Straight Stairlift

Most common · From $3,250

The workhorse of Oxnard’s ranch homes — from Colonia bungalows to RiverPark two-stories. Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in Ventura County are this model. A single straight run, the rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and every unit ships with marine-grade hardware as baseline because the entire city sits within salt-spray range. Most Oxnard installs wrap in under four hours.

Starting at $3,250 installed

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Ventura County

Ventura County, CA

Colonia and Rose Park are the heart of Oxnard’s stairlift market — 1950s and 1960s ranch homes with narrow stairwells, original wood banisters, and steep treads. Most consultations happen in Spanish, and most installs are straight rails with the compact-profile seat. Downtown Oxnard runs older, with some pre-war bungalows where the compact rail is the only option. Oxnard Shores and Channel Islands Harbor shift the conversation to salt-air specs and HOA approvals — we spec stainless fasteners and sealed motor housings as standard for any coastal address. The newer RiverPark development has wide modern stairs and installs often wrap in under three hours.

We also cover Port Hueneme, Ventura, Camarillo, and El Rio — all within the same Ventura County coverage zone, same pricing.

1958 Colonia ranch — straight rail on hardwood treads, bilingual walkthrough

Colonia, CA Installed March 2026

A 1958 ranch in Colonia with dark hardwood treads on an open-tread staircase. Sra. Hernández’s daughter had been helping her mother up the stairs every morning and night for two years. Luis walked Sra. Hernández through every button in Spanish, fitted a standard straight rail bolted to the oak treads with the seat parked at the bottom landing, and left behind a Spanish-language operating manual. The warm wood tones of the treads matched the beige seat upholstery. Sra. Hernández rode it alone for the first time while her daughter watched from the kitchen.

Downtown Oxnard Victorian — curved rail past an original newel post

Downtown Oxnard, CA Installed February 2026

A pre-war Victorian in Downtown Oxnard with a winding staircase and an original carved newel post. We digitally scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the upper landing, and installed in a single afternoon. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the top floor where Mrs. Wallace steps off directly onto the upstairs hallway. Framed art on the stairwell wall and the chandelier above stayed untouched — the rail threads through the modern-European-style interior without contact.

Rose Park bungalow — compact rail in a traditional stairwell

Rose Park, CA Installed January 2026

A 1954 bungalow in Rose Park with stone-tile treads and a narrow stairwell next to a wooden sideboard with a potted plant. Mr. Contreras had been sleeping on the living room couch since his hip replacement at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. The compact cottage feel of the home meant every inch mattered — we fitted the slimmest rail in our catalog with a folding footrest so the lift tucks flat against the wall when parked. The traditional Mediterranean feel of the stairwell stayed intact. Mr. Contreras was back in his own bed that night.

Oxnard Shores beach cottage — marine-grade outdoor rail on stone-paved entry

Oxnard Shores, CA Installed December 2025

A raised beach cottage on Oxnard Shores with stone-paved entry steps leading up to the front porch. The salt spray reaches the stairs within hours of a high-tide westerly. We installed a weather-resistant cream-upholstered seat on a marine-grade outdoor rail with stainless-steel fasteners, sealed IP54 motor housing, and UV-coated upholstery. The stone paving at the base and the covered porch above frame the entry perfectly. The Nakamuras’ previous contractor had installed a standard indoor rail on the exterior two years earlier — it was corroded beyond repair when we arrived.

RiverPark two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs, three-hour install

RiverPark, CA Installed November 2025

A 2015 two-story in RiverPark with carpeted stairs and a landing at the midpoint. Mr. Patel’s mother had moved from Gujarat and the daily stairs were the hardest part of her new American life. The brown-upholstered seat sits on carpet-covered treads that match its warm tones, running from the tiled entry floor up through the carpeted run. We specified the slim-profile rail so the chair powers flush against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Patel Sr. rides it four times a day and has named it. We’re not allowed to share the name.

Platform Lift

Port Hueneme — inclined wheelchair platform for a retired Seabee’s wife

Port Hueneme, CA Installed October 2025

A 1970s ranch in Port Hueneme where Mrs. Torres has MS and uses a wheelchair full-time. A seated stairlift was not an option — she cannot transfer from her chair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and white safety handrails along the indoor stairway. The orange-toned walls of the stairwell provided clearance for the platform width. Mr. Torres — a retired Seabee who served 24 years out of NBVC — qualified for the full HISA grant through the Oxnard VA CBOC, which covered the entire cost.

Common Questions

Everything Oxnard Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Oxnard right now?

Straight rails in standard Oxnard homes — the Colonia ranches, the Rose Park bungalows, the RiverPark two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with a mid-landing turn run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and salt-air-sealed models for Oxnard Shores beach cottages and Channel Islands Harbor entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is the coastal hardware an extra charge?

No. Every Oxnard install — not just the beachfront addresses — ships with marine-grade hardware as baseline. The entire city sits within 5 miles of the Pacific, and standard zinc-plated fasteners pit within 3-4 seasons at this distance. Stainless fasteners and sealed motor housings are included in every written quote. Some national chains charge a $300-$500 coastal upcharge. We don’t.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No — and in Oxnard, Spanish-language service isn’t an accommodation, it’s the default for over half our consultations. Every assessment can be conducted entirely in Spanish. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. Luis is bilingual and conducts most Ventura County consultations personally.

Any hidden fees for Channel Islands Harbor condos?

Our quote includes the HOA/condo paperwork we handle for you. California FEHA requires associations to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities — it’s stronger than federal Fair Housing and explicitly covers accessibility equipment. We file the FEHA accommodation-request packet at no charge. If a board requires its own engineer’s letter (rare), we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Most Oxnard families call me after the same conversation — a parent struggling on the stairs of a 1960s Colonia ranch, a daughter driving in from Ventura worried about her mother in an Oxnard Shores beach cottage, a retired Port Hueneme sailor whose knees finally gave out. In this city, that conversation often happens in Spanish first.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere — y en muchas familias de Oxnard, lo prefieren.
