Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Madison County

Madison County, TN

In the Bemis Historic District, the century-old mill-worker cottages have narrow stairwells with original hardwood treads and steep pitches — our slim-profile rail is the only model that fits most of these homes. Along North Highland and University Parkway, the 1960s-1970s ranch split-levels are our most common Madison County job: landing turns, carpeted treads, five-to-eight step runs from entry to living area. The LANA district near old Lambuth holds Foursquares and Tudors where a straight rail handles the full run. Outside city limits, we cover Medina, Humboldt, Three Way, Pinson, and Henderson without a travel surcharge — many calls involve pre-1950 farmhouses where settled treads need shimmed rail brackets.

1928 Northwood home — straight rail on original oak treads

Northwood, TN Installed March 2026

A 1928 Northwood home on one of the original tree-lined streets in Jackson's first planned subdivision. Mrs. Caldwell's staircase is original — oak treads worn smooth by nearly a century of foot traffic, a turned newel post her late husband refinished himself in 1987. We pre-drilled every lag bolt hole to avoid splitting the century-old oak, mounted a straight rail along the right side, and placed the beige seat at the bottom landing where it parks flush against the wall. Her daughter tested it first. Mrs. Caldwell rode it upstairs the same afternoon and slept in her own bedroom that night.

1972 North Highland split-level — curved rail around a 90° landing

North Highland, TN Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level ranch on North Highland Avenue — the most common staircase layout in Madison County. Five steps from the garage-level entry to the main living area, a 90° landing turn, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. We laser-scanned the full run during the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that carries Mr. Dillard from the entry level to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto the hallway floor instead of onto the top tread. The seat parks at the upper landing next to the half-wall.

Bemis Historic District cottage — slim rail in a narrow stairwell

Bemis Historic District, TN Installed January 2026

A 1905 Bemis mill-worker cottage on Georgia Street — one of the original Craftsman bungalows built by the Bemis Brothers Bag Company. The stairwell measured 28 inches wide, which ruled out every full-size rail on the market. We fitted the slim-profile model with a folding seat and folding footrest that leave 19 inches of clear passage when stowed. The stone-tile treads at the base of the stairs were uneven from a century of settlement, so we shimmed the lower two brackets to bring the rail level. Mr. Pryor parks the seat next to the wooden sideboard at the bottom of the stairs.

LANA district raised porch — outdoor rail on stone entry steps

LANA District, TN Installed December 2025

A 1920s Foursquare near old Lambuth University with a raised front porch and seven stone-paved entry steps that Mrs. Hargrove had not used in over a year. She'd been entering through the back door at grade level and walking around the house to get her mail. The outdoor rail is weather-sealed against West Tennessee humidity, UV-coated for the summer sun, and anchored through the stone pavers into the concrete footer. The cream-colored seat matches the porch trim. Mrs. Hargrove uses the front door again.

University Parkway ranch — carpeted stairs, same-week install

University Parkway, TN Installed November 2025

A 1975 ranch home off University Parkway with wall-to-wall carpet on the stairs and a landing at the top. Mrs. Rawlings had a hip replacement scheduled at West Tennessee Healthcare the following week and needed the lift working before she came home. We measured on Monday, confirmed the straight-rail fit over carpeted treads with no landing turn, and installed on Thursday. The brown seat blends into the carpet tones so naturally her visiting nurse didn't notice it until Mrs. Rawlings demonstrated the ride.

Platform Lift

Old Medina Road — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a Vietnam veteran

Old Medina Road, TN Installed October 2025

A 1968 two-story home on Old Medina Road where Mr. Tate, a Vietnam veteran and full-time wheelchair user, had been confined to the ground floor for over two years. A seated stairlift was not an option — he cannot transfer out of the chair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat anti-slip platform and yellow high-visibility safety edges on the indoor stairway between the first and second floors. The HISA grant through the Jackson VA Clinic covered the majority of the cost, and the Madison County Veterans Services Office at 311 North Parkway helped coordinate the paperwork. Mr. Tate rode the platform to his upstairs bedroom for the first time in two years the afternoon we finished.

Common Questions

Everything Jackson Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Jackson right now?

Straight rails in standard Jackson homes — the ranch split-levels on North Highland, the Northwood two-stories, the Bemis bungalows — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the 1960s and 1970s split-level homes with a mid-landing turn run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and garage-entry steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Jackson prices different from Nashville or Memphis?

Equipment prices are identical across Tennessee — we don't inflate quotes based on your address or zip code. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: compensating rail mounts for settled treads in pre-1950 Bemis or LANA district homes, extra-narrow stairwells in the old mill cottages, or a new dedicated circuit in a house with original 1920s wiring. We show you the line items upfront. No surprise markups.

Can I get a price over the phone before the home visit?

We can give you a ballpark — straight rails run $2,800 to $5,500 for most Jackson homes, curved rails $9,000 to $15,000 — but the binding quote requires a laser measurement of your staircase. Every staircase is slightly different, and the homes in Madison County range from 1900 Bemis bungalows to 2010 subdivisions. The measurement visit is free, takes about 45 minutes, and there is zero obligation. If the number doesn't work, we leave and you owe nothing.

Do you charge a travel fee for Medina, Humboldt, or Henderson?

No. We cover Madison County and the surrounding five-county area — Medina, Humboldt, Three Way, Pinson, Henderson, Beech Bluff — with no travel surcharge. West Tennessee is our territory, not an afterthought. If you're within a 45-minute drive of Jackson, the assessment and install are at the same price as a house on North Highland.

A word from Luis

Most Jackson families call me after the same conversation — a parent who stopped going upstairs three months ago and hasn't told anyone, a fall on the carpeted landing of a 1970s North Highland ranch while carrying laundry, a daughter in Nashville who drove home for Thanksgiving and realized her mother hadn't used the second floor since July.

My job is straightforward: drive to your house, measure the staircase, and hand you a written price that's good for 30 days. No pressure. No follow-up calls. If the price works, I can have your lift installed the same week.
