Stairlift Service Across Grant County

Grant County, IN

Marion's housing stock spans Gas Boom mansions from the 1880s with steep oak staircases in Euclid Heights, the mid-century ranches of Brinker Heights where split-level floorplans hide short flights, and riverfront homes along the Mississinewa in Bend of the River. Country Lake Estates beside IWU has compact condo stairwells needing custom rail solutions. Andrew Manor and Chapel Pike Estates are full of well-kept two-story homes from the 1960s — narrow treads, standard turns, and owners who want to stay put. The downtown historic district has Italianate and Classical Revival homes with wide landings but steep rises where a rail makes the difference between moving out and staying home.

Straight

Oak Treads, Straight Rail in Euclid Heights

Euclid Heights, IN Installed March 2026

The Morrisons' Euclid Heights home dates to 1918 — deep oak treads, original woodwork, a straight staircase rising from the foyer. At 74, Mrs. Morrison could not climb those 14 steps without stopping twice to catch her breath. Luis measured the rise and run in about 20 minutes. The rail bolts directly into the treads — no wall drilling needed, so the original plaster stayed untouched.

Custom 90° Curve in Country Lake Estates Condo

Country Lake Estates, IN Installed February 2026

The Chens' condo in Country Lake Estates, beside the IWU campus, had a staircase that turned 90 degrees at the upper landing with a half-wall on one side. A standard straight rail would not work. Luis did a one-hour laser measurement, and the custom-bent rail arrived three weeks later. The brown seat parks at the top floor, near the bedroom doors.

Stone-Tread Stairs in Andrew Manor Cottage

Andrew Manor, IN Installed April 2026

The Turners' Andrew Manor home has stone-look tile treads — durable but slick. Mr. Turner slipped twice last year. The compact cottage staircase needed a straight rail that would not crowd the narrow hallway at the base. Luis mounted the rail to the treads with five bolts. The brown seat tucks beside a wooden sideboard at the bottom. Three hours start to finish.

Outdoor

Weather-Sealed Porch Lift in Bend of the River

Bend of the River, IN Installed November 2025

The Hendersons' Bend of the River home has a stone-paved porch entry — four uneven steps rising from the walkway. By November, morning frost makes those stones treacherous. Luis installed an IP55-rated outdoor stairlift, weather-sealed for Indiana freeze-thaw cycles and rated to operate down to 5°F. The cream-colored seat sits at the base of the porch stairs. Mr. Henderson, 81, rides it every morning to get the mail.

Carpeted Split-Level in Brinker Heights

Brinker Heights, IN Installed January 2026

The Wallaces' Brinker Heights split-level has wall-to-wall carpet on the stairs that climbs from the tiled entry to the main living area. The brown upholstery on the seat nearly matches the carpet tone — a small detail Mrs. Wallace appreciated. Luis mounted the straight rail in just under three hours, bolting through the carpet into the treads beneath. The seat parks at the lower landing by the front door. Mrs.

Platform Lift

Wheelchair Platform Lift in Chapel Pike Estates

Chapel Pike Estates, IN Installed May 2026

The Brooks family in Chapel Pike Estates was ready to list the house. Mr. Brooks uses a wheelchair after an accident and could not reach the upstairs bedroom or bathroom. Luis proposed an inclined platform lift — flat black deck with yellow safety edges, indoor-rated, 600 lb capacity. It rides a rail bolted alongside the staircase. The white handrail folds flush when the platform is not in use. Mr.

Common Questions

Everything Marion Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Marion?

Straight stairlifts in Marion start at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts run from $9,000 — the custom rail is bent to your exact staircase after a one-hour laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000, and heavy-duty models with 600 lb capacity start at $5,050. These are out-the-door prices: rail, seat, installation, and the 5-year warranty. Marion's mix of older two-story homes and mid-century ranches means most installs are straight-rail, keeping cost at the lower end.

Are there cheaper options for Marion's smaller homes?

Yes. Many Marion homes built in the 1960s and 70s — especially in Andrew Manor, Brinker Heights, and Chapel Pike Estates — have short, straight staircases that need only 8 to 12 feet of rail. These installs are at the low end of the $2,800 starting range. We also offer financing at $79/month. If the stairs are temporary — say, recovering from surgery — we can discuss rental options during the assessment.

Does Marion's older housing stock make installation more expensive?

Not usually. The Gas Boom-era homes in Euclid Heights and the downtown historic district have oak or hardwood treads that hold bolts well — no extra reinforcement needed. Plaster walls mean we bolt to the treads instead, which avoids wall damage and keeps the install time at three to four hours. The only variable that raises cost is a curved staircase — those require custom rail fabrication, which applies anywhere.

How do Marion prices compare to Fort Wayne or Indianapolis?

The same. The stairlift, rail, and motor are identical regardless of city — we do not add a mileage surcharge for Marion or Grant County. A straight lift in Marion costs the same $2,800 as one installed in Fort Wayne or Kokomo. Financing at $79/month and the $2,800 starting price are site-wide, no exceptions.

A word from Luis

I've been installing stairlifts in Marion since before the Cardinal Greenway connected us to Muncie. What I know about Grant County stairs: the Gas Boom homes in Euclid Heights have beautiful wide oak treads but the rise is steep — 42 degrees on some of them. The split-levels in Brinker Heights and Andrew Manor look like a straight shot but hide a turn you don't see until you measure. The riverfront places in Bend of the River — those porches ice up fast and an outdoor lift has to handle freeze-thaw without the rail shifting.

I had a customer on College Park last month. Her 1968 ranch had 13 carpeted steps. She'd been sleeping on the couch for eight months because the stairs to the bedroom hurt too much. We put in a straight rail in three hours. She called me the next morning crying — happy tears — because she woke up in her own bed. That's the job. That's why I do this in Marion.

VA paperwork does not have to be hard. The Marion VA Medical Center on East 38th processes HISA applications regularly. I'll help with the forms at the assessment — same day. Call (800) 965-0350.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Marion's housing stock runs from 1880s Gas Boom two-stories with wide oak staircases to mid-century split-levels and compact 1960s ranches — and in every one, a stairlift means the difference between selling the family home and staying in it. Luis Ramírez has measured more Grant County staircases than anyone: Euclid Heights Victorians, Brinker Heights split-levels, riverfront porches in Bend of the River, and the condo stairwells beside IWU. He knows which rail fits what rise.

Call Luis at (800) 965-0350 for a same-day assessment. The Marion VA Medical Center on East 38th Street processes HISA grants regularly — Luis can walk you through the two forms. If you are over 60 and on Medicaid, Indiana PathWays for Aging may cover the full cost up to a $15,000 lifetime cap. One call, one visit, and your mom can use her own bedroom again.
