Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across DuPage County

DuPage County, IL

From the 1960s colonials of Cress Creek — Naperville’s first golf-course community, where mature trees, narrow stairwells, and original hardwood treads define every install — to the executive homes of White Eagle built around the Arnold Palmer-designed golf course with open foyers and 16-foot stair runs, our team has measured staircases in every major Naperville subdivision. We know which Hobson West floor plans have the mid-landing 90° turn that requires a curved rail, which Ashwood Park custom builds have the wide open-riser staircases that install in three hours flat, and which Historic District homes near Washington Street and Naper Settlement fall within Naperville’s historic preservation overlay. We also staff dedicated coverage for Lisle, Warrenville, Bolingbrook, Woodridge, Aurora, and Wheaton — the full western-suburb corridor from I-355 to Route 59.

1966 Cress Creek colonial — straight rail on original oak hardwood treads

Cress Creek, IL Installed March 2026

A 1966 colonial in Cress Creek with original quarter-sawn oak treads, a turned walnut banister, and a stairwell narrower than most modern builds — 34 inches wall to rail. Mrs. Lindgren had lived in the house for 41 years and was not about to move because her knees had other plans. We specified the slim-profile rail so the walkable width stayed above 27 inches. The rail color was matched to the walnut, the pre-drilled pilot holes protected the oak from splitting, and the beige seat folds flat at the bottom landing. Three and a half hours on-site.

Hobson West Tudor — curved rail with 90° upper landing turn

Hobson West, IL Installed February 2026

A 1978 Tudor in Hobson West with a carpeted staircase and a 90° turn at the upper landing. Two other companies told the Kowalskis they’d need two separate straight lifts with a landing transfer. Mrs. Kowalski uses a walker and a mid-stair transfer was not an option. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a single curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the upper floor, and installed a brown-upholstered swivel-exit seat that parks at the top landing. She steps off directly onto the hallway carpet, framed family photos still hanging on the landing wall undisturbed. One ride, both hands free.

Straight

Historic District Victorian — straight rail in a compact 1890s cottage staircase

Historic District, IL Installed January 2026

An 1890s Victorian three blocks from Naper Settlement with a steep straight staircase — original wooden treads, a stone-base newel post, and a compact stairwell with a traditional cottage feel. The Brennans had been told by two contractors that the staircase was too steep. It isn’t — the rail angle requires a specific incline bracket set and slower motor speed. We mounted the rail on the wooden treads next to the entry sideboard, threaded it past the stone newel without contact, and the brown-upholstered seat parks at the bottom near the potted plant on the cabinet. The interior’s cozy traditional character stayed exactly as it was. Four hours on-site.

Outdoor

Historic District ranch — outdoor rail on stone-paver front entry steps

Historic District, IL Installed December 2025

A 1958 ranch near downtown with a raised front porch and seven exterior steps on flagstone pavers — the kind of entry that’s fine in July and a genuine hazard from November through March when DuPage County ice makes every step a liability. Mr. Dietrich is a Korean War veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through Hines VA. The outdoor rail is anchored into the rough natural stone paving with stainless concrete bolts, the cream weather-sealed seat handles the sub-zero polar-vortex events, and a carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom provides secure footing. Natural daylight floods the covered porch entry above. The lift ran through its first full Illinois winter without a service call.

White Eagle executive home — straight rail on carpeted stairs to the master suite

White Eagle, IL Installed November 2025

A 1997 executive home in White Eagle with a wide open foyer, a 16-foot carpeted staircase, and a second-floor master suite that Mr. Chaterjee’s father hadn’t slept in since his stroke in August. The family had moved a hospital bed into the first-floor study as a temporary fix, but five months later it was still there. We bolted a straight rail through the carpet and pad into the wooden substructure beneath — no carpet removal, no repadding. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones, and the tiled floor at the bottom landing stays clear when the seat folds flat. Wall-mounted light switches along the stairwell remained fully accessible. Three hours on-site.

Platform Lift

Brookdale split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift between garage and main floor

Brookdale, IL Installed October 2025

A 1974 split-level in Brookdale with the classic Chicago-suburb layout — the garage entry opens to a landing with four steps up to the main living area. Mrs. Park uses a power wheelchair after a spinal cord injury and had been entering through the backyard patio door for two years, which meant shoveling and salting a 40-foot path every time it snowed. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift at the garage-entry landing — a flat black anti-slip platform with bright yellow high-visibility safety edges, white handrails on both sides, and interlocked gates that prevent movement unless fully closed. The orange-terracotta painted walls and window light in the stairway frame the unit. Mrs. Park drove into her own garage and rolled directly into her kitchen for the first time in two years.

Common Questions

Everything Naperville Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Naperville right now?

Straight rails — the standard 13-to-16-foot runs in Cress Creek colonials, Hobson West Tudors, White Eagle executive homes, and Tall Grass two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-landings, L-shaped staircases, and mid-landing 90° turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and entry steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Naperville than other Chicago suburbs?

Equipment costs are identical across the western suburbs — we don’t inflate quotes for White Eagle or Ashwood Park addresses. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving original 1960s hardwood banisters in Cress Creek, compensating for narrow stairwells in older Historic District homes, and cold-weather battery upgrades that ship standard on every DuPage County install. We itemize every line. No surprise surcharges after the quote.

Do you charge extra for the cold-weather battery spec?

No — it’s standard on every Naperville install at no additional cost. DuPage County winters push sub-freezing for weeks and occasional polar-vortex events drop below -10°F. Standard lead-acid batteries lose capacity in those conditions. Our cold-weather-rated batteries and thread-locked rail fasteners (to resist the thermal expansion-contraction cycle between a 95°F August and a -5°F January) ship on every install north of I-80. Built into the quoted price.

My older Naperville home has settled and the stairs aren't perfectly level. Does that add cost?

Usually no. Homes built before 1970 in Cress Creek, Hobson West, and the Historic District sometimes show subtle floor settling — a quarter inch here, three-eighths there — especially where the original foundation meets the stairwell framing. We shim the rail brackets during install to compensate for unevenness up to about 3/4 inch, and that labor is included in the standard quoted price, not a line item. If the settling is more severe, we’ll tell you during the free assessment and quote any additional shimming explicitly before you sign.

A word from Luis

Most Naperville calls come from adult children — a daughter in the city who noticed Mom gripping the banister with both hands at Thanksgiving, a son who flew in from Denver and realized Dad hasn’t been upstairs in the Cress Creek colonial since the summer. The parents built their lives in these homes. They raised kids on those stairs. They’re not leaving.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. I know the DuPage County contractor registration requirements, the Naperville building department, and the condo boards along the Metra corridor. En español si lo prefiere.
