Stairlift Service Across Pitt County

Pitt County, NC

In Brook Valley, the conversation starts with "don't scratch the oak banister" — our rail bolts into the treads only, never the wall or spindles. River Oaks homes along Memorial Drive have raised front entries that often need an outdoor solution before we get inside. Bridlewood in northwest Greenville has the newest housing stock — wider stairs, level construction, fast installs. Brookdale near ECU Health draws retirees who want to stay close to their doctors; the ranches there sometimes have an addition that created an unexpected half-flight. In Winterville, seven miles south, 1960s brick ranches dominate — straightforward straight-rail installs that finish in three hours. We also cover Ayden, Simpson, Grimesland, and the rural stretches of Pitt County where the nearest installer without us is an hour away in Raleigh.

Brook Valley colonial — straight rail on original oak treads

Brook Valley, NC Installed March 2026

A 1978 colonial in Brook Valley with 14 oak treads, a turned-spindle banister, and a homeowner who told us on the phone that the banister was original and non-negotiable. Mrs. Tanner had been sleeping on the living room couch for six weeks after a knee replacement at ECU Health because the bedroom was upstairs and the stairs weren't safe. The rail bolts into the treads — never the wall, never the spindles — and the chair folds flat against the wall so her husband can walk past without turning sideways. She slept in her own bed Thursday night for the first time in six weeks.

River Oaks colonial — curved rail with 90° turn at the upper landing

River Oaks, NC Installed February 2026

A 1985 colonial in River Oaks with a staircase that runs straight for 12 treads, then turns 90 degrees at the upper landing before reaching the hallway. Two other companies told the Langleys they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mr. Langley from the foyer to the hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto the landing floor instead of the top tread. The seat parks at the upper floor next to framed art on the wall. One ride, zero transfers.

Winterville brick ranch — straight rail beside the sideboard on stone-tile treads

Winterville, NC Installed January 2026

A 1966 brick ranch in Winterville with a stone-tile foyer and a half-flight of stairs that an addition created in the 1980s. The stone treads were the concern — standard mounting hardware doesn't grip tile the way it grips wood. We used chemical-set concrete anchors rated for the stone substrate, tested every bracket to 400 lbs of shear force before mounting the rail, and positioned the seat to fold flat next to the wooden sideboard at the base. Mr. Dawson is 84 and had been avoiding the den downstairs for two years. He watched the Tar Heels in his own den the night we finished.

West Greenville porch — outdoor lift on stone-paver entry steps

West Greenville, NC Installed December 2025

A 1950s bungalow in West Greenville with a raised front porch, six exterior stone-paver steps, and a handrail that was decorative at best. Mr. Hines is a Vietnam-era veteran who uses the Greenville VA Clinic on Moye Boulevard — he qualified for the full $6,800 HISA grant for a service-connected disability. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, his VA provider wrote the prescription within three weeks, and installation was authorized 10 days later. The outdoor rail is sealed against eastern NC humidity, UV-coated for the long summer sun, and the motor housing carries an IP55 rating. The cream seat sits on the rough stone paving at the bottom landing, ready for the next ride up to the covered porch.

Brookdale ranch near ECU Health — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Brookdale, NC Installed November 2025

A 1972 ranch in the Brookdale area, three blocks from ECU Health Medical Center, with a full flight of carpeted stairs to the upper bedrooms. Mrs. Odom's cardiologist at Brody told her the stairs were off-limits after her second stent procedure. The rail mounts through the carpet into the plywood subfloor beneath — the carpet stays intact around the brackets, no re-stretching needed. The brown upholstery matches the carpet tones, and the seat parks at the landing with a tiled floor at the base. Mrs. Odom rides up every evening and down every morning to the kitchen.

Platform Lift

Uptown Greenville home — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Uptown Greenville, NC Installed October 2025

Mr. Roberson uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury at Camp Lejeune. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to roll on, ride up, and roll off in the chair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides and a white handrail. The orange-toned walls and window beside the staircase frame the lift naturally. Mr. Roberson's VA care coordinator at the Greenville VA Clinic approved the HISA grant. He rolls from the living room to the upstairs bedrooms without transferring out of his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Greenville Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in the Greenville, NC area right now?

Straight rails — the standard for Brook Valley colonials, Winterville brick ranches, and Brookdale homes near the hospital — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for staircases with a landing turn, common in the larger River Oaks colonials and split-level additions across Pitt County, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor lifts for raised front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is a stairlift more expensive in Greenville than in Raleigh or Charlotte?

Equipment prices are identical across North Carolina — we don't inflate quotes based on ZIP code. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: stone-tile treads in older Winterville split-levels, chemical-set anchors for exterior stone-paver steps, or compensating rail mounts for settled foundations in pre-1970 homes. We itemize everything upfront. No surprise line items on install day.

Do you charge a travel fee for Pitt County and surrounding towns?

No. Greenville, Winterville, Ayden, Simpson, Grimesland, Bell Arthur, and everywhere inside Pitt County — zero travel fee. We also cover Washington, Kinston, and most of eastern NC without a surcharge because our installer lives in the region, not in the Triangle.

Any hidden fees for HOA or 55+ community installs in Greenville?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. Under the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, HOAs must permit accessibility equipment for disabled residents. We've worked with the age-restricted communities in the Greenville area — the reasonable-accommodation letters are already templated. If a board requires its own engineer's letter, we tell you before we start — not after.

A word from Luis

Most Greenville families reach out after something specific — a fall on the stairs in a Brook Valley colonial, a parent discharged from ECU Health Medical Center who can't do the steps anymore, a grown daughter in Raleigh who hasn't slept right since her mother told her the bedroom is upstairs and the knees aren't cooperating.

Here's what I do: drive to your home, measure the staircase, and hand you a written price good for 30 days. No high-pressure sales. No bait-and-switch. If you're a veteran using the Greenville VA Clinic on Moye Boulevard, I bring the HISA paperwork with me. En español si lo prefiere.
