Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Ingham County

Ingham County, MI

From the 1910s worker bungalows of the Eastside — where narrow stairwells and original hardwood banisters define every install — to the 1950s cape cods of Colonial Village with steep half-story bedroom stairs, our team has mapped every Lansing neighborhood. We know which Genesee homes need a dedicated circuit before install, which Westside ranches have the split-level entry requiring a short straight rail, and which Moores Park foursquares have original oak banisters we bolt around without touching. The REO Town shotgun houses test our narrowest rails. Coverage extends into Eaton County and east to Okemos — no travel fees across the tri-county area.

Straight

Eastside bungalow — straight rail on original hardwood treads

Eastside, MI Installed March 2026

A 1928 Eastside bungalow with original dark hardwood treads and an open-tread staircase. Mr. Kowalski is a retired GM worker whose knees gave out after 32 years on the line. Luis color-matched the rail to the existing oak, bolted it to the right side of the treads without touching the original banister, and positioned the seat at the bottom landing. The warm wood tones of the stair treads and the beige seat blend into the home's character. He was back upstairs that evening for the first time in five months.

Okemos split-level — curved rail around a 90° upper landing

Okemos, MI Installed February 2026

A 1975 split-level in Okemos with a 90° turn at the upper landing and a half-wall balustrade. Dr. Patel's mother moved in from India last year and hadn't managed the stairs since arriving. Luis laser-scanned the staircase and fabricated a curved rail that bends around the upper landing turn, parking the brown-upholstered seat at the top floor so she steps directly onto the hallway. A chandelier above and framed art on the wall frame the modern interior. She rides it four times a day now.

REO Town — compact rail in a cozy shotgun-house stairwell

REO Town, MI Installed January 2026

A revitalized REO Town shotgun house with a compact stairwell, stone-look tile treads, and a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the base of the stairs. Two other companies told Mr. Davis a stairlift wouldn't fit. Luis installed the narrow-seat compact rail with the brown-upholstered seat positioned at the bottom next to the furniture. The cottage feel of the traditional interior is preserved — the folded chair clears the opposite wall by three inches. Mr. Davis uses a walker and the armrest controls let him keep both hands free.

Outdoor

Genesee neighborhood — outdoor porch lift on a raised stone entry

Genesee, MI Installed December 2025

A 1940s Genesee neighborhood home with a raised front porch and rough natural stone paving at the entry. Mrs. Thompson is 84 and had not used her front door in eight months. Luis installed an outdoor porch lift with a cream-colored weather-resistant seat on the stone-paved entry steps, sealed motor housing, cold-weather battery, and a snow guard over the rail. Natural daylight floods the covered porch area. It ran through the entire 2025-2026 Michigan winter without a single service call.

Colonial Village — straight rail on carpeted half-story stairs

Colonial Village, MI Installed November 2025

A 1952 cape cod in Colonial Village with carpeted stairs leading to the half-story bedrooms. Mrs. Novak had stopped using the upstairs entirely after a balance scare. Luis installed a straight rail on the carpet-covered treads with the brown-upholstered seat parked at the landing — the seat tones match the carpet color naturally. Wall-mounted light switches and a tiled floor at the bottom landing mark the transition. She added a powered swivel at the top so she exits facing the bedroom, not the stairwell.

Platform Lift

Westside — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a raised ranch

Westside, MI Installed October 2025

The Nguyen family's father uses a power wheelchair and needed indoor access between the split-level floors of their Westside raised ranch. Luis installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip deck and bright yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway. A white handrail guides the platform up. The warm-toned walls and window light frame the installation. Mr. Nguyen rolls his wheelchair onto the platform, engages the controls, and rides between floors without transferring to a seat.

Common Questions

Everything Lansing Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in the Lansing area right now?

Straight rails in standard Lansing homes — the Eastside bungalows, the Colonial Village cape cods, the Westside ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Moores Park foursquares with landing turns, Okemos split-levels, and any staircase with a 90° mid-landing run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices lower in Lansing than Ann Arbor or Detroit?

Equipment prices are the same across Michigan. What makes Lansing installs often more affordable is the housing stock itself — shorter stair runs in bungalows, standard tread spacing in post-war construction, and fewer curved-rail situations than you'd find in older Detroit or Ann Arbor Victorian homes. A typical Eastside bungalow straight rail is at the lower end of the price range. We tell you the line items upfront.

Any hidden fees I should watch for with a Lansing stairlift install?

Our quote includes the LARA-licensed install, battery backup, first service visit, and any local permit fees. What can add cost (rarely) is when a pre-1940s Eastside or Moores Park home has an original 60-amp electrical panel that cannot support a dedicated circuit without a panel upgrade. If that's the case, we tell you during the first assessment — not on install day.

Do you offer financing if I don't qualify for MI Choice or HISA?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Lansing families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through the math during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Lansing families call me after the stairs in their Eastside bungalow or Colonial Village cape cod became the thing they dread — a parent gripping the banister with both hands after knee surgery, a retired autoworker in REO Town who hasn't been upstairs in three months, a daughter at MSU worried about her mother living alone in Moores Park.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. Every Lansing install includes sealed motor housing — the Michigan humidity demands it.
