Stairlift Service Across St. John the Baptist County

St. John the Baptist County, LA

We install stairlifts across every corner of Laplace and St. John the Baptist Parish. In Belle Terre, the gated community with newer construction, straight staircases are the norm and installs run fast. River Forest has larger homes with wider staircases and mid-landing turns — curved rails are common here. Over in Riverlands, many homes have exterior stair entries to porches, where outdoor lifts hold up to south Louisiana weather. Live Oak Landing, with its 255 homes, leans toward compact ranch layouts and straight-rail installs. In Summerlin Lake, single-story homes dominate but two-story builds have carpeted staircases we bolt right into.

Straight

Straight Rail on Dark Hardwood — Belle Terre

Belle Terre, LA Installed March 2026

The Martins live in a newer two-story in Belle Terre with dark oak hardwood treads. Mrs. Martin had stopped using the upstairs entirely after a knee replacement. Luis spec'd a beige upholstered straight rail — the seat parked at the bottom landing tucks under the staircase overhang when not in use. Three hours from arrival to cleanup. The rail bolts went straight into the oak treads, drywall untouched.

Curved Rail at Upper Landing — River Forest

River Forest, LA Installed February 2026

The Thompsons' River Forest home has a wide staircase that makes a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. A chandelier made headroom tight, so Luis laser-measured every step to bend the custom rail around the turn without crowding the fixture. Brown upholstery matched the existing trim. Five hours total, including the measurement session two weeks earlier.

Compact Straight Rail on Stone Treads — Live Oak Landing

Live Oak Landing, LA Installed January 2026

Live Oak Landing's compact ranch layout means narrow stairs — just 34 inches wall-to-wall. Luis spec'd a slim-profile straight rail with a brown upholstered seat; a wooden sideboard sits nearby at the bottom. Stone tile treads took carbide-tipped drill bits. The seat folds flat against the rail when not in use, leaving plenty of room to walk past. Done by early afternoon.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Lift — Riverlands

Riverlands, LA Installed October 2025

The Harris home in Riverlands has a raised front porch with rough stone paving — six steps up from the driveway. Mr. Harris stopped using the front door after a fall. Luis installed a cream-colored outdoor lift with IP55 weather sealing and marine-grade components for south Louisiana humidity. Six months later, after two severe thunderstorms and a tropical storm watch, the lift runs like new.

Straight Rail on Carpeted Stairs — Summerlin Lake

Summerlin Lake, LA Installed April 2026

The Summerlin Lake two-story has wall-to-wall beige carpet on the staircase. Luis bolted the brown upholstered rail directly through the carpet and pad into the subfloor — tiled floor at the base gave a solid platform for the lower bracket. Mr. Williams, 78, was using the lift before the crew pulled out of the driveway.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform — Indigo Lakes

Indigo Lakes, LA Installed January 2026

The Rodriguez family in Indigo Lakes needed access for their son, who uses a wheelchair full-time. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift — flat black deck with yellow safety edges, a white handrail, 600 lb capacity. The platform folds against the wall when not in use, leaving the stairs fully walkable. Five hours total; the family had been carrying their son upstairs for three years.

Common Questions

Everything Laplace Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Laplace, Louisiana?

A straight stairlift in Laplace starts at $2,800 installed. That covers the rail, seat, mounting hardware, and labor. Most straight installs in Laplace homes — ranch-style houses in Belle Terre, newer builds in Summerlin Lake — run between $2,800 and $3,500 depending on rail length. The in-home assessment is free, and we give you a firm quote before any work starts.

How much more does a curved stairlift cost for Laplace homes with landings or turns?

Curved stairlifts start at $9,000 in Laplace. The price reflects the custom rail — we laser-measure your exact staircase, then the rail is bent to match every turn. Common in River Forest homes with mid-stair landings and older Acadian raised houses off River Road where staircases are steep with tight corners. The measurement visit takes about an hour, and we provide the final price the same day.

Are there additional fees for installing a stairlift in older Laplace homes near the Mississippi River?

No extra fees for older homes. The assessment covers everything — we check tread condition, stair width, and landing space before quoting. Homes built before 1970 in the historic district off Main Street sometimes need a curved rail due to narrow, steep staircases, which costs more than a straight rail. But there is no surcharge for the age of the house itself.

Does All American Stairlifts charge for the in-home assessment in Laplace?

No. The in-home assessment in Laplace is free. Luis Ramírez, our Laplace specialist, comes to your home, measures your staircase, discusses product options, and gives you a written quote — all at no charge. You can schedule by calling the office or using the form on this page.

A word from Luis

I've been installing stairlifts in Laplace since 2010, and I can tell you exactly what to expect in a River Parishes home. In Belle Terre, the newer construction gives us wide, straight staircases — those go in fast, about three hours start to finish. The older Acadian raised houses along River Road are different. Those stairs can be steep with tight landings, which means a custom curved rail measured on site. I've done curved installs in River Forest where the staircase does a 90-degree turn at the upper landing — that takes about five hours with the laser measurement we do first.

The one thing I tell every family in St. John Parish: get the battery backup. We live in hurricane country out here. When Ida came through in 2021, families with battery-backed lifts were still using their stairs during the outage. The DC battery runs the lift for about six hours after the power drops. If you're in Riverlands or Summerlin Lake, I've probably done an install within three blocks of you. Call me at the Laplace office and I'll come look at your staircase — no cost for the assessment.
