Stairlift Service Across Adams County

Adams County, NE

I install across every Hastings neighborhood from the Central Hastings Historic District — where 386 Victorian and Arts-and-Crafts homes between 7th and 12th Street have stair widths under 34 inches that demand slim-profile rails — through Heartwell Park Historic District, where the 1886-era homes on Lakeside Drive often need curved tracks for tight quarter-turn landings. The Downtown Historic District upstairs apartments in Burlington Avenue commercial buildings are reachable with platform lifts. In the Lochland Country Club area off West Lochland Road, the 1970s-1980s ranch builds have standard carpeted treads. North Park along 33rd Street and Osborne East adds newer construction with wider treads. In South Hastings and along Showboat Boulevard, the 1960s split-foyers are the most-common install — straight rail, 13 treads, 3-hour job.

Common Questions

Everything Hastings Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hastings, NE?

A straight rail in a Hastings home starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails — common in the Central Historic District foursquares — start at $9,000 because the track is custom-fabricated to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor units for the raised porches off Burlington Avenue start at $4,000. Heavy-duty 600 lb units start at $5,050. Every quote includes the in-home measure, install, and a 5-year warranty.

Is financing available for Hastings stairlift buyers?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month with approved credit, no prepayment penalty, and terms of 24 to 84 months. Most Hastings households on Social Security qualify based on the fixed monthly amount alone — we don't require a credit pull above 580.

Are stairlifts tax-deductible in Nebraska?

If your doctor signs a letter of medical necessity, the stairlift becomes a deductible medical expense on your federal return — including the install labor. Nebraska doesn't add a state-level credit on top, so the savings come through your federal Schedule A. Keep the receipt and the letter together; the IRS asks for both during an audit.

Do you charge for the in-home measure in Hastings?

No. The visit is free across Hastings, all of Adams County, and out to Holdrege, Grand Island, and Kearney. I bring the rail samples and a tape measure. The quote you sign is the quote you pay — no surveyor's fee bolted on later, no permit pass-through.

A word from Luis

Hastings homes give me three problems most installers don't see in newer Nebraska towns. The Central Historic District houses from 1880-1920 have stair widths of 32 to 34 inches with original quarter-sawn oak treads I won't drill into without lag-shield anchors. The Heartwell Park bungalows have a tight 90-degree turn at the base — straight rails won't seat, you need a curved track or a transfer landing. And anything south of the BNSF tracks tends to be 1950s ranch with carpeted treads on plywood subfloor, which means I'm using longer fasteners and adding a tread reinforcement plate.

I drive Highway 281 every week and I know which subdivisions are slab-on-grade versus full basement. That changes how the lower charging station gets routed. If you're in Adams County and the cold starts the rail contracting in January, my install includes a thermal break washer set — most installers skip it and the rail squeaks all winter.

— Luis Ramírez, Hastings
