Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Harford County

Harford County, MD

I work the whole 8-square-mile footprint of Havre de Grace and the close-in pockets of Harford County. In the Historic District around St. John Street and the Lockhouse, I bracket straight rails into original heart-pine treads on stairs that are often only 31-32 inches wide. Bulle Rock and Greenway Farm homes (post-2005, off Chapel Road) typically need curved rails for the 90-degree turn at the upper landing. Webster Village, The Cove on the Susquehanna waterfront, Bayview Estates, and Robscott Manor round out my service area. I also serve Aberdeen, Perryville, Bel Air, Edgewood, Joppatowne, Abingdon, and Forest Hill on the same one-truck dispatch — no county line surcharge.

Common Questions

Everything Havre de Grace Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Havre de Grace?

Most straight installs in Havre de Grace land between $3,400 and $4,800 all-in. The 13-14 step run typical of a Bulle Rock single-family is at the lower end; a longer split-foyer stair in Greenway Farm or a tight 31-inch-wide stair in the Historic District trends higher because of bracket placement and rail trimming.

Why are curved stairlifts so much more expensive than straight ones in Havre de Grace?

Every curved rail is built to your stair's exact geometry. For the 90-degree upper landings common in Greenway Farm and the split landings in older Webster Village colonials, the rail is laser-measured on-site, fabricated in 3-4 weeks, and shipped just for your stair. Straight rails ship from stock and cut on-site — that's the cost gap.

Are there hidden fees I should know about for a Havre de Grace install?

No. My quote includes the lift, the rail, the install labor, the electrical tie-in, removal of any prior chair, and a haul-away of packaging. Permits are not required for residential stairlifts in Havre de Grace because the unit is not bolted to a structural wall — it's anchored to the treads. The price I email you is the price you pay.

What's the ongoing cost after the install in Havre de Grace?

Almost nothing. The battery pack lasts 4-5 years and runs about $180 to swap. I do an annual safety check for $129 if you want one (most clients skip it after year 2). The DC motor is sealed and lasts 10-12 years in the Chesapeake humidity Havre de Grace gets in summer.

A word from Luis

Havre de Grace homes split into two clear groups for me. The 19th-century rowhouses around the Historic District near St. John and Union have narrow staircases — sometimes 31 inches wall-to-wall — with original heart-pine treads I will not damage. I bracket into the treads, never the plaster wall, and I keep the rail under 5 inches off the wall so two people can still pass.

The other group is the post-2005 builds in Bulle Rock and Greenway Farm: wider stairs, tall ceilings, often a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. Those usually need a curved rail. I measure on the first visit, lock the price for 30 days, and I do not subcontract the install. Same hands every time.

— Luis Ramírez, Havre de Grace
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Havre de Grace stairs are not generic. A 1905 row on Union Street with original treads needs a different bracket plan than a 2014 Bulle Rock home with a curved upper landing — and I price them differently because the labor is different.

If you are weighing a stairlift for a parent who wants to stay in the rowhouse they have lived in for 40 years, call me. I will measure the stair, photograph the bracket points, and email you a fixed quote the same day — no high-pressure sit-down.
