Stairlift Service Across Morton County

Morton County, ND

We install across all of Mandan, from the Mandan Commercial Historic District with its 1880s-1920s Northern Pacific railroad cottages (narrow stairs, original hardwood treads) to the newer Lakewood subdivision in the southeast, where split-levels and two-story builds from the 1990s and 2000s sit on wider lots. North Mandan and Rockwood have the ranch and split-entry homes from the 1970s-80s boom, carpeted stairs, standard 42-inch width, easy straight-rail fits. The Meadowlands 55+ community off 3rd Street often needs platform lifts for wheelchair access on single-story entry steps. Out near Prairie West and the Honey Hills area, the larger-lot homes sometimes need outdoor lifts for raised porches with Missouri River views.

Historic Railroad Cottage, Original Hardwood

Mandan Commercial Historic District, ND Installed March 2026

1918-built NP railroad cottage on Seventh Avenue NW in the Commercial Historic District. Dark oak hardwood stairs, original, never carpeted, 34 inches wide on a straight 12-foot run to the second floor. Luis fit a straight rail in beige to match the trim, bolted directly to the treads. Three-hour install, no damage to the century-old woodwork, and the seat parks folded at the bottom landing.

Lakewood Two-Story, 90-Degree Turn at Upper Landing

Lakewood, ND Installed January 2026

1998 two-story in Lakewood's Shores subdivision. The staircase rises 13 feet to an upper landing with a 90-degree turn around a half-wall, modern interior with a chandelier overhead. Luis laser-measured the turn on site and ordered a custom curved rail, factory-bent to match exactly. The brown upholstery seat parks at the top floor, tucked against the half-wall, so the Andersons' mother, 82, reaches her bedroom again.

Rockwood Split-Level, Stone Tile Treads

Rockwood, ND Installed February 2026

1985 home in Rockwood with stone tile treads, a compact staircase where every inch counts and a wooden sideboard cabinet at the bottom. Luis set the brown upholstery seat at the base near the cabinet. The tile surface meant careful anchor placement, the mounting points hit solid sub-floor through the tile. Three hours start to finish, and the sideboard stays fully reachable beside the parked seat.

Outdoor

Prairie West Raised Porch, Missouri Valley View

Prairie West, ND Installed October 2025

Elevated front porch on a Prairie West home near the golf course, rough stone paving, seven steps up from the driveway. Luis installed an IP55-sealed outdoor lift with a cream seat and a corrosion-resistant powder-coated rail, epoxy-anchored into the stone treads, no wood to rot, no rust concerns. He timed it for October so the homeowners' father, a Korean War veteran, could reach the front door before the first snow.

North Mandan Ranch, Carpeted Stairs

North Mandan, ND Installed November 2025

1978 ranch home in North Mandan, a standard 12-riser staircase with beige carpet that closely matched the stairlift upholstery. Luis set the brown seat near the upper landing, with a tiled floor at the base. Straight rail, five bolts per tread bracket through the carpet into the plywood beneath, plugged into the wall outlet at the base of the stairs. The Garcias wanted it in before a December knee replacement. Three-hour morning install.

Platform Lift

Meadowlands 55+ Community, Wheelchair Access

Meadowlands, ND Installed January 2026

Meadowlands 55+ home with a six-step interior rise, enough that a ramp would need to run 36 feet and wouldn't fit the layout. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift instead, flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail. It carries the Olsons' father, 86, plus his power wheelchair, rated for 600 pounds. He rides up and presses the remote to send the platform back down for the next person.

Common Questions

Everything Mandan Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost in Mandan?

Straight stairlifts in Mandan start at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your exact stair turn, we do a 1-hour laser measurement on site first. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000 (IP55 weather-sealed for North Dakota winters). Heavy-duty lifts up to 600 lb capacity start at $5,050. Every quote is fixed, no surprises after the assessment.

Does insurance cover stairlift costs in Mandan?

Original Medicare does not cover stairlifts. However, North Dakota's HCBS Waiver for Aged and Disabled covers home modifications, including stairlifts, as an environmental modification service for residents who qualify financially and medically. Some Medicare Advantage plans in the Bismarck-Mandan area include home-safety benefits. We help you check which programs you qualify for.

What financing options are available for Mandan residents?

We offer financing from $79/month. No prepayment penalty. The approval takes about 10 minutes and the soft check doesn't affect your credit score. We also walk you through the HISA grant paperwork, $6,800 for service-connected veterans, $2,000 for non-service-connected, and the North Dakota Assistive Financial Loan Program (a 2% fixed-rate loan through ND Assistive).

How does the Mandan quote compare to ordering online?

Our quote includes installation, the on-site assessment, and a 5-year parts-and-labor warranty from a local installer who lives in the area. Online stairlift kits look cheaper but don't include measurement, and if you measure wrong, the rail doesn't fit. In Mandan's older railroad-era homes off Main Street where stairs aren't standard width, that matters. We get it right the first time.

A word from Luis

I've put stairlifts into about every kind of home Mandan has, from the 1910s railroad cottages off West Main where the staircases run at 36 inches wide, to the 1990s split-levels in Lakewood with a turn at the landing. The thing people don't expect is how fast it goes. Most straight-rail installs here are done by lunchtime. The rail bolts to the treads, not the drywall, so the plaster in those older Mandan homes near the Commercial Historic District stays intact.

Winter matters here. I always tell folks to look at the battery backup, we get outages when ice takes down lines out toward Fort Lincoln, and the lift's 4Ah battery runs for about 6 hours after the power cuts. For outdoor installs on the raised porches up in North Mandan and Prairie West, we spec IP55 weather sealing and a galvanized rail. The wind off the Missouri River valley is no joke in January.

— Luis Ramírez, Mandan
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Mandan sits right where the Heart River meets the Missouri, a railroad town that grew into Bismarck's neighbor across the water. Whether your home is a 1913 stucco on Seventh Avenue NW or a 2020 build in the Shores at Lakewood, the install goes the same way: Luis shows up, measures, bolts the rail to the treads, and is gone in about three hours. No drywall work, no rewiring, nothing left behind but the lift and the manual.

Call or fill out the form to have Luis do a free in-home assessment. He'll measure your exact staircase, straight or curved, indoors or out, and give you a fixed quote that same day. No pressure, no sales pitch, just a number you can take to the bank. Or to the Bismarck VA Clinic, or to North Dakota's HCBS Waiver coordinator. Whatever route works for your family.
