Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, AL

From the 1920s Craftsman bungalows of Old Cloverdale — where steep heart-pine treads, original plaster walls, and narrow stairwells define every install — to the 1960s split-levels in Dalraida where mid-landing turns are the norm, our team has mapped every pocket of Montgomery. We know Capitol Heights colonials from the 1940s where the back staircase is narrower than the main and needs a compact-profile rail. We know Eastdale’s 1980s two-stories that install fast and clean. Old Cloverdale blocks inside the Garden District fall under the Historic Preservation Commission for exterior-visible modifications — interior stairlifts need no review. Prattville’s newer two-story construction installs in three hours flat, and the Millbrook and Pike Road corridors serve families aging into stairs they never planned for. The Central Alabama VA Health Care System at 215 Perry Hill Road means HISA turnaround is among the fastest we see anywhere.

1929 Old Cloverdale Craftsman — heart-pine treads, original banister untouched

Old Cloverdale, AL Installed March 2026

A 1929 Craftsman bungalow in Old Cloverdale with original heart-pine treads, plaster walls, and a wooden banister with hand-turned spindles that Mrs. Thornton considered the most important detail in the house. We bolted the straight rail into the dark hardwood treads only, ran it against the opposite wall, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the bottom landing. The banister is untouched and her Sunday school group visited the following week without noticing the lift until she pointed it out.

Curved

Capitol Heights — curved rail through a 1946 colonial landing turn

Capitol Heights, AL Installed January 2026

A 1946 colonial in Capitol Heights with steep stairs and a 90° turn at the upper landing. The Lewises had been told by two companies that a stairlift wouldn’t fit. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a curved rail that tracks through the turn with three inches of wall clearance, and parked the swivel-exit seat at the top floor landing. Mrs. Lewis, a retired state archivist, tested it three times and declared the fabrication ‘historically appropriate.’

Dalraida — compact straight rail in a cozy 1970s split-level

Dalraida, AL Installed November 2025

A 1972 split-level in Dalraida with stone-tile treads, a wooden sideboard in the hallway, and a compact staircase tucked between the living room and kitchen. Mrs. Mitchell needed access to the upper bedrooms after a hip replacement but the tight footprint left no room for a wide-profile rail. We fitted a slim straight rail along the stone treads with the seat folded flat beside the hallway furniture. The traditional cottage feel of the home is preserved — visitors often mistake the rail for a handrail until they see the seat.

Outdoor

Prattville — outdoor entry lift on stone-paved porch steps

Prattville, AL Installed November 2025

A 2001 home in Prattville with a raised front porch and rough natural stone paving at the entry. Mr. Jackson, a retired Army aviator from Maxwell AFB, qualified for a HISA grant through the Perry Hill Road VA. We installed a weather-sealed cream-colored outdoor stairlift along the stone-paved porch steps with the seat at the entry level. The rail is UV-coated and humidity-sealed against Alabama’s climate, and it has survived a full summer at 95°F with 80% humidity without a service call.

Eastdale — straight rail on carpeted stairs in a 1988 colonial

Eastdale, AL Installed February 2026

A 1988 two-story colonial in Eastdale with wall-to-wall carpeted stairs and a small tiled landing at the bottom. Mr. Patterson needed upstairs bedroom access after bariatric surgery. We bolted the straight rail through the carpet into the treads beneath, matching the brown seat upholstery to the carpet tones. The install took three hours start to finish — standard Eastdale dimensions with consistent tread depth made it one of the cleanest jobs that month. Baptist Medical Center South is four miles away and his discharge coordinator had already recommended we call.

Platform Lift

Cloverdale — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran who uses a power chair

Cloverdale, AL Installed October 2025

A 1938 bungalow in Cloverdale where Mr. Harris, a retired Huntingdon College professor and wheelchair user, needed access to the upper floor without transferring out of his power chair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform and yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway. The white handrail guides the platform up the warm-toned interior. Mr. Harris rolls directly onto the platform, rides to the upper floor, and rolls off — no transfers, no lifting, no assistance needed.

Common Questions

Everything Montgomery Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Montgomery right now?

Straight rails in standard Montgomery homes — the two-story Eastdale colonials, the Dalraida split-levels, the newer Prattville floor plans — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the steep narrow turns in 1920s-30s Old Cloverdale bungalows and the mid-landing splits in Capitol Heights run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and porch access run $4,000 to $7,500 with humidity and heat sealing. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Montgomery has a lower cost of living than most cities. Are stairlifts cheaper here?

Equipment prices are the same across Alabama — the manufacturer sets the wholesale cost regardless of zip code. What makes Montgomery more affordable than many markets is the fast HISA turnaround from the local VA (Perry Hill Road, not a 90-minute drive) and the availability of Alabama’s Elderly & Disabled waiver. More than half our Montgomery installs are partially or fully funded through one of these programs. We walk you through every option at the kitchen table.

Does the HISA grant cover the full cost of a straight rail?

In most cases, yes. The HISA grant for service-connected disabilities is up to $6,800 — and a standard straight rail install in Montgomery typically falls between $2,800 and $5,500. For non-service-connected, the cap is $2,000, which covers a significant portion. Because the Central Alabama VA is local, the paperwork cycle is among the fastest in our network — often 4 to 6 weeks instead of the 6 to 8 we see in cities where the VA is an hour or more away.

Do you offer financing if I don’t qualify for the waiver or HISA?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull, takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Montgomery families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial HISA grant. We walk you through every option during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Montgomery families call me after the stairs have become the barrier nobody wants to acknowledge — a retired airman from Maxwell whose knees gave out in the Cloverdale bungalow he’s lived in for 35 years, a widow in Capitol Heights who stopped going upstairs after her husband passed, a daughter in Birmingham who found out her mother in Dalraida has been sleeping on the couch since Easter.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
