Stairlift Service Across Madera County

Madera County, CA

Downtown Madera's grid streets hold craftsman bungalows and worker housing from the lumber-boom era — narrow stairwells that need our compact-profile rail. Storey, south of center, is where most two-story install calls originate: 1970s–80s colonials with builder-grade carpet and stairwells that bake in Valley sun, so every Storey address gets the heat-rated motor. Madera Ranchos, east along Avenue 12, has large lots and raised entries — our most common outdoor-lift territory. Riverstone is the new master-planned community: wide stairs, level treads, quick installs, straightforward HOA. Madera Acres and Parkwood, the unincorporated areas north and south, have 1990s ranch-to-two-story conversions with afterthought staircases requiring careful measurement.

Storey two-story — straight rail on 1970s hardwood treads with heat-rated motor

Storey, CA Installed March 2026

A 1978 two-story in Storey with original hardwood treads and a west-facing stairwell that reaches 130 degrees F on an August afternoon. Two other companies quoted a standard motor without mentioning the heat. We specified the aluminum-finned heatsink motor and heat-rated lubricant, drilled into the tread centers only to protect the hardwood finish, and bolted the rail in under four hours. The Morales family ran it through their first Central Valley summer without a single thermal cutoff. Abuela rides it four times a day.

1918 downtown bungalow — curved rail past the original fir banister at the landing turn

Downtown Madera, CA Installed February 2026

A 1918 craftsman bungalow on the grid streets downtown with original fir treads and a tight 90-degree turn at the upper landing. Sra. Delgado said: No toques la madera. Luis scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the original banister without grazing a single spindle, and installed in a single afternoon — the entire process in Spanish. The chair parks flush at the upper landing and the original craftsman woodwork is untouched. Sra. Delgado has not missed a day upstairs since February.

Downtown Madera — compact rail in a cozy craftsman bungalow beside original sideboard

Downtown Madera, CA Installed January 2026

A compact 1940s bungalow near Yosemite Avenue with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the staircase. The narrow stairwell — 28 inches clear — left no room for a standard rail without blocking the hallway furniture. We fitted the compact-profile rail tight to the tread edge, folding footrest clearing the potted plant on the sideboard by two inches. The cottage feel of the home is unchanged. Three generations share the house, and Sra. Guzman rides past the family photos on the stairwell wall four times a day.

Madera Ranchos — outdoor porch lift on stone-paved entry steps

Madera Ranchos, CA Installed December 2025

A large-lot property in Madera Ranchos with a raised front porch and rough stone-paved entry steps leading up from the driveway. Mrs. Vang had not been able to leave the house unassisted since a fall in September. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone paving, mounted the weather-resistant cream seat with UV-coated finish, and sealed every connection against Central Valley dust and wildfire particulate. Natural daylight floods the covered porch entry, and the lift carries her from the stone landing to the front door in a single smooth ride. She was at her grandchild's soccer game in Fresno by January.

Madera Acres — straight rail on carpeted stairs in a 1990s conversion

Madera Acres, CA Installed November 2025

A ranch-to-two-story conversion in Madera Acres where Mr. Thompson needed a stairlift after knee surgery. The carpeted stairs in the 1990s addition had uneven tread depths from the original conversion. We shimmed each bracket to compensate, bolted the rail through the carpet into the tread substrate, and color-matched the brown upholstered seat to the existing carpet tones. The landing area at the top has tile flooring, so we installed a swivel-exit seat for a safe step-off onto the hard surface. He was riding the same afternoon his daughter brought him home from rehab.

Platform Lift

Riverstone — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a full-time chair user

Riverstone, CA Installed October 2025

A 2019 Riverstone two-story where Mrs. Kaur's mother uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the main stairway — a flat anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail, running along the indoor stairway beside the terracotta-toned walls. The platform carries the wheelchair directly from the ground floor to the bedroom level without any transfer. The Riverstone HOA approved with no formal review required. Her mother arrived the following week and has used it every day.

Common Questions

Everything Madera Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Madera right now?

Straight rails in standard Madera homes — the Storey two-stories, the Riverstone tract homes, the Madera Acres conversions — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for any staircase with a landing turn or a 90° bend, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and heat-sealed models for raised porches, garage-step access, and exterior entries in Madera Ranchos run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Madera than Fresno or the coast?

Equipment prices are the same across California — we don't charge differently based on your address. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: heat-rated motor specs for Storey stairwells that bake in the Valley sun, dust-sealed gearing for Madera Ranchos outdoor lifts, and compensating mounts for afterthought staircases in Madera Acres conversions. We tell you the line items upfront. No hidden charges.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Madera assessment can be conducted entirely in Spanish — from the first phone call through the consent form to the operating manual. In a city where over 81% of residents identify as Hispanic or Latino, this is not a special service. It is how we do business. Every printed quote, consent form, and instruction booklet is available in Spanish at no surcharge.

Does the CSLB license really matter?

In California, any home improvement work over $500 without a CSLB license is a criminal offense under Business & Professions Code section 7028 — not just a fine. Our CSLB license number is printed on every written quote and verifiable in 30 seconds at www.cslb.ca.gov. We carry the C-61/D-34 specialty classification, a $25,000 surety bond, workers' compensation, and general liability. Ask any installer for their license number before you let them in the house.

A word from Luis

Most Madera families call me after the problem has already forced a decision — a fall on the concrete porch steps, a parent who stopped going upstairs in a Storey two-story three months ago, a daughter in Fresno worried about her mother alone in the downtown bungalow where she has lived since the children were small.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
