Stairlift Service Across Brunswick County

Brunswick County, NC

Leland's housing stock spans compact 1980s ranch homes off Village Road to new two-story layouts in Brunswick Forest, where 8,000 homes sit on former timberland opened in 2007. Waterford of the Carolinas — one of Leland's original planned communities with about 1,167 homes — has lakefront properties where curved stairs with mid-landing turns are common. Magnolia Greens and Compass Pointe draw retirees to golf-course homes, often with carpeted staircases on narrower tread widths. Lanvale Oaks has established subdivisions with wider staircases from the early 2000s. The Bluffs on the Cape Fear features waterfront homes needing outdoor lifts for steep entry stairs, with salt-air exposure calling for marine-grade components.

Straight

Straight Rail on Dark Hardwood in Brunswick Forest

Brunswick Forest, NC Installed February 2026

The Colemans' 2012 build in Brunswick Forest has dark oak treads — the original finish, never refinished. We bolted a cream-colored straight rail directly into the treads using a bracket system that left zero marks on the wood. The staircase runs 14 feet in a single run from the foyer to the upstairs landing. Mrs. Coleman has arthritis in both knees and was avoiding the second floor entirely.

Curved

Custom Curved Rail at Upper Landing in Waterford

Waterford of the Carolinas, NC Installed January 2026

The Reynolds' lakefront home in Waterford has a staircase that climbs to a half-wall landing, turns 90 degrees, then continues to the upper floor. A chandelier hangs above the turn. We laser-measured the full geometry on site — every rise, run, and angle — and the rail shipped in two sections, bent to match. The brown seat parks at the upper landing, out of sight from the foyer.

Straight

Straight Rail on Stone Treads in Lanvale Oaks

Lanvale Oaks, NC Installed March 2026

The Mitchells' home in Lanvale Oaks dates to 2003 — compact two-story, stone tile treads on the main staircase, with a wooden sideboard at the base. The brown seat tucks against the sideboard when parked. Stone treads need a carbide bit for the anchor bolts; we used the right bit and didn't crack a single tile.

Outdoor

Outdoor Lift at Cape Fear River Entry

The Bluffs on the Cape Fear, NC Installed October 2025

The Harringtons' home in the Bluffs sits on a rise above the Cape Fear — 11 steep stone-paved steps from the driveway to the front porch. We installed a cream-colored outdoor straight lift with marine-grade finish. The rail is IP55-rated: sealed against driving rain and salt spray. Every bolt and bracket is stainless. The seat has a waterproof cover that snaps on when not in use. Mr.

Straight

Straight Rail on Carpeted Stairs in Magnolia Greens

Magnolia Greens, NC Installed December 2025

The Petersons retired to Magnolia Greens in 2018 — a golf-course home with beige carpeted stairs leading to a tiled foyer at the base. We matched the seat upholstery close to the carpet tone. The carpet overlay required a slightly different bracket plate, but the bolts still anchor into the treads beneath. Straight 13-foot run, no turns. Mrs.

Platform Lift

Indoor Platform Lift in Grayson Park

Grayson Park, NC Installed June 2026

The Walkers' two-story in Grayson Park needed a solution for their son, who uses a manual wheelchair full-time. We installed an inclined platform lift on the indoor staircase — a flat black deck with yellow safety edges, white handrail, and a simple joystick toggle. The platform folds up against the wall when not in use so the family can still use the stairs. Carries up to 600 lb.

Common Questions

Everything Leland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Leland?

Straight rail installs in Leland start at $2,800. Curved rails — common in Waterford and Bluffs homes with mid-landing turns — start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for porch or deck access start at $4,000. All prices include the measurement visit, rail, seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty. No hidden delivery fees for Brunswick County.

Are there extra charges for installing in Leland's newer master-planned communities?

No. The price covers the full install regardless of subdivision — Brunswick Forest, Compass Pointe, Magnolia Greens, Grayson Park. We handle any HOA notification. The only variable is whether you need straight or curved rail, which we determine at the free in-home measurement.

What financing options can Leland residents use?

Financing starts at $79/month with approved credit. We also walk you through third-party options — several Leland customers have used the NC Assistive Technology Program (NCATP) for device loan programs, and veterans apply the HISA grant toward the purchase. No prepayment penalty on any plan.

Does Leland's coastal climate add to long-term stairlift costs?

The outdoor lifts use marine-grade components rated for coastal Carolina humidity and salt exposure. Indoor lifts run on sealed DC motors with battery backup that handles Brunswick County's occasional storm-related outages. Maintenance is once-yearly — $150 for a full rail, motor, and battery check. Most Leland customers go 10+ years before needing any parts beyond batteries.

A word from Luis

"Leland is a different install market than Wilmington. The homes here were built fast — Brunswick Forest started in 2007, Waterford even earlier. I see a lot of two-story layouts with mid-landing turns where a straight rail won't cut it. The curved jobs take a laser measurement, about an hour on site, and the rail ships bent to your exact stair geometry. Over in the Bluffs, we do outdoor lifts where the driveway-to-porch climb is steep and the salt air eats cheap components. I always spec the marine-grade finish for those."

"The veteran piece matters here. Brunswick County has a big retiree population, and a lot of them served. I tell every veteran who calls — the HISA grant is $6,800, one-time, tax-free, no payback. The Wilmington VA Health Care Center on Gardner Road processes them. I've walked families through the paperwork at the assessment. Two forms. The first is the grant request, the second is the medical-necessity statement from your VA primary care doc. That's it."

— Luis Ramírez, Leland
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Leland sits at the intersection of fast growth and aging in place. Brunswick County added over 7,800 residents between 2024 and 2025 — the fastest rate in North Carolina — and it's also the state's oldest county by median age. That means more two-story homes with stairs that worked fine at 55 but feel different at 75.

Whether you're in a 2009 build in Brunswick Forest with oak treads and a straight rail, or a lakefront Waterford property needing a custom-bent curved rail, the install is local. Luis lives here. He knows the subdivisions, the VA clinic on Gardner Road, the CAP/DA waiver process through NC Medicaid, and which rail fits a 28-inch-wide carpeted staircase in Magnolia Greens. Call or fill out the form — he comes to you for the measurement, no charge.
