Stairlift Service Across Nassau County

Nassau County, NY

From the pre-war Tudors of Manhasset to the 1920s colonials of Great Neck, from the waterfront homes of Port Washington to the tree-lined Victorians of Roslyn, from the split-levels of North New Hyde Park to the quiet streets of Flower Hill, our team has installed in every corner of this town. We know which Great Neck homes have the original servant's staircase that needs a lift, which Manhasset estates require a two-week custom curved rail, and which Port Washington waterfront lots need marine-grade hardware for the salt air off Manhasset Bay. We cover all surrounding villages — Roslyn Estates, Munsey Park, North Hills — as part of our standard North Shore service area.

Dark oak stairs in a Great Neck colonial — beige seat at the bottom landing

Great Neck, NY Installed March 2026

A 1928 Great Neck colonial with dark oak stairs, an original hand-carved banister, and warm cream plaster walls. The Steins wanted the stairlift to disappear into the staircase, not dominate it. We matched the beige seat upholstery to the warm oak tones, bolted the rail into the treads with backing plates for the pre-war wood, and parked the chair at the bottom landing where it folds flat against the newel post. Mrs. Stein's daughter — an architect in Manhattan — visited and said she approved.

90° curved rail in a Manhasset Tudor — brown seat at the upper landing

Manhasset, NY Installed February 2026

A 1936 Manhasset Tudor with a sweeping staircase, a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, and a chandelier that the Chens brought from their previous home in Hong Kong. We digitally scanned the geometry, custom-fabricated a curved rail in a dark bronze finish that complements the Tudor woodwork, and mounted the brown upholstered seat so it parks flush at the upper landing. Mrs. Chen swivels and steps onto the hallway hardwood. The chandelier hangs undisturbed.

Stone-tile treads in a Roslyn cottage — compact rail beside the entry sideboard

Roslyn, NY Installed January 2026

A renovated 1890s Roslyn cottage with stone tile treads, a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs that has stood in that spot for three generations, and walls too narrow for a standard-profile rail. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on the compact-profile rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the sideboard by two inches, and anchored into the stone with precision masonry bolts. The cottage character is untouched. Mrs. Callahan's grandchildren still run up and down without noticing the rail.

Outdoor

Outdoor rail on stone paving at a Port Washington waterfront entry

Port Washington, NY Installed December 2025

The DiNapolis' Port Washington home overlooks Manhasset Bay, with a raised entry, stone paving, and four exterior steps exposed to the salt air year-round. We installed the cream-colored outdoor seat on a marine-grade epoxy-coated rail with 316-stainless fasteners, added a weather hood over the joystick, and anchored everything into the stone. Mr. DiNapoli — 84 and a Korean War veteran — has ridden it through two nor'easters and an entire Long Island summer. The rail hasn't developed a single spot of corrosion.

Carpeted stairs in a New Hyde Park split-level — swivel seat at the landing

New Hyde Park, NY Installed November 2025

A 1958 New Hyde Park split-level with 12 carpeted treads and a residential landing that opens to the upstairs hallway. Mrs. Patel's mother moved in from Queens after a fall and the half-flight of stairs between the main floor and the bedrooms was the only barrier. We installed the brown-upholstered seat with the swivel-exit feature — the chair rotates 90 degrees at the landing so she stands on the hallway carpet instead of the top step. The rail runs along the carpet without pulling the pile.

Platform Lift

Indoor platform lift with yellow safety edges in a Flower Hill home

Flower Hill, NY Installed October 2025

Mr. Kaplan is a retired attorney who uses a power wheelchair after a spinal injury and needed indoor access between the main floor and the upstairs bedrooms in his Flower Hill home. We installed an inclined platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges. The platform folds against the wall when not in use so the wide staircase stays fully passable for his wife and visiting family. The NHTD waiver covered the full cost of the installation.

Common Questions

Everything North Hempstead Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in North Hempstead right now?

Straight rails in standard North Shore homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — common in Manhasset Tudors, Great Neck colonials, and Roslyn Victorians with landing turns — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured. Outdoor models with marine-grade hardware for Port Washington and the waterfront run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Does the Nassau County licensing requirement affect price?

No. The Nassau County HIC license is a regulatory requirement, not a cost driver. What it does protect is you — a contractor without the Nassau County license is working illegally in your home, and any contract you signed is voidable. We hold the license, carry the required bond, and verify on request. Ask every other company for theirs.

Do you charge extra for marine-grade hardware near the waterfront?

No. Every outdoor install within 5 miles of Manhasset Bay, Hempstead Harbor, or the Long Island Sound ships with marine-grade epoxy rail coating and 316-stainless fasteners as the North Shore default. Salt air corrodes standard powder-coated hardware within two to three years. Our sealed spec is the baseline, not an upcharge.

Is there a premium for Manhasset or Great Neck addresses?

No. Equipment and labor pricing is identical across every village in the Town of North Hempstead. We don't inflate quotes for higher-value neighborhoods. The aesthetic consultation — color matching, rail finish, park-position planning — is free and included in every assessment.

A word from Luis

North Hempstead is not a single town — it's 30 villages and hamlets, each with its own housing stock and its own expectations. I've installed in pre-war Tudors in Manhasset, 1920s colonials in Great Neck, 1950s split-levels in North New Hyde Park, and waterfront homes in Port Washington where the salt air eats standard hardware.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. Most North Hempstead families call me after something has already gone wrong — a stumble, a fall, a night spent sleeping on the couch because the stairs felt too risky. The sooner you call, the sooner the stairs stop being the problem.

— Luis Ramírez, North Hempstead
