Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County, MD

From the 1950s–60s ranchers and Cape Cods of Harundale — with their original pine banisters, carpeted treads, and finished basements — to Marley’s brick ranchers with wider stairwells, from Glenwood split-foyers with the steep foyer drop to North Glen Burnie rowhomes closer to the Baltimore line, our team has measured stairs in every pocket of this community. We know which Harundale Cape Cods need the compact-profile rail, which Marley basement stairs take masonry anchors, and which Crain Highway corridor townhomes need HOA documentation. Glen Burnie borders Ferndale, Pasadena, Brooklyn Park, Severn, and Linthicum — we cover all of northern Anne Arundel County as a single service area. Same crew, same pricing, same MHIC license.

North Glen Burnie colonial — beige seat on refinished oak treads

North Glen Burnie, MD Installed March 2026

A 1992 colonial on Crain Highway North with refinished oak treads and a warm wood-tone banister. Mrs. Kowalski had not been upstairs in six weeks after breaking her ankle on the bottom step. We matched the beige seat to the warm oak tones, bolted the straight rail into the treads against the banister side so her grandson still runs up the other side, and parked the chair at the upper landing where it folds flat. She rode it to her bedroom the same afternoon. Her daughter in Severn stopped calling every night to check.

Glenwood split-foyer — curved rail with 90° turn parked at the upper hallway

Glenwood, MD Installed February 2026

A 1967 Glenwood split-foyer with a steep rise from the entry landing to the upper bedrooms and a 90-degree turn at the top where the hallway opens up. Two other companies told the Thompsons they’d need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mr. Thompson from the entry landing to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and mounted the brown upholstered seat so it parks flush at the top. He swivels and steps onto the hallway carpet. The chandelier above the turn clears the rail by four inches.

1958 Harundale Cape Cod — compact rail beside the hallway console table

Harundale, MD Installed January 2026

An original 1958 Harundale Cape Cod — one of the first homes built when the neighborhood went up alongside the Harundale Mall. Enclosed staircase to the upstairs bedrooms, 33 inches wide between the plaster walls, a wooden console table at the base of the stairs that Mrs. Brennan inherited from her grandmother, and the original pine banister. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on the compact-profile rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the console table by two inches. The pine banister is untouched. Her bridge partner walked in the next week and didn’t notice the rail until she pointed it out.

Marley rancher — weather-sealed outdoor lift on the stone-paved front entry

Marley, MD Installed December 2025

A 1963 Marley brick rancher with a stone-paved front entry and five exterior steps that ice over every Maryland winter. Mr. Sullivan is a retired Fort Meade civilian employee who qualified for the HISA grant through the Baltimore VA. We installed the cream-colored outdoor seat on a galvanized rail anchored into the stone paving, applied the marine-grade coating standard for any Anne Arundel County address, and fitted the cold-pack battery rated for Maryland’s January lows. He’s ridden it through the full 2025–2026 winter without a single fault. The VA processed the HISA paperwork in five weeks.

Harundale basement stair — brown seat on carpeted treads to the finished lower level

Harundale, MD Installed November 2025

A 1961 Harundale rancher with a finished basement Mr. Garrett has used as his workshop for 40 years. Twelve carpeted treads down to a poured-concrete landing pad. He hadn’t been down there in five months after a knee replacement. We drilled through the carpet into the wood substructure, anchored the lower bracket into the concrete pad with masonry bolts, and mounted the brown-upholstered seat that practically disappears against the carpet tones. Swivel-exit at the bottom so he steps off onto the concrete floor. He was back at the lathe that weekend.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform lift in a Glenwood split-foyer for a Fort Meade veteran

Glenwood, MD Installed October 2025

Mr. Washington is a disabled Army veteran who uses a power wheelchair after a service-connected injury. His Glenwood split-foyer has a half-flight between the main level and the upstairs bedrooms. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat black anti-slip deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The platform folds against the wall when not in use so his wife and daughter still use the stairs normally. The Baltimore VA processed his HISA grant in five weeks. He rolls onto the platform, rides to the upper hallway, and sleeps in his own bedroom every night.

Common Questions

Everything Glen Burnie Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in a Glen Burnie rancher or Cape Cod right now?

Straight rails in standard Glen Burnie homes — Harundale Cape Cods, Marley ranchers, Glenwood split-foyers — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. About 75% of Glen Burnie installations need straight rails because mid-century housing stock features straight-run interior stairs to bedrooms and basements. Curved rails for colonials with landing turns cost $9,000 to $15,000. Outdoor models for raised front entries cost $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Harundale vs. Marley vs. North Glen Burnie?

Equipment prices remain identical across Glen Burnie. Installation labor varies slightly for unusual conditions: masonry anchoring on poured-concrete basement landing pads in some Marley ranchers, narrow-stair compact-profile rail selection for tight Harundale Cape Cod enclosed stairs, and additional time for North Glen Burnie rowhomes where interior stairs are 30–32 inches wide needing the slim-profile Bruno. All line items are disclosed upfront. No surprise premiums based on neighborhood.

Do I need to pay for the basement stair and the bedroom stair separately?

Each staircase requires a separate rail with a separate quote, but the second rail receives a discount when both install in the same visit. Most Glen Burnie families install the bedroom stair first — that one keeps them from sleeping upstairs — and add the basement run later. Some install both on the same day and save on combined labor. Both options are quoted during the free assessment without requiring a second visit.

Any hidden fees for condo or townhouse association installs?

The quote includes HOA paperwork preparation. Townhouse sections along the Crain Highway corridor and newer developments in Tanyard Springs have community associations. Maryland’s Condominium Act and federal Fair Housing Act require associations to approve reasonable accessibility modifications for residents with documented medical need. Documentation packets are carried on every Glen Burnie assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Glen Burnie calls are about a rancher with a full basement. The husband can’t do the basement stairs anymore, or the wife fell on the carpet runner last winter, or a daughter in Annapolis is calling because her parents are still in the same Harundale Cape Cod they bought in 1962 and nobody has talked about the twelve steps to the bedrooms until now.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure the basement run and the bedroom stair, and give you a written price honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. MHIC-licensed, Anne Arundel County coverage.
