecrans Boulevard where concrete front steps are the primary barrier, our team has measured every stair configuration this city builds. We know which row homes along Rosecrans have the steep internal staircase requiring a swivel-exit seat, which Somerset-area blocks have split-level entries a short straight rail handles in two hours, and which Clearwater properties have original terrazzo treads that need masonry expansion anchors rather than wood screws. We cover Bellflower, Compton, South Gate, Downey, and Lynwood at the same rate — no mileage surcharges for any adjacent community.

Straight

West Paramount duplex — straight rail on dark hardwood treads in a compact stairwell

West Paramount, CA Installed March 2026

A 1953 duplex in West Paramount with open-tread oak stairs and a shared entry. Mrs. Ybarra's mother had been relying on neighbors to help her navigate the dark hardwood treads after a fall last winter. We bolted a straight rail directly into the stair treads — never the wall — with the seat parked at the bottom landing where the warm wood tones of the staircase frame it naturally. The folding seat and footrest leave 22 inches of clear passage when stowed, enough for the downstairs tenant to pass without turning sideways.

Rosecrans row home — curved rail bending 90° at the upper landing

Rosecrans District, CA Installed February 2026

A 1949 row home in the Rosecrans District with a staircase that turns 90° at the upper landing — the standard layout for the block, built when lots were subdivided into parcels barely 25 feet wide. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated the curved rail to the exact geometry, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top floor where Abuela Gutierrez steps off onto the hallway — not the top tread. The modern interior with chandelier and framed art meant the rail had to look right, and it does.

Somerset split-level — straight rail beside a wooden cabinet in a compact entry

Somerset, CA Installed January 2026

A 1961 split-level near Somerset Boulevard where six stone-tread steps between the front door and the main living floor sat next to a wooden sideboard with a potted plant. Mr. Vega needed the lift installed before his discharge from Downey Regional after a hip replacement. We anchored the straight rail into the stone treads in the compact, traditional entry space. Mr. Vega stepped off the ambulance transport and rode the lift to his recliner without asking anyone for help.

Central Paramount ranch — outdoor porch lift on stone-paved entry steps

Central Paramount, CA Installed December 2025

A 1950s ranch in Central Paramount where five concrete porch steps with rough stone paving had become the barrier between Sra. Flores and everything outside her front door. Her son called after she declined a birthday dinner because she couldn't descend safely alone. We installed an outdoor cream-colored seat on the raised porch entry with weather-sealed components and expansion fasteners anchored into the stone floor. Sra. Flores attended the following Sunday's church service without assistance.

Clearwater home — straight rail on carpeted stairs with matching upholstery

Clearwater, CA Installed November 2025

A 1957 ranch in the Clearwater area where Mr. Torres — an Army veteran with a service-connected knee condition — had been white-knuckling the carpeted stairs for two years. We installed a straight rail with brown upholstery that blends with the carpet tones, bolted through the carpet and padding into the structural wood below. The seat parks at the landing beside the wall-mounted light switches. His VA HISA grant of $6,800 covered the full cost.

Platform Lift

Central Paramount two-story — indoor wheelchair platform lift with safety edges

Central Paramount, CA Installed October 2025

A 1962 ranch in Central Paramount that the family had remodeled in 2019. Mrs. Kim's mother-in-law was moving in after a stroke and could not transfer from her wheelchair to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail. The platform rides the stairway rail so she wheels on at the bottom and wheels off at the top without leaving her chair.

Common Questions

Everything Paramount Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Paramount right now?

Straight rails in standard Paramount homes — the post-war duplexes in West Paramount, the raised-entry ranches near Rosecrans, the split-level entries near Somerset — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, needed for stairwells with turns or mid-landing angles, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised concrete porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices inflated in Paramount compared to wealthier LA County cities?

No. Equipment prices are the same across southern California — a West Paramount duplex pays the same as a San Marino estate for identical equipment. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: terrazzo or bare-concrete treads that need masonry anchors, stairwells under 28 inches that require the compact-profile rail, or aged electrical panels that need a dedicated circuit before we plug anything in. Every line item is on the written quote before we start.

Do you charge extra for a Spanish-language assessment?

No. Every Paramount assessment can be conducted entirely in Spanish — Luis is bilingual and has walked families across Paramount through every line of the contract and operating manual in their preferred language. Every printed form is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. In a city where a majority of residents are Hispanic, this is the baseline, not an add-on.

Any hidden fees for older homes or unusual stair conditions?

Any line item that arises from a specific condition — terrazzo drilling, a new electrical circuit for an aged panel, a compact-profile rail for a narrow stairwell — is disclosed during the free assessment, before you see a quote. We do not add fees at installation that weren't in the written estimate. If the staircase has a condition that changes the price, we tell you on day one.

A word from Luis

Paramount is compact — barely four square miles — but the housing stock is denser and older than most people realize. I walk 1950s stucco duplexes in West Paramount where the stairwells are 27 inches wide, raised-entry ranches along Rosecrans where the front steps are the single barrier stopping a 78-year-old from leaving the house safely, and split-levels near Somerset where six steps between the entry and the living room seem like nothing until a hip replacement changes everything.

I measure twice, quote once, and honor that number for 30 days. Bilingual assessment — English or Spanish — on every call. Sin costo adicional.
