Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County, MD

We install across the entire Lake Shore peninsula, from Venice on the Bay at the southern tip off Fort Smallwood Road to Rock Creek along the Patapsco River tributary. The Long Point on the Magothy waterfront homes often need curved rails for their split-level entries, while Bayside Beach and Rock View Beach have tighter ranchers where a straight rail fits in a morning. Inland, Chesterfield and Countryside subdivisions are dense with 1970s colonials — steep, narrow staircases that need a rail bolted to the treads. Magothy Beach and Belhaven Beach round out our service area, each with its own stair geometry from decades of additions and remodels.

Straight

Straight Rail on Hardwood · Venice on the Bay

Venice on the Bay, MD Installed March 2026

The Morrison home off Fort Smallwood Road is a 1980s rancher — 14 feet of dark oak treads with a narrow 33-inch width, straight from the entry to the upper level. Luis bolted the beige straight rail to the treads, ran the power lead to a nearby outlet, and had Linda Morrison, 76, riding up by noon. Rail bolts to treads, not the wall — drywall stays intact.

Curved

Curved Rail at Upper Landing · Long Point on the Magothy

Long Point on the Magothy, MD Installed April 2026

The Fletchers' waterfront home on Long Point has a curved staircase that sweeps 90 degrees at the upper landing. Built in 1994, the staircase features a half-wall topped with a cherrywood cap — no room for error on the laser measurement. Luis spent 45 minutes mapping every turn and rise. The brown leather seat parks at the top floor, right beneath the chandelier — Robert Fletcher, 82, now makes it to his bedroom without help.

Straight

Straight Rail · Compact Cottage in Bayside Beach

Bayside Beach, MD Installed February 2026

The Kowalski cottage on Bayside Beach dates to 1962 — stone-and-tile treads, 30 inches wide, leading from the kitchen level up to two small bedrooms. Luis anchored the brown straight rail into the stone treads using a masonry bit and specialty anchors. The wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs stayed exactly where it was — the rail clears it by two inches. Three-and-a-half hours, start to finish.

Outdoor

Outdoor Rail on Stone Porch · Rock View Beach

Rock View Beach, MD Installed May 2026

The Delgado home in Rock View Beach has a rough stone-paved porch — seven steps down to the driveway with a low stone wall on one side. Joe Delgado, 79, had stopped using the front door entirely after a fall in 2024. Luis installed a cream-colored outdoor unit with an IP55-sealed rail, marine-grade aluminum, and a weatherproof seat cover. The rail anchors into the flagstone; natural daylight hits the porch all afternoon.

Straight

Straight Rail on Carpet · Chesterfield Split-Level

Chesterfield, MD Installed January 2026

The Simmons split-level in Chesterfield — five steps up from living room to kitchen, eight more to the bedrooms. The stairs are carpeted beige, almost matching the brown seat. Luis bolted the straight rail through the carpet into the treads beneath; the pile compressed around the brackets but didn't tear. The tiled floor at the base gives a clean visual transition. Margaret Simmons, 68, was in her own bed that same night.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform · Deerfield Subdivision

Deerfield, MD Installed April 2026

The Brooks home is a 1985 Deerfield colonial where David Brooks, 57, uses a wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform lift — flat black deck with yellow safety edges, white handrail — that carries David and his wheelchair up the full 14-foot run, rated to 600 lb. The platform folds against the wall when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Lake Shore Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Lake Shore, MD?

A straight stairlift in Lake Shore starts at $2,800, installed. Curved lifts start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement. Outdoor units for porch or deck stairs start at $4,000 — we use marine-grade aluminum here because of the Chesapeake Bay salt air. All prices include the assessment visit, the rail, the seat, the install labor, and a demo before we leave. Financing runs from $79/month.

Are there any hidden costs or surprise fees with stairlift installation in Lake Shore?

No. The price Luis gives you at the assessment is the price you pay. It covers the rail, seat unit, installation labor, and the in-home demo. The only thing that would change the quote is if you decide to add options — like a powered swivel seat or a different upholstery color — and Luis will tell you the cost for each before you decide. There's no charge for the assessment visit itself.

How much does a curved stairlift cost compared to a straight one in Lake Shore?

Curved stairlifts start at $9,000 in Lake Shore — roughly three times the base cost of a straight unit. The difference comes from the custom manufacturing: a technician spends about an hour at your home with a laser measurement tool, mapping every turn and rise on your staircase. That data goes to the factory where your rail is bent as a single continuous piece. Straight rails come in standard lengths off the shelf.

Does Medicare or insurance cover stairlift costs in Anne Arundel County?

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover stairlifts — they classify them as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer a home-modification benefit, but it varies by plan. Maryland Medicaid covers stairlifts under the Community First Choice (CFC) program and the Community Options Waiver when a doctor certifies medical necessity. We recommend checking with your plan administrator before scheduling an assessment.

A word from Luis

"Lake Shore is different from most places I work. You've got homes on the water — Bayside Beach, Venice on the Bay — where the stairs go from a front entry straight up to the main living level because everybody builds up for the view. Then you've got the interior subdivisions like Chesterfield and Deerfield where the split-level layout puts the bedrooms a half-flight up from the kitchen. I've installed on both sides of Mountain Road enough to know that no two staircases here are exactly alike, even in the same floor plan."

"What I tell families is this: the Magothy River humidity chews through cheap metal. We use powder-coated aluminum rails, and marine-grade hardware for outdoor installs near the water. On a straight stair, I can have your mom using the lift again by lunchtime — we bolt to the treads, not the wall, so the drywall stays intact. Curved stairs take a laser measurement visit first, then the rail ships custom-bent. Either way, I don't leave until you've run the lift yourself and feel good about it."

— Luis Ramírez, Lake Shore
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Lake Shore is a peninsula where generations of families have put down roots — and those roots mean aging in homes that weren't built for aging. The split-level on Magothy Bridge Road, the rancher off Fort Smallwood Road, the colonial in Chesterfield: each one has a staircase that tells the story of when it was built and how it's been lived in. A stairlift doesn't change the house. It changes who can stay in it.

Call Luis at the number above or fill out the form. He'll come out, measure your stairs, and give you a firm price. No sales pitch — just a guy who knows every street in Lake Shore and can tell you whether a straight rail or curved rail fits your staircase before he even walks through the door.
