Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across San Benito County

San Benito County, CA

We work across the city of Hollister and the unincorporated San Benito County areas that ring it. The Hollister Historic District covering the original 50-lot subdivision around 4th and San Benito Streets is full of 1890-1920 farmhouses with redwood treads — straight rails are the standard fit. Sunnyslope on the south-east side and Cerra Vista hold most of our 1980s-2000s ranch and tract-home installs. Quail Hollow off Enterprise Road is cul-de-sac single-family with half-landing turns that need curved rails. Park Hill, Ridgemark (the country club community south of town), and Tres Pinos Road rural builds round out the regular service area through San Benito County.

Common Questions

Everything Hollister Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hollister, CA?

A standard straight rail in a Hollister Historic District farmhouse runs $2,800-$3,400 installed. Curved rails for the half-landing turns in Quail Hollow or Ridgemark start at $9,000 because every rail is laser-measured. Outdoor IP55 units for Park Hill ridge entries start at $4,000.

Are there hidden fees on a Hollister stairlift quote?

Our quote breaks out four lines: rail, seat, install labor, and the seismic bracing kit (mandatory in Hollister because of the Calaveras Fault). The City of Hollister does not require a permit for a residential stairlift, so there's no permit line. Typical add-on is a dedicated 110V outlet at the bottom landing — about $180 if your electrician isn't already on site.

Why is the seismic bracing kit a separate line?

California Building Code clears standard residential rails, but the Calaveras Fault runs directly under Hollister. We add an upper-mount seismic bracing kit on every install — about $140 in parts. The kit is included automatically; we list it separately so you can see what the fault adds to the cost.

How does financing work — what's the monthly payment?

From $79/month on a 60-month plan for a standard straight, with no prepayment penalty. We also accept VA HISA, Medi-Cal HCBA Waiver direct-pay, and the IRS medical expense deduction at year-end.

A word from Luis

Hollister housing is older than most folks realize. The original 50-lot subdivision around the Hollister Historic District has 1890-1920 farmhouses with redwood treads and 32-inch stair widths — straight rails fit cleanly. Sunnyslope and Cerra Vista on the south side are mostly 1980s-2000s ranches and tract homes where the stairwells are wider but the half-landings turn 90 degrees.

The fault line matters here. Every install I do in San Benito County uses the seismic bracing kit on the upper rail mount — standard residential rails clear California Building Code, but the Calaveras Fault runs right under town and a 4.0 shake feels like a 6.0 elsewhere. I drive the HISA paperwork to the VA Palo Alto Monterey CBOC at 201 9th Street, Marina, for our veterans — about 60 miles out, and I make the trip when a client can't.

— Luis Ramírez, Hollister
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

A 1905 farmhouse on 4th Street takes a different rail than a 1995 ranch in Sunnyslope or a Ridgemark country club home with a half-landing turn. Every quote we send breaks out the rail, the seat, the install labor, and the seismic bracing kit as separate line items so you can see exactly what changes between a $2,800 straight and a $9,000 curved.

Reach Luis directly. Hollister surveys are typically same-week, and we'll tell you on the phone whether your stairwell takes a straight or needs the curved before anyone drives out from the Salinas Valley.
