Stairlift Service Across Monmouth County

Monmouth County, NJ

From the 1960s colonials in Lincroft — where preserving original banisters matters to families who've lived there for two generations — to the split-levels in Oak Hill where 90° landings demand custom curved rails, our team has mapped every neighborhood in Middletown Township. We know which Navesink cottages have slate-tile treads requiring masonry anchors, which New Monmouth townhomes along Route 35 have narrow stairwells that need slim-profile seats, and which Leonardo and Belford homes rebuilt after Sandy have elevated entries with full flights of exterior stairs where none existed before. Every bayshore outdoor install ships with marine-grade salt-air coating as standard.

Lincroft colonial — straight rail on original oak treads, banister untouched

Lincroft, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1964 colonial in Lincroft with original oak hardwood treads and a banister that Mrs. Callahan's late husband had refinished by hand in 1989. Her daughter in Manhattan called us after her mother mentioned she hadn't been upstairs in three weeks. The rail bolts into the existing oak treads without touching the banister, the walls, or the newel post. The seat parks flush at the bottom landing next to the hall table. Mrs. Callahan tested it twice, declared it smoother than the NJ Transit bus to Red Bank, and has used it daily since.

Oak Hill split-level — one curved rail from foyer to bedroom hallway

Oak Hill, NJ Installed February 2026

A 1966 split-level in Oak Hill — six steps from the foyer to the main level, a 90° turn at the mid-landing, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Ferraro had a knee replacement at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank and his orthopedist told him: no stairs for eight weeks. We laser-scanned the entire run, fabricated a single curved rail that threads past the original newel post and carries him from the foyer to the bedroom hallway in one ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so he steps off onto level floor. The seat parks at the upper landing beside framed family photos on the wall.

Navesink cottage — straight rail in a compact entry with stone-tile treads

Navesink, NJ Installed January 2026

A 1952 stone cottage near the Navesink River with interior stairs built from slate tile over a concrete subfloor. The treads are uneven by nearly a quarter inch across the run, and the entry is compact: a wooden sideboard sits three feet from the bottom step with barely room for a walker. We shimmed the rail brackets at two points to compensate for the tile surface irregularities, anchored with masonry-rated fasteners, and positioned the seat so it parks flush against the sideboard without blocking the hallway. The cottage feel — stone treads, wood furniture, tight space — stays intact.

Outdoor

Leonardo — outdoor lift on stone-paved entry, marine-grade for Raritan Bay salt air

Leonardo, NJ Installed December 2025

A Sandy-rebuilt ranch in Leonardo with a new elevated entry — eight exterior stone-paved steps from the driveway up to the front door. Mrs. Russo uses a walker and had been entering through the garage side door for two years because the front steps were too steep. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor straight rail on the front entry steps, anchored into the stone pavers with stainless-steel masonry bolts, and fitted the entire unit with marine-grade epoxy coating. The cream-colored seat rides up past rough natural stone paving to the covered porch entrance. Mrs. Russo walked out her front door for the first time in two years on install day.

New Monmouth townhome — straight rail on carpeted stairs, HOA approved in four days

New Monmouth, NJ Installed November 2025

A two-story townhome off Route 35 in New Monmouth with wall-to-wall carpeted stairs — the thick, padded carpet standard in 1980s Monmouth County construction. Mrs. Petersen's biggest concern was whether the rail would crush the carpet. It doesn't. The mounting brackets sit on top of the carpet and compress it slightly under the bolt points, but when the rail is removed years from now, the carpet rebounds. The brown upholstered seat matches the carpet tone. At the landing, wall-mounted light switches remain fully accessible with the seat folded.

Platform Lift

Belford — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran who can't transfer

Belford, NJ Installed October 2025

Mr. Caruso is a Gulf War veteran who uses a power wheelchair full-time. A seated stairlift was not an option — he cannot transfer out of his chair unassisted. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip deck, high-visibility yellow safety edges on the platform and gate, and an automatic gate lock that prevents the platform from moving until fully enclosed. The HISA grant through the East Orange VA covered $6,800 of the cost. The orange-terracotta walls of the indoor stairway frame the lift on both sides. Mr. Caruso rolls onto the platform, presses a single button, and arrives at the upper level in twelve seconds.

Common Questions

Everything Middletown Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Middletown right now?

Straight rails in standard Middletown homes — the Lincroft colonials, the Oak Hill ranches, the New Monmouth townhomes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-levels with landing turns (common across Oak Hill, Lincroft, and the 1960s neighborhoods) run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models with the marine-grade shore package for bayshore homes in Leonardo and Belford run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and first service visit.

Is the salt-air shore package an extra charge?

No. Every outdoor install within ten miles of Raritan Bay — which covers all of Leonardo, Belford, Port Monmouth, and most of Middletown Township — ships with marine-grade epoxy rail coating, 316-stainless fasteners, and a sealed motor housing as standard spec. National chains charge $300-$400 extra for this. We include it because unprotected aluminum corrodes in a single Monmouth County winter and we'd rather build it right than warranty it later.

Do prices change for homes rebuilt after Sandy?

Equipment and labor cost the same regardless of when the home was built or rebuilt. What can change is the scope of work — several Sandy-rebuilt homes in Leonardo and Belford added elevated entries with full flights of exterior stairs where none existed before, which may require an outdoor model in addition to an interior lift. We tell you the line items during the free assessment. No surprise add-ons after you sign.

Can I rent a stairlift instead of buying?

Yes — monthly rentals starting at $150/month for straight models, with a minimum three-month term. Popular with Middletown families managing post-surgical recovery from Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank or Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, where a temporary mobility restriction doesn't justify a full purchase. If you decide to buy after renting, we credit the rental payments toward the purchase price.

A word from Luis

Most Middletown calls start with a grown child in Manhattan or North Jersey, worried about a parent in a Lincroft colonial or an Oak Hill split-level who stopped going upstairs two months ago and hasn't mentioned it. The second-most-common call is from a veteran whose provider at the East Orange or Lyons VA campus mentioned the HISA grant and wants to know if we handle the paperwork.

I drive to your house, measure once, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. The Monmouth County Veterans Services office on Kozloski Road in Freehold handles the federal claims side — I handle the installation side. En español si lo prefiere.
